Whether or not there'll be a server config parameter for that, I dunno. You could wait for 1.4 or use the snapshots... @oysterbarron: Not anymore. The damage lately is so random and over a big area, it's like 5 creepers were set off at once in the spawn tunnel. Glowstone shop and post office are now up in the nether, complete with villagers. If anyone wants to build a post office in the city and Sandy Boot, I'll place other ender chests there. We tested it out and the items are player-specific, so even though we can't exactly use it to trade items over distances, it will be handy for back-up storage when you're travelling around like food and tools etc or when you're carrying too much between cities. Edit: Restoring from this mornings map backup, we seem to have a slight flood issue.... Edit2: We're back, hopefully with no performance issues and a slightly less flooded map. The roof of the community centre has been collapsed to spill lava. One of Dnero's towers has been burned. The tall modular circular building has been smashed to spill it's water. Rown's house is a shell of its former glory. Various other little obnoxious things anround those areas. Mousetard (epoxi?) said he thinks it's fairly recent. There's just no point to griefing whatsoever, everything is logged so I hope the five minutes of 'fun' was worth being banned from the server.
