I dont think you'll see any NPC parachutists to be honest so this might hint us that you play a black/hispanic guy,

possibly the black guy running from the cops in the trailer or the guy in the red convertable!

Its because screens are DIRECT FEED from 360. They are not supersampled from 5k resolution. Similar how Last Of Us (you know, NDs linear game) actually looks.

The bike one's cool and i have one concern about the tennis one:

 

The rectangular hedge things look horrible. I dont care about the mountains in the background - all games have that, and no pc/console can render an entire game world in hd at the same time, the mountain's a "LOD"

 

But to hell with it, they look f*cking sweet!

I like the graphics, you can tell it's probably console graphics but they look as good, if not slightly better than rdr graphics.

 

I'm so exited for playing tennis on this! These are the best shots yet. When they said end of the week I was expecting friday!

The game looks gorgeous, regardless of technical limitations - this will be a BIG game. They can only do so much.

Graphics have never been a strong point for R*, Yes I do agree they could do better but like I said, Gameplay > Some stupid textures.

It's not like I play SA for graphics, I play for the enjoyment. Graphics do play a little part but it doesn't hinder the enjoyment you can get out of the game.

Maybe my expectations were more realistic.. I expected RDR level of detail, and this is very close to it.

ViceCityFTW: You're just guessing about those screenshots coming from a 360 but I agree that that's the most likely reason. But other than that, see the line above.

Also regarding graphics - regardless of my comment about the hedges, this looks great. GTA has always been a "good" looking game with great gameplay, not a "great" looking game with COD crap game play

Yeah, it indeed it. You can see on the right the bridge which looks like a train bridge. So, I believe, as you pass the bridge you enter the tunnel. Just insane!

The reason why trees and bushes (especially in distance) look worse is because of distance LOD. What it means is that things further away are made simpler, with less polygons so you don't need to render unnecessary triangles when you don't notice it very well. Thats why Last Of Us to has 2d wacky ass textured vegetation further, to get performance back.

Yeah and that's all down to directx 11 displacement maps.. and they only look that good in techdemos, which isn't even that insanely good. Now that displacement maps are sorted, that wood/bark shader looks kinda flat and bland.. there's always something./.
