When the plugins are up-to-date and stable for this release, it'll go online again. What's actually going on with bukkit after the polava the other week? Kirsty Posted September 3, 2014 Author Share Posted September 3, 2014 We were using a mod similar to Bukkit called Spigot, it's based entirely on Bukkit and updates as it goes along which is quicker and good for us, but the plugins compatible are still only Bukkit plugins. So we could probably update via this Spigot soon as it has something stable out (probably already has, haven't looked today) but if our plugins don't work we will lose a lot of functionality. Apparently Bukkit was closed by the main guy who ran it (EvilSeph) and said they will no longer update, until Jeb and Dinnerbone took to Twitter to say that this guy doesn't even own Bukkit to be able to say that, because Mojang bought them out 2 years ago. Kirsty Posted September 4, 2014 Author Share Posted September 4, 2014 Apparently the original owner of Bukkit (who didn't join Mojang) has filed a DMCA request against them, so you can no longer download Bukkit, and in turn he filed one against Spigot too (since it uses Bukkit code) so that might be going down. Until the legal mess is sorted, there's no way we can update with mods on, so it's either vanilla or stay offline until it is [or stay in an old version]. Thoughts anyone? With vanilla though, we'd be stripped bare in terms of commands and such. No warps etc. No mod powers / permissions. I guess it would take us back to what Minecraft is meant to be though. That might have been there for a while but 'Lava Ocean' sounds like a thing we should enable for sh*ts & giggs. I don't mind either way to be honest, it's up to the people that are going to play. For things like TP, we can at least make use of things like command blocks to get to the far away places already built.
