I don't think that Rockstar look at the forums to see if the hype die down and then suddenly they release something. They do it when they feel like it's the right time.

People always say that Rockstar strikes when nobody expects it. But lately, people are expecting new information every day now. Is that because Rockstar this time said something specific and back in July after the two screens, they don't? People really didn't see it coming last August. This would only work maybe the first two times and then people will get tired of being "jerked around" and just expect info any day.

 

The reason people are expecting info now is because R* told us back in August "in a few weeks or so". Well we have passed the "few weeks" and are now on the dreaded "or so". Which R* will take to the very edges of extreme.

 

Oh yeah, and because October is special to R*. And October will have been a year since V was announced.

I think the newswire employee made a big mistake saying "few weeks or so".

Ah yes that's true, end of October they announced it last year, right? Plus that they always aimed for a October release for GTA games, which some of them didn't make due to delays though.

I don't think it was the newswire guys decision to put it, higher ups probably sent the info along with what to say. Because how would the Newswire guy know when more info will be coming.

If GTA was a brand new franchise they would promote it to oblivion by now.

 

But they know it's GTA and so they think they can postpone new info until infinity and people will still run to the shops like stupid headless chickens on the day it gets released, and leave millions of $$$

 

If everyone pirated it maybe that would teach R* a lesson

I think there is an element of that complacency in there, but this time it does feel like something went wrong. Plus not even the marketing folk seem to have a clue whats going on.

I think we'll get some new infos tomorrow since it'll have been 11 months after the trailer. Back in November 2011, if I knew that we'd have this little information a year later I would have never believed it.

That is a massive understatement. Most of us sit in the corner sulking while drawing sequences of the game on pieces of paper quitely singing along to "I'm all out of love" in the background with a little tear rolling down our cheek.
