W3BB13
I heard PP will be bigger than GZ (I hope so)... GZ is just a prequel; TPP is a full game, so it'll definitely be a lot bigger. Kojima confirmed that TPP will be over 200 times bigger than GZ. Edited April 23, 2014 by W3BB13

Daz
That is what I more or less what I wanted out of GZ, I was hoping for a proper MGS experience with the features from PW, such as base building, co-op, having AI friendlies and having more of a battleground simulator, with it being more gameplay orientated to get us used to the mechanics for when TPP comes out with the proper story. However we didn't get that. Especially as now we have random grunts, why couldn't we have a co-op partner? It really pisses me off. I really hope they give us more weapon slots in TPP. Only having one pistol really does my head in. Also the ability to drop weapon would be nice. I would love to go round with just a lethal and non lethal pistol like the old days without having to have a giant rifle on my back and hip. As I was playing the xbox exclusive mission I was equipped with an automatic rifle from the get go. Somewhere on the base I picked up a sniper rifle and was able to carry both weapons on the same slot. Not sure of it was because they were different types of weapons or not. But Ido remember carrying more than one under the same slot. The sniper rifle goes in the 'special' slot, as does the rocket launcher. But a separate weapon even something like the shotgun always goes on the hip, and there is only one option for a sidearm, which always annoys me in games, the fact I have to give up a whole primary weapon slot just for a pistol. The pistol should have it's own slot entirely, so at least GZ has done it right, but it is still not entirely right for the series, because we are going to want both lethal and non lethal as options. I also hope we can have more than just one silencer, because that sh*t breaking after a few shots is just stupid. They should allow a cool-down so that if you just take a single shot from it every now and then it won't degrade, but only degrade if you go fully auto and go over a heat limit. Which makes more sense. Either way, I want more weapon slots, that is my only issue. There is functionality for multiple, like with the grenade slot, you can have up to 4 different items. So why can't we do that with the other slots too? @FullMetal, MGSV Online, DO WANT.
Zancudo
You know that everytime you start a mission in Peace Walker you devise your own equipment according to a mission? And the reason why Snake carries 'only' one pistol is for the sake of realism and difficulity. Tranquilizer guns broke, because A) you have to shoot the bullets wisely and B) you improve your equipment stability in your base.

If I want to take two pistols I should be able to. You can take up to three firearms total, but it locks what type it want's you to have. You can't claim realism on any account for having only space for one pistol. I could easily get something else in a pocket that would be as small as C4 or a Smoke Grenade. It makes no sense in this game as it is free roam and not a very short linear level like PW. Besides they pushed non lethal combat in that game way too much. Mostly just down to trying to be a PG-13 game. This shouldn't effect what I carry though. Because if you want to complain about realism, then why the f*ck does this super bad ass military soldier only tranquilize people? It is a f*cking joke. Either way, I want two pistols, at LEAST, that is the end of it.

Zancudo
Daz, I can't understand your problem. First, if Snake was able to take two silenced pistols, it would make the game far too easy. You wouldn't have to worry about your ammo at all. Secondly, if you attempt to do a mission, you either do it lethally or non-lethally. If you run out of ammo on your tranquilizer ammo, then either you try to take guards down with CQC, find some ammo for your pistol, or say "f*ck it" and find some rifle or SMG in a magazine, and kill all dem mongols with it. If you run out of ammo on your tranquilizer ammo, then either you try to take guards down with CQC, find some ammo for your pistol, or say "f*ck it" and find some rifle or SMG in a magazine, and kill all dem mongols with it. First of all, how is it going to make the game too easy if I have two pistols? I didn't even say I wanted them silenced either. Besides the WU pistol has an integrated silencer, how is that not too easy already? Or the fact that I can pick up any f*cking assault rifle at any time? Secondly, you barely get f*ck all ammo as it is, and that is made a non issue due to being able to pick up any enemies weapon now, there is never going to be a point where you don't have ammo and you need it, unless you wan't to take the non lethal approach then it sucks. Do you not understand that I might want to switch my playstyle on the fly? That the missions are actually in large free roam areas that might go on for hours, and that we may not even get a choice in what we want to take with us, we might have to unlock stuff to be used? Either way you look at it, I want the choice available to me. I am already pretty pissed off they made the SMG a sidearm. The original way they did things worked well. You had to find the weapon type, then you could start using it. That added the difficulty curve, and allowed you to use any weapon in your arsenal at any point. For example there might be unlocks for non lethal kills on bosses, however not for basic guards. In that case I would want a good set of non lethal weapons, along with lethal ones. I want the f*cking choice. And even if you can pause the game and get a chopper to instantly drop a crate next to you with the gun you want. I would still want the ability to switch between particular weapons at any moment while in stealth or not. At the very least let us use anything in whichever weapon slot we want. That way 4-5 or so weapons wouldn't be a problem.
Zancudo
I still don't get it. You always start the mission with a rifle (lethal) and a tranquilizer gun (non-lethal). If you run out of ammo on both weapons, you can steal it either from guards or by finding it in the magazines. Why two pistols? It ain't a goddamn Maximus Payne, mister. BECAUSE I WANT TWO PISTOLS Because that is what I wan't to take with me, I don't want a f*cking rifle. In any other game I got that choice. I don't now. I really liked the lethal pistol in GZ, but I can't take it with me. Why? Because I need the WU tranq gun for tranqing f*ckers. Or say I wanted the WU pistol and the stun revolver. Can I have both? NO Anyway, I hear both platforms are getting the unique missions given to each, so that might be nice. Edited May 1, 2014 by Daz
Boxman108
Deja vu isn't anything amazing but much better than JV. I've already killed just about every enemy before, there's not much difference in killing bodysnatchers.

Daz
Haha, in reference to Deja Vu. The gun you find with the blue light didn't know what it did until I found the logos. FranklinDeRoosevelt
Wait, so GZ is not canon with the MGS universe? Because as far as they have said, or at least I think they said was this takes place years before Phantom Pain which is canon with the universe. That doesn't make sense. Firefly8000
They're talking about Portable Ops being non-canon, which everyone suspected anyways. This and TPP are most certainly canon. But when it comes to Kojima, who the hell knows.

tuareg
Well according to kojima PO is partly canon, but what he means by that is anyone's guess. I doubt even he knows. Though to be fair i think by PO being canon he means snake had a life between snake eater and PW.

Zancudo
Give a f*cking break, already. If you don't like it - simply don't buy it. Meanwhile people like me, hardcore fans, have a hell of a fun with this "demo", because it's great. I was personally more impressed with it than with plenty of full games. FullMetal
NightSpectre have you ever even cared or do you even care for the Metal Gear franchise? Have you been following it for quite some time or not?I don't think you can actually judge this product without being a proper MGS fan. I can believe people being totally new to Metal Gear solid that this is a total ripoff. For them they should buy the SAGA collection and play the living hell out of it. Realise how epic the series are and after properly playing Peacewalker get Ground Zeroes. Then it will be worthwhile. Apart from that... I agree you can finish all the sidequests/main story in about an hour. But what have you gotten out of your game then? If you want a linear A to B approach, finishing your mission asap with alot of action/guns blazing: go look out for your (in my honest opinion total garbage/crap) franchise which is Call of Duty. Nice linear recycled garbage with a lot of explosions and a pisspoor plot that takes itself way too serious/awesome.
