I wonder why they included that screenshot of the Cheetah. Unlike the other screens it does little to hide raw edges. It's cool that they show us the game as it is but I'd probably have picked something a little less revealing. 

I think the Cheetah is the top car of V Maybe better then the Infernus

But i wanna see the other top cars as well

Right, a cover that only uses pics from the trailer, a side text (for the lack of a better word) on the case that looks like it was made in Arial (or a similar standard) font and a menu pic in french that has the logo thrown in to make it seem legit - even though no other GTA had that.

I think the next screens will be boats, the plane u can land on water, and some type of motorcycles or four wheelers.

Screenshots are ok, but they don't get me that excited tbh. This is just rockstar's way to keep the die hards happy and keep some heat off, especially with sleeping dogs release.

 

When the new trailer comes out is when I'll be reacting like the people on the first page of this thread like "omg omg awesome"

My only one problem is the leaves on the trees in that cheetah pic... Anyone else think they look kinda poorly detailed?

I think the trees look good, but I see what you mean with the shrubs. Meh, I still think they'll look good, just an awkward shot in the freeze frame. In RDR the greenery looks great (as I'm sure you know), but the odd time if you were at a certain angle, the trees/shrubs could look how they do in the pic you're talking about. But then if you moved they'd look normal again. I bet this is the case, but yes certainly a little odd they showed it like that.

 

On a side note, this has probably been mentioned already (I've read around 20% of this monster thread), but I'm surprised everyone's so hung up with the reflection off the Cheetah, and not on whats at the very bottom of the pic with the fighter jet. Maybe its just too dark to tell & my eyes are playing tricks, but to me it looks at the bottom like the city has just ended and you're getting into tall trees and potentially even a winding river on the right. Or am I just hepped up on goofballs?

I think the trees are not sufficiently detailed. Kinda look like the Sims. Hopefully, those will be improved.

this is exactly what I was saying, that house on the bottom right of the pic caught my eye and then I noticed how dark and creepy and alone it looked..IM f*ckIN HYPED!!

As much as i would love Ned Luke to be the main character i am still skeptical. Rockstar could be giving us misdirection you never know. It either could be a cut scene of the white guy flying while the real protagonists watches, or Rockstar could simply put Ned's character in the plane for the screenshot compared to the real protagonists. Im just saying you never know, Rockstar could be pulling us. Reminds me of MGS2, the whole game i thought we were going to play as snake, meanwhile the raiden twist was thrown at the gamers. I remain skeptical until i hear rockstar confirm thats our guy.

I'm glad they confirmed bikes and a Cheeta but we already knew jets were in no matter who's driving it ,I would have prefered a different pic.

I wonder about that too. With the whole Take Two predictions thing in mind...it makes sense to believe in a late 2012/early 2013 release. But that could change...it's all very unclear and it sucks..that's the only thing that sucks about this. I love getting new screenshots..but not knowing a thing when to expect it...sucks.

 

 

I just hope they keep a stream of info coming through while we wait. I'm even ok with one screenshot a month until we get the game or at least till we have a release date. I just don't want to wait in the dark for months again. I am trying my best to be patient but it is difficult and frustrating at times.

 

EDIT: what if Ned Luke is actually your rival ? The bad bad guy,lol? Just throwing it out there.

Cheetah's license plate has an October sticker and an orange registration sticker. In California, orange means it expires in 2013. So it was registered in October of 2012. So, that could mean that the game comes out either this October or October of 2013. I say this October is much more likely since I see no way Rockstar releases a trailer for a GTA that isn't due for another two years.

 

Edit: But, since the game is set in the present, why would Rockstar register a car in the future? They wouldn't. So, it's this October. Guaranteed.

guys, i think they've possibled changed the spelling of cheetah to cheeta; There would be too wide a gap between "a" and "h" if the "h" did exist on the car.

 

Thats 1 idea/theory/explanation.

 

There 2 other possibilities;

 

its a form of car customization

 

or

 

The car was involved in a slight crash, which made it lose the "h"

# 1 Even with the sunshine, one could see a portion of the letter or maybe even a silhouette(or pixelated part); yet we do not

 

# 2 look at the spacing between the letters; it consistent until at the end; the H should be visible and should be before the sunshine gleam(spot) yet it isnt.

 

Guys look carefully again; use logic and mathematics, the "h" isnt there at all; that sunshine wouldnt conceal the entireity of the letter..................
