The game would have been out already. More men would be put to work at Rockstar North, finishing up GTA V much quicker. Rockstar North didn't have any input in the production of Max Payne 3. They are hard at work on GTA V and the very discrete Agent. jamieleng Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 I wish this was the case. Max Payne 3 was such a waste of Rockstar's time. I thought it was the best Rockstar game to date. They fine tuned the shooting mechanics to a T. We'll be lucky if gtaV's will be anything like it I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best game Rockstar has ever made, imo. Just as much.. or less.. not more. What you don't understand is that Rockstar, and most studios, use their smaller titles to finance/keep fans busy for their bigger ones. So without smaller games like Max they couldn't do the big ones either and you'd just get something on the scale of Max Payne 3 every two years or so. The Rockstar North cycle is: GTA V Agent Nothing other parts of R* do would change that. That is why. If Max Payne 3 wasn't out then Rockstar Vancouver would be making Bully or some other franchise. What part of this do you not grasp? The point in having Max Payne 3 in the first place was to fill the yearly slot R* have. If that isn't been made then another game would be. While R* north work on GTA V. If it was agent R* north would have to stop working on V and work on Agent so that wouldn't happen. Bully, for sure. It's not like Red Dead Revolver, which was bought half finished from Crapcom, could ever live up to its potential. That's why L.A. Noire, which I thought was a superb interactive movie never stood a chance. Rockstar acquired it too late in development, decided to let them continue on their set path, instead of taking it back to the drawing board. Imagine what a RAGE, Euphoria & MotionScan L.A. Noire could've been like? With gameplay closer to GTA IV & RDR, a story that could be influenced, even slightly, through your actions. Oh & of course sh*t like this & how 'bout some of this Ok, I'm just being silly now. At least it made its money back & we can expect Chicago Noire in 2018. Another point to consider is North had nothing to with MP3 so even if it never existed we'd still be where we're at atm. Why people think MP3 still has a resounding affect on GTA V I'll never know. Hey, guys, good news!! I just heard that TTWO management has directed Rockstar North to stop all work on GTAV and put all the talent on Max Payne 4, immediately. It's the same company after all, max payne felt very similar to red dead in the way it played. Don't try and tell me each studio starts from scratch on every project. that's just ridiculous.
