Ha! They're teasing us like sh*t, I bet they're laughing at us and reading this on their vacation. Probably they reached a milestone in the V development and they're having a deserved vacation.

They only get holidays AFTER the game is finished, not at certain milestones...

You sure? I think I read somewhere they get occasional vacations even during the development of the game.

Maybe it means that the majority of the hard work is done. Felipe Busquets is a "Lead Cinematic Animator" and he's on holiday at the moment. I'm not entirely sure what that role is all about but I'm guessing he deals with the way characters/objects move in the cutscenes and/or it could be a more general thing that consists of all animation in the game both cutscenes and gameplay.

Cinematics animator is basically making the cutscenes of the game and stuff. Maybe even the trailer.

Check his LinkedIn profile, he does more than that.

That's what I thought but I just wasn't sure if it applied to cutscenes or gameplay OR both. Anyway, I think the majority of it is done. Animations have been captured, voices recorded, songs been put in, weapons/characters modelled. The map has probably been finished now, buildings/objects in their proper places etc.

 

I think the game is finished in a way but just needs final touches, tidied up and polished so that it runs smooth as possible. Could be stuff like...I dunno...characters falling through the ground, walking through solid walls, stuff like that.

 

I think the game is very nearly done. What do I know though? Just a guess

I usually don't hate on Rockstar, but if their going to put out a statement saying "In a few weeks or so" They should try to get as close as they can, not wait even past the two month period.

I'd say even as early as this week, them going on vaca has got to mean something. I just find it weird they would let the fans know that they are on vacation, knowing the fans would think that's odd and expect something coming.

Like I said in my earlier post, Rockstar advertised for game testers (not 100% but I think it was ~100/150 people they were looking for) back in January 2012 for GTA V. Say they took about a month, two at the most, to hire everyone then they will have been working for 7-8 months by now on fixing bugs/glitches.

 

Oh, it was for a 12 month contracts which will take them up to January/February or March (latest) 2013. March is the earliest people are expecting the game now! I think the next 3-5 months will consists of bug fixing by the game testers. Once they finish the game 100% it will take about another month to make all those copies to ship out to retailers. That will take it up to about 6 months from now which will be ~April. Retailers need 4-6 months notice before a game goes on sale so they can prepare for preorders etc. Rockstar has to announce the release date BEFORE 2013 if it's to come out before April.

 

I expect marketing to start either October or November. Seems about right since that will be one year since the announcement/trailer. I think it's gonna be October since Rockstar have said "a few months or so". "A few" is 3-5 and "or so" gives them an extra 2 at the most. They can get away with 7 weeks from the 24th August which takes us to the 12th October. I doubt they'll give us anything on Friday 12th so the next day is Monday the 15th.

 

15th-25th is my guess for new info. If it comes sooner then I won't complain!

GTA V got delayed because of Max Payne 3, + add to that natural R* few months delay and there you have GTA V release date.

The point was if, buts and maybes don't cut it. Deal with the hand you have been delt with. GTA V has not been delayed at all as far as we know and this silly bullsh*t that folk come out with saying "heeer derrr it's because of Max Payne 3" is just that.

 

If you think GTA V has been delayed because of Max Payne 3 then you must also think R* big games after GTA IV was also delayed and why? Because of GTA IV been delayed from October to April. It's irony really. GTA IV delayed GTA V.

 

As for the release date I'm GUESSING May 2013.

I call bullsh*t. A few weeks OR SO does not mean over a month. A few, by default, means 5-6 at maximum. It's been 5 weeks, which seem to have forgotten so damn easily. My point is that the trailer came out nearly a year ago and all we got in addition was 4 sets of screenshots. I'm not upset at all. In fact, I just want a second trailer and nothing more. I don't think they should have given weeks as a measurment of time if they were going to take over a month.
