When the screenshots were released this fell in line with the summer break didn't it? I don't mean this in a derogatory sense, but most people who visit this forum are of highschool age and with them not being bored out of their minds out on their break and heading back to school you only have to put two and two together. If R* decide to release more info during the Christmas period this forum will pick up again. You are prolly right about most people going back too school, I just imagined most people were older. Back a few months ago (the eve of the first screens) the drought and activity on here was so bad that the mods were lenient and kept threads open that were proven dis-true, only to spark somesort of conversation. I wouldn't consider this any kind of low. We've seen much worse on this forum. Also, the activity on the "Official News" section, there isn't much more going on. You must be new here, should've seen what it was like before the announcement, many People thought there wasn't going to be a GTAV, it's a total mad house now. Well, I believe he thinks it's peculier because we actually have news to discuss, but we're not. Before the announcement it was just people making predictions with no backround info, so I don't think that counts. So we're not discussing news about GTA V on the board? Well that's funny. Epsilon Program - 7000 replies Vehicle Database- 1091 replies Business screens - 1600 replies. Transport - 2030 replies Leisure - 1765 replies Trailer 1 - 9730 replies GTA V announced 6730 replies GTA V screenshots Q n A 2709 replies. I could go on with actual information that we are talking about in the official topics, but we have exhausted most of the information to be gained from analysing and discussing, most discussion is in the official information section, i suggest taking a browse, there are almost 30 000 replies to official information...gee we really are dead here, you can go read those responses and analysing if you want to. Here i will list a few topics posted in the last 2 days that are not talking about release dates. Not much MP love? - 119 replies Type of armed vehicles - 36 replies. Programming of the vehicle. - 46 replies. Street names. Police radar circle - 26 replies What if R* didn't make MP3 - 28 Fuel in V - 50 replies since yesterday. Other towns/cities - 12 replies since yesterday. Will lapd be Aholes? - 94 replies OCtober G.I - 120 replies since the 2nd Hired gun or crime boss? - 30 replies gameplay style 22 replies Oceans 21 replies Dat truck - 90 replies Nikos outfit - 49 replies Modern Rock-bands - 115 replies That is just for page one, there is approximately 850 replies since the 2nd of september, there is 3 pages worth of posts from the 2nd of September to now, so that is about 2400 posts or more. Man this place is like a ghost town, only like 800 new replies daily just in the V section talking specifically about V not release dates. Man you must have some spare time to read all those posts plus the 30 odd thousand replies in official information. Seriously even Call OF Duty forums is nowhere near as busy as the V section, and their forum is just random ramblings from 12 year old children with absolutely ZERO discussion. This place is far from dead, you are deluded if you think so. Wow, dude seriously? Nobody want's to see your numbers about what's been posted in all the major topics. Because we all know they get several thousand hits and comments. Did I say something to confuse you? RIGHT NOW: THIS FOURM Not many people online Not many good threads Not many comments in the main GTA V section / im not talking official seciton. What's the point of your "research"? It's clear you are trying to make fun of my deluded existence, but you fail. I've been here every single day for the last freaking 10 months, and a lot more back when IV was coming. I am allowed to feel the fourm is much more silent at this point, and I'm only talking about the period AFTER the last screenshots was released, because that's when most people dissapeared. And yes, I have some spare time. Cause I've read almost every single page written in the official fourm, you know it's not hard to do so within a year, unless you have some reading dissabilities. I will say, that was some in-depth research, but the issue at hand is, as Hvitdverg says, the very recent downturn after the discussion of the last 10 screenshots. So the nice research to do, though it may be difficult, is a timeline of GTAV forum posts by day, for the last few months. I think that we intuitively believe that such a graph would show a drop-off in the past 1 to 2 weeks. Furthermore, it would instructive to compare the shape of that timeline to a normalized version of the popular threads last year at this time, when school started and see if that accounts for most of the drop. Ye, I still find time to browse this fourm aswell during my time at college/university. The one positive thing about this "down" time, is that most of the annoying people has left the fourm. I have been on many forums that are truly dead. Eg 1 post per week etc they truly do suck. This one is very active, especially considering how long it has been since GTA was released. It's nice to get to know individuals a bit better, which is difficult when there are too many users, making too many pointless & repeated threads. I read your post. I just did not find all your numbers relevant. I am aware that this section is still filled with people, but it's been decreasing since the screenshots was released. I'm not saying your not able to read, I was just saying that you should not indicate that I have not read anything in the Official section. I can't stand all the pointless, regurgitated threads made by ignorant or nasty people. There are a lot of cool people on here but there are also a load of trolls and idiots. After the screenshots was released, all threads have low views, low comments, nothing new and interesting to discuss anymore. The fourm just seem so dead to me And I don't like it! Everytime I visit the forums there are countless new topics. They sure are the very same in the end, speculations & assumptions and wishlist, just titled differently. Also, this forum isn't the world. Most people out there who'll also get GTA V don't even bother creating an account to post what's on their minds (considering GTA). It's more or less reached the point where in most situations it's not even worth responding to some threads/posts because a lot of them seem to be either uncreative trolls or legitimately ignorant dolts. Honestly, I feel the screenshots were enough to whet my appetite and now I'm happy to sit back and wait - for the next "few weeks" thing, and release ofcourse. Had R* just released one screeny per month since trailer 1, fans would be more into it, but they went about it all wrong and now the fallout is showing. I don't even know if another trailer at this point would raise the hype to where it once was before. I mean some people moan about the job we do, but I've been on forums where the mods band together like some cult and treat others like absolute sh*t for not conforming to them. Even before being a mod I was a regular member for 4 years and this place has the best mod network I've ever seen for such a busy forum .
