What kind of settlements are you guys hoping to make? If there are any good beaches, I'd like to make a Fallout Resort Town next to the ocean.

How do you guys feel about the new Power Armor system? It's not just a pair of clothes anymore, now they're practically tanks that you get in and out of. I'm sure some people will miss being able to walk around in them all the time, but there will probably be a mod that lets you do that.

I personally love it. It feels like actual power armor now instead of a piece of clothing that had a higher DT.

Power armor seemed way too casual of a thing in 3 and NV.

Oh, you need a perk to use it. Big whoop.

Now, it looks like it's going to be something serious that you'd only use when sh*t gets real.

I just watched the 12.17 min Fallout 4: E3 Gameplay - EXTRA FOOTAGE - Crafting,Shelter & More - Bethesda Showcase 2015 posted at another site I frequent and noticed you can craft over 700 items or weapons at the work bench and build your own settlements and even customize your power armor, and the gameplay footage in the E3 video was mind blowing!. .vz2hiGf.gif

I well most diffidently well be buying this from Steam and well buy myself a $85 dollar gift card at the end of October to buy it for it's November 10th Release!..

Haha, better late than never :p

The annoying thing about the launch of FO4 for me is that JC3 releases a few weeks after, and the I'll likely be in Uni which isn't exactly the best place for loads of free time...this'll get played somehow.

I like the look of the power armor. As stated, it always was just more clothing with higher DT. I love how you "get in" it, and always thought - why do big heavy metal mech-suits become unusable after a few dozen shots from a pistol? How much ammo could you spend shooting an armoured vehicle before you penetrated the armour?

I imagine it'll be rarer than in 3/NV, though. stupidly expensive, too, probable. As said, something you'd use only when sh*t gets real.

Can you repair it with wrenches and scrap metal from the wastes, though? I f*cking hope so.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Actually, it seems like you can get it early in the game. Footage of the game suggests that you meet some people holed up in a building, and you're given the power armor to deal with them.

I think the power armor in this game would be more like a 'last resort' kind of thing. It doesn't look like something you could use while exploring, even if you have a jetpack and whatnot.

Whatever the case, this is clearly an awesome way to make the power armor feel more like just a piece of clothing with a high level of efficiency.

Each individual armor piece has a value between 700 to 1000 caps (depending on the power armor type) as seen in the crafting preview, so it'll be expensive to replace at lower levels. You would probably want to keep it stored away most of the time and really pick your battles when you do wear it, rather than wear it everywhere you go and have it eventually break.

I'm curious as to how Bethesda plans on keeping us from getting out of the game's boundaries with the new addition of the jetpack... my guess is that they will either use invisible barriers or large amounts of radiation to prevent us from going very far.

Brotherhood Outcast. I wonder if they'll appear in the game.

I hope BoS appearance will be trimmed as much as possible and Enclave won't appear at all. Knowing Bethesda it may be just an unfulfilled wish, though.

I hope there are some new factions that oppose to the BoS, i hate those greedy f*cks. Lets not forget, the BoS of F3 was a faction that does not entirely represent the goals of the true BoS, which only care about hoarding all advanced pre-war tech and possibly using it's power againts the common wastelanders, thats what the outcasts and true BoS members are about, and i dont like that. Those greedy f*cks need to die, and if Bethesda makes that a direction i can take it F4, then you better believe there will be some serious BoS carnage.

I didn't mind the enclave. They were a great source of caps and energy weapons/ammo. Only if they return i hope they're more in flux - the story being more dynamic. 3 basically said "THEYRE THE BAD GUYS!" and what I love about New Vegas is that there isn't really a bad guy. It's all perspective.

I don't mind the BoS appearing either. I see people nitpick too much about things like this. Like complaining that there's going to be Mole Rats again. As said, it's all about how they implement them.

I really liked the whole dynamic of New Vegas' factions, how they all had history with eachother, opposed or liked others... Walking in the Mojave was excellent because there was this rich history. Every place felt like it had a story, and most did.

3 didn't quite have that, though it did feel more dead. I hope 4 has a mix of both - and it looks like it has some bustling areas. With Boston being such a historical city, i imagine they would make the factions the same.

Back to powerarmor - it appears to act more like a "vehicle" - i can't see us carrying them around with us, folded away in our bag. I do hope that we can at least repair it with scrap or salvage.

The jetpack - i think it'll automatically cut out when you get near the limits, or that the jetpack will be mission-specific.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Yeah, I hated how the BoS and Enclave were the designated good and bad guys, respectively. There are two hostile BoS Initiates in the Fallout 4 trailers (one's in a vertibird, the other being targeted in VATS), so at least that's a good sign that they are an enemy in this game.

Don't see why people are complaining about Mole Rats returning, they're a signature creature in the series. So long as new enemies are added, that's fine by me. I'm not sure if Bethesda will adopt the faction reputation system from Fallout New Vegas, given the fact that they haven't really acknowledged that game at all in the past few years, but I'm hoping that they do.

I imagine you would be able to repair it in some way, other than using a merchant. The jetpack probably is mission-specific, come to think of it. It'd be too overpowered for use outside of missions. People would just jetpack their way from A to B in a matter of minutes without really exploring the land, and I'm sure Bethesda doesn't want that.

Fallout: Pearl Harbor

They all sound good to me.

On Topic: I'm a bit scared of how the power armor will work. No more zip-up power armor? There will probably be a mod for it anyway, but this seems bitter-sweet for me. I hope it's endurance is good unless, as speculated before, they had completely done away with the damage aspect.

Lock n' Stock

As fantastic as the game looks, it's not going to please fans of the originals (1 & 2, or even New Vegas) from the looks of it. Seems like it's going to feel more like Fallout 3 than anything. I know that alot of old-school Fallout fans dislike 3 because of it's supposed destruction of the franchise's lore, lack of choices, storyline among other things. I can't speak for them entirely since I never played the originals, though I know a fair bit about them.

I hope it's a choice to be friends with the Brotherhood or not. I love how Vegas gave you the ability to say "f*ck you" to a certain faction at any point.

I loved doing everything that pissed off the Legion before the free reset so I could unlock their safehouse for the extra stealthboy supplier

Hopefully they can successfully mix the amount of choice and characters/faction from New Vegas with exploration and set pieces from Fallout 3. I hope....

Fallout 1/2 were great but there's really no going back to how those games were designed.

having played 1/2 back in the day, I still found plenty of reasons to enjoy the sh/t out of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I always felt they were equally great but for different reasons; they're different types of games than the original 2 titles.

people who still complain about the lore or storyline not being exactly how they remember it need to simply pipe down, get over it, and move on. like who cares? then again I'm the guy who gets all pissed off when they remake a movie I loved as a child so :beerhat:
