BrownBear
Hey, I'm trying to find a new decent gaming PC, my budget is around £5-600, can anyone recommend a good model?
friendly luggage
Is this just the desktop or do you need a monitor, keyboard etc?
BrownBear
Is this just the desktop or do you need a monitor, keyboard etc? I have a nice TV so I won't bother with a monitor, and I'm fairly sure I have a keyboard and mouse somewhere, so just the computer itself.

I forgot I even made that topic, sorry I ignored your comments. Would it be a better idea to build a PC or buy a ready made one?
friendly luggage
I would highly recommend building your own as you'll pick up valuable skills which will come in handy. You will also save lots of money and another great thing with building your own PC is that you know exactly what is inside it. Check out the PC building guide on this forum. anus
I second building your own PC. Much more bang for buck.

yoječ
Seeing as his budget is £500-600 and he has GB flag, I'd suggest he's from UK £150,18 Intel CPU Core i5 3470 Quad Core Processor - Retail http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-...he-32x-ratio-77 £143,74 XFX Core Edition Radeon HD 7850 AMD Graphics Card - 1GB http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-xfx-rad...-x-mini-display £58,50 MSI B75A-G43 Intel B75 Socket 1155 Motherboard http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-b75a-g4...-dvi-d-hdmi-atx £52,19 Western Digital WD5000AAKX Caviar Blue SATA 6Gbps 7200rpm 16MB Cache http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500gb-wd-wd...-16mb-cache-8ms £17,28 Corsair Memory XMS3 4GB DDR3 1333 Mhz CAS 9 Dual Channel Desktop http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-corsair...s-9-9-9-24-150v £49,86 XFX Pro Series Core Edition P1-550S-UKB9 550W Power Supply (PSU) http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-xfx-pr...-12v-fan-atx-v2 £15,73 Labelflash dvdrw Pioneer 219LBK 24x DVD±R, 12x DVD±DL, DVD+RW x8/-RW x6, RAM x12, SATA, Black, OEM http://www.scan.co.uk/products/pioneer-dvr...-oem-labelflash £34,45 Coolermaster Elite 371 Tower Case No PSU http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coolermaste...ce-case-w-o-psu = £521,93 This one should be pretty good if you don't plan to overclock the CPU. If you do, then I'd go for i5-2500k/2550k (or i5-3570k if it isn't much more expensive) + e.g. MSI Z77A-G45. xI Jakk Ix
-snip- With his budget being £500-£600 might I suggest the 3570k instead of the 3470. It's only £30 extra - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/29-4intel-c...mart-cache-34x-. Considering he said gaming PC. EDIT: Just realised you might need a compatible Motherboard, so it might be a bit more expensive. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-z77a-g4...-d-sub-hdmi-atx. That's £66.96 so in total it works out at about £560. That motherboard obviously isn't the best and I got the Asus P8Z77-V LX which is around £85 for my 3570k just last week. yoječ
Yeah, I didn't include the i5-3570k because of extra costs. As far as mobos go, I wouldn't recommend anything below MSI Z77A-G45 for i5-3570k.
BrownBear
With a PC like that would I be able to play more recent high end games like Skyrim, for example?
friendly luggage
With a PC like that would I be able to play more recent high end games like Skyrim, for example? It would max Skyrim with ease at 1080p. That graphics cards price yojo listed seems too good to be true.
yoječ
It has 1GB of VRAM and that's why it's cheaper than other HD7850s. If money isn't an issue it might be worth paying few quid more for 2GB version.
