I think GTA will end one day, sadly. if they just keep making them bigger, what happens when Liberty State reaches the borders of San Andreas or Florida (or whatever state Vice City is based in). they seem really against taking it out of the united states, and eventually just making the games bigger and looking pretty just wont cut it. eventually the map will be so big we'll have a GTA:USA but I think that'd be the last one, because there's just nowhere else the series would go.

I doubt the GTA forumla would work outside of the US, they've only ever had one other city outside of the established ones which was London.

Actually the final GTA in my opinion, should be that you can and have to do missions in Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City and you could drive to each one of them (Which would take forever) or get a jet or get a plane at the airport and then go there.

Completely agree with this. But what bothers me is that traditionally and logically the GTA Trailer 2 is the MAIN trailer that affirms and expands upon information that we already know from media releases and magazine interviews.

 

So far we have none of this key information, such as who the protagonist is and thus the subsequent plot. Without this information I just can't see Trailer 2 coming.

 

Therefore, if we are hoping for a March or May release, if the next GI cover is NOT GTA V, I don't know what to think.

 

Part of me is exicted to think that, with October looming, surely, surely the media hype and buildup will begin. But we've been so starved I just can't see it.

I'm sure that would be the probably most expensive game ever. A extremely huge map means more music, more characters, a longer and more complexe storyline, a difficult traffic system, a incredible ammount of cars, motorbikes, bicycles, boats, helicopters, planes, etc. and many many more. The effort for this work would be incredible. I don't know it that will ever happen and if it's possible at all if it comes to the finances.

Maybe it means that the majority of the hard work is done. Felipe Busquets is a "Lead Cinematic Animator" and he's on holiday at the moment. I'm not entirely sure what that role is all about but I'm guessing he deals with the way characters/objects move in the cutscenes and/or it could be a more general thing that consists of all animation in the game both cutscenes and gameplay.

 

I honestly think that all that's left to do is add finishing touches, have game testers check for bugs/glitches and have the devs fix them up. For a game like GTA V I think this could take a VERY long time. The game testers would be issued a build of the game and if they discover a bug they need to make sure they can replicate it again and again (can be very time consuming). They would report it to the developers who would fix it and then issue a new build of the game and then the testers have to try replicate it again. Keep doing that until it's fixed or move onto the next bug.

 

It's been almost 9 months since Rockstar advertised for game testers to work on GTA V so I'd say they've been at it for ~8 months now. They should have a good chuck of the game polished up by now. I think we're gonna get an update soon. I'm 99% sure we'll get something in the next month.

Cinematics animator is basically making the cutscenes of the game and stuff. Maybe even the trailer.
