Is it just me or do these visuals seem to be way to good for current gen? Sure the Visuals will be toned down some, But I think some of the graphics for GTA 5 are a bit too good to be on current Gen.

I don't see why, if they optimised the engine the right way the consoles will handle it just fine. The most performance taking details aren't that detailed, for example the trees, but still better than IV.

It IS current gen, the debut trailer and every screenshot released so far were all rendered in 720p only.

Yeah, i know.

People are just surprised because it looks really good compared to other sandbox games on current consoles, you got to remember those are console shots (they are in 720p), who knows how the PC version will look like.

No it's just you. I mean really, you honestly don't think that these graphics are the est you've ever seen in a game scheduled for current gen do you? If so, buy more games, this isn't the best looking game imo.

I am not sure what seems more likely: Thursday is when R* usually releases big info on the newswire while Friday seems like a good fit because that way we start the weekdays with V and then end them with V. I am hoping for same as you. I want to see more shots of interiors.

 

My ultimate wish would be for R* to reveal all 3 screens and then the same day or the next day to put up a trailer countdown. But....

It will be one day this week. I wish everyone would stop with that certain day sh*t. They have released big news on every day before, whether it be GTA related or not, they don't think that way. IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. They'll release it when they want to.

Both of these games are current gen and they are truly breathtaking.

In game Gran turismo is miles better than Forza 4 but that just proves it even more. These graphics are not nex gen. I can't believe people think that when the screenshots don't look that good graphics wise. That's not what gta is about, never has been

Well the graphics in GTA V is the best we can get. Look at the screenshots above, Forza 4, we can basically say that all the game has to render is that car, since the environment is just a flat surface + some low poly montains. Uncharted 3 has an richer environment but if you look closely you can see some duplicate models. On the other side, the environment of GTA V is very rich, leaving no room for extreme graphics.
