So, what type of gameplay style do you want for Grand Theft Auto V?

Me personally, I want the unrealistic style. That's what I grew up with. I just loved committing so many crimes that a freaking tank would start chasing after me lol.

I liked GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, where it had both realism and over the top style gameplay.

So, which do you want?

Finally, A Topic about this that has the "BOTH" option.

You do realize that 99% will choose both, there will be a few that'll want to be rebellious and pick either or.

So your poll wouldn't yield any significant results.

Anyways, OT.

Something like BOGT and GTA IV mixed. Thus, I vote BOTH.

One that lets everyone play the game the way they want to. That means sitting on benches, working public transportation, and more realistic pedestrians than ever.

That also means having no fuel system, having magic pockets that carry as many weapons as you want, no traffic laws, no hunger, no jail time for free roam crimes, but having all of those as options in there for people who do want that stuff. This way, I believe everyone wins.

Also, I want rocket launchers, chainsaws, flamethrowers, tanks, planes (Which I'm getting), and a lot of other stuff.

I agree.

For me, it is both on this poll. I like the realistic style, but the over the top style is also cool. What I really liked is they added both of these styles into the ballad of gay tony and chinatown wars, and I think it really works out well.

As for me, I think there should be everything from a previous GTA game. Like, have the drug dealing minigame in V, have the chainsaw in there, have the tanks in there (lol), have some planes in there, of course throw in some realism, haircuts and tattoos would be a nice feature as well. Oh, and bring back diving!

I want over the top fun like past gtas had and a little bit of realism like in gta 4. I got a feeling R* will return to the over the top fun in gta v.

rocket launchers, tanks, planes (Which I'm getting),

I am preety sure that R* will put in Tanks. (I am pretty sure that Hydra came from a army base, and army bases are known to have tanks. biggrin.gif )

Also I am pretty sure that R* will bring the RPG and the Heat seeker. (To shoot down them Hydras in multiplayer. tounge.gif )

OT: I choose "both" (Being able to steal a cop infront of a car, and not gaining stars until I run over the car. biggrin.gif )

Rockstar's always done a great job at having an excellent narrative, first and foremost.

Obviously, they have the over-the-top (Jetpacks in SA) and the realism (GTA IV, all of it). In my opinion, they've always done a pretty good job mixing the two aspects together.

One thing I don't want in GTA V is an element so over-the-top that it detracts from the experience itself. Saints Row, for example, is a great series. However, I would not approve of streaking or insurance fraud (to their extent) in a GTA game. Over-the-top doesn't necessarily mean that you'd have to pick at the low fruit...

People who want realistic are nerds

I don't see why. So people like a different version of GTA, so what.

For me, I like both.

I want it more over the top than GTA IV, and maybe just a little less than Gay Tony. The story suffered because of the rushed "zaniness" of it. I really enjoyed that deep and mature story that IV brought to the table. If the game had more features and customization, it would have been perfect. More mission variety also. But for the love of christ, keep that SRTT mission sh*t away from the game.

If the physics and graphics of RDR had a child with the fun and mayhem of SA, we have a dream game.

I picked both. There should be realistic physics, controls, and gameplay mechanics. Over the top to me means: Hollywood action movie and not GTA 3 era/Saints Row/Cartoony nonsense.

THese debates are so lame.. the two don't have to exclude each other. You have all these different friends and mission givers in the game, so they could easily range from more serious to outright insane. I really don't see why every debate has to come down to two choices, yes or no, left or right, white or black. How about 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 different options for change. It may shock you, but not everything is the US presidential election.

The game could be realistic, as in no jetpacks, but still be comedic. Or realistic as in the way a movie action scene is realistic, or realistic in the sense that a hollywood action scene can't happen in real life. And there's over the top, as in the idiocy on this forum sometimes, or as in the idiocy in SR3 or the over the top of Crackdown which was pretty cool. Or over the top as in the last Rambo flick, which some could consider realistic as well..

It's a good thing y'all are not on the GTA V design team.

I've answered this question many times. I want a 50/50 mix of the two styles. People lately have been very clever at making duplicates of existing topics. I know this isn't your intention.

Probably a mix between NOT being over the top like Saint's Row: The Third was & NOT being so serious like GTA IV.

Actually nerds are the one that play fantasy games like RPG and etc.

Judging someone by the games they play does not reflect on someone being a "nerd". I could call you a nerd because you eat peanut butter. Is that fair?

Also, this poll is borderline window licker status. It's like saying Bugatti or Lamborghini... or both?

If it has the awexome detail of GTA IV in the surrounding environment and a bit more relaxed gameplay in terms of car/player customization I'll be happy.

Actually Sleeping Dogs is probably the best example of this. It has arcadish gameplay without being moronic like Saints Row yet the detail and tone are down to earth like GTA IV. It's easily one of if not the best non-R* sandbox games I've ever played because in so many ways it gives me that feeling I get in GTA IV, but it's a completley different style all together.

I'd love a hybrid of GTA IV/Sleeping Dogs to be honest.

I enjoyed sleeping dogs aswell, but the driving put me a little off. I'd rather have it be like IV, I just did not find it satisfying to drive around in Sleeping dogs.

It has grown on me, but if it had GTA IV style physics holy cow. wow.gif

I want a bit of both. I want the game to be grounded in a realistic universe but have the occasional fun and quirky mission to break up the seriousness but as someone said, I don't want it to stray off into complete idiocy like saints row.
