Gameinformer it is.

When will they announce the cover?

First Thursday of September

Lol lately it's been obvious but common sense lacks in these places.

Yup I 'believe' GI issue will be V. It's also a few weeks or so. 9:12 is 9/12 lol but I'm not even gonna worry about that.

Snake Without a Tongue

A few means five. I'm thinking new trailer at the end of September.

How long before the release did the marketing start for Max Payne 3?

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/tags#/?tags=27&page=12

They released a few Max Payne 3 screenshots in August, then announced a trailer and March release date in September.

It almost seems as if they're following this model down to the t. The only difference, we're still yet to get that elusive cover story.

In terms of Rockstar's focus over the coming weeks: The Disorganized Crime DLC Pack releases on the 28th. It's free but Rockstar will market it like any other DLC because they want to give it as much exposure as possible. That should continue only about a week or so after it's release though, which hopefully means we'll get a cover story or trailer early next month.

I think they are going to take two to 3 weeks to prep a second trailer, release it. then -maybe- give us a release date, or a big GameInformer front page special + reveal. we will see though.

2 weeks would mean "a couple weeks" and everything between 3 and 6 weeks would mean "a few weeks". There is one problem: Rockstar said "in a few weeks or so". That could mean anything. That could mean 6 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, etc. This statement is as vague as this "not be for a while" from the Asked&Answered on July 12nd.

Back in February when R* promised more info in a few months time, we got info exactly 5 months later.

We can use this example to give us an indication of their promised time period in a 'few weeks time'.

So I can safely and confidently say, expect more info before the end of September.

" OR SO "

if u put an "or so" at the end of a sentence, does'nt this allow u to do anything u want ?  it could be tomorrow.

"or so" implies something beyond the suggested time frame. Take "a few weeks or so", as "3-4 weeks, possibly longer."

Well, I guess we'll see more stuff in about 4 months. Seriously, every time they say a few, they always mean "Forever and a half".

I take it as 3 weeks but maybe longer, theyre not even sure themselves.

Worst of it is, it's looking like 2012 is out the window.

Gameinformer it is.

I think the same. R* has revealed just enough about the game for GI to come in with an article and additional screens without spoiling anything big while at the same time revealing much more about the game. This seems like the marketing ball is in GI's court now.

I doubt we'll have to dwindle our thumbs for 5 more weeks until we get a shred of GTAV info again. Remember, R* is likely trying to build up hype; not create it and let it die (again). They already have something going here with V hype building and MP3 hype long gone with no one giving a sh*t about the DLC's. However, if we do get nothing again, then so be it.

Let's look at the facts:

Rockstar said on February that more info will come in a ''few months''

Those few months lasted, 5 months.

5 weeks for more info?

That's Rockstar way of a ''few''

Conspiracy...

11 september new trailer will show up. Someone please call 911. This beast is getting a release date...

"We will be back with some more to see in a few weeks or so". Some more? Not pictures? = trailer 2.

R* are getting ready for the christmas sales.

I'm fine for a few weeks, this has really tided me over. As I've said, I don't want too much revealed about the game before release, and if they continue with this level of intensity from now until release (which I think will be March) there won't be an awful lot left to discover for yourself in the game.

Just the way I think. I even posted before you tounge.gif

People still do not know that R* said WEEKS and not MONTHS. 5 weeks is the limit, 6 weeks is pushing it and most likely won’t happen. 5 weeks is a short wait.

I don't think GI has much to with R*'s marketing plan this time. Yes they will get something, possibly be recycled info though, and GI's release of a magazine timeline won't stop R* from doing what they are doing.

Social media has more of an impact than a gaming magazine. Everyone looks at social media, hardly anyone looks at GI. Magazines are bottom feeders reaching for the corporate handout to slow their own death when it comes to print, online or off. It only contains new info for people not active in online activity. R* is clearly ignoring that medium as it isn't last decade, viral marketing is where it's at. TV commercial for the rest of the populace.

How many people here will only read GI if it has GTAV info? And certainly not contribute one penny to it in the process? Bet 90%

The marketing pyramid in T2's first quarter power point presentation included social media such as facebook and twitter and left off things like GI. I'm not saying I'm right, just what I think right now. I don't see the point when R* has all the tools to release new info themselves without feeding something else.

Feels like it would be charity.

GTA being featured in GI is not Rockstar marketing. It's news. Rockstar would do marketing with ads. See the difference? Just the same as newspaper articles written about McDonald's new food they are serving is not the same as McDonalds paying for ads in the newspaper telling you to try it.

Exactly my point. In a few weeks it is more likely that R* is talking about their second trailer than "news" from a magazine that makes money off reporting what publishers do. Not part of the marketing structure, and for people that visit forums and look to R* own website GI will offer nothing of any real value.

Just like video killed the radio star, social media has killed print.

GTAV doesn't need that much time to promote. The first three screenshots got it trending on Twitter. San Andreas' first trailer was on August,

and it came out on October 26th. If they were to release a FULL trailer somewhere in September, then (In my opinion) October release with a

last Launch Trailer.

When I was a little lad a few always meant two.

Now-a-days a few usually still counts for two, but it's starting to mean more than but less than four?

So I'd say give it about three weeks.

I've always known "a few" to means 3-5(maybe 7 at the most)

I've never heard anyone say "a few" and mean two I've always heard people say "a couple" when they meant two(considering the phrase is specifically for 2 and only 2 of something.)

But I agree it will probably be at least 3 weeks
