Cover reveal delayed to Friday

Now that it appears the wheels might be in motion I would not be surprised if we got our elusive GI cover reveal in 2 weeks

 

October GI reveal is Friday, September 7th at around 12pm EST

The release date in October is a strech I will agree, but if the marketing is kicking off the way it looks, the GI cover would be very possible.

 

GTA's always had a huge GI cover during there marketing. And IF they decide to release the game this year a GI cover within the next 2 months is a must

That's the same thing they said about GTA IV and they still had countless magazine previews and online previews. What they don't show is raw gameplay footage.

Completely agree. Exact same as when the 2 screens came out, nothing is confirmed still but people feel the need to tell others and act as if it is.

As in.. later this week, we are getting more screens but how many? we don't know yet people say it's 3 because of 3 spaces on a site that means nothing.

i think its a clue, GI, G stands for 'grand theft auto', and the I stands for 'In' and the new screenshot has the word oct in it. its all come together now and makes perfect sense.

I think the information is about to start pouring in. These screenshots are just an appetizer for the main course, so to speak.

 

We already know GI is actively seeking to get a GTA V exclusive. I would't be surprised at all if GTA V is their next cover.

I can still see an October 2012 release, because we GTA 5 has already SO MUCH hype and we are getting information. Then again, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's a possibility.. I don't think we will see a release of the actual game until next year though. I don't think proper marketing of V will start until late October or early-mid November since they won't want to over shadow the Max Payne 3 DLCs which will be released right up until the end of October. The release of the screenshots today I think was partly to fill a gap between Max Payne info, New patch for Max Payne last week (that unexpectedly got pushed into this week for some users due to technical issues), GTA V screens this week and The Disorganised Crime pack next week (if they keep to their promise of releasing it this month). Full marketing for Max Payne 3 didn't start until the release of the first trailer last September (which gave a release date of March 2012), GTA is a more powerful franchise name so it will need less marketing so there will still be enough scope for a Late Spring/Early Summer 2013 release. L.A. Noire also had a similar time frame marketing wise so it seems likely.

But the screens have given us information. We know who the protagonist is (and if you want to argue that fact, you're just butthurt because we have to play as an 'Old Fat White') and we know that the game is pretty much done. The only reason to think that 2012 release won't happen, is that Rockstar hasn't come out and said it yet.

 

GI could very well have a GTA V cover for their October Issue, but I'm not getting my hopes up about it.

I think its likely but I dont really care since it wont have any info R* already announced. If we are to get a release date, it will be from R*.
