Gamespot has an article up saying Bethesda confirmed 1080p 30 FPS on all platforms.

As Nuka states with that Twitter link, it's not actually true. A case of lots of publishers failing to perform and due diligence and just parroting sh*t they've heard elsewhere.

Bethesda just confirmed that the resolution and FPS are locked to 1080p and 30FPS on consoles and it's not limited on PC.

Still. At least it is releasing in 2015 and we have a date.

I pretty much gave up on that. For as long as I have been checking, it hasn't been in stock from Canadian retailers. I actually don't even think EB Games (Gamespot) had any to begin with. Amazon Canada has none. Best Buy sold out. Bethesda's own store is sold out but even if it wasn't the CE only ships within the US.

 

Yeah, I guess I can wait longer and see if more stock comes up but meh. I honestly just want the game and I don't see myself using the Pip-Boy. A great collectible, yes. But probably of no real use to me. The price in Canadian dollars is also pretty steep (160 pre-tax). So I decided I am just going to go for the game on Steam. What helped was I had ~$22 in my Steam Wallet.

 

I'd have loved the CE, but at the end of the day, I just want the game itself. I am sure there will be some pre-order bonuses going up on Steam.

Bethesda is saying more are being made available this week. I just got one from Best Buy. If it becomes available on Amazon, im cancelling the Best Buy one.

Well, I kind of hope Raiders are not this constant enemy. I hope they really build on the good/bad choices. When I played as my "bad" character, in 3, he kind of shunned society. I would love for him to shack up with Raiders in 4. Where Fallout has always let me be the dickhead I want more than other games. I kind of wanted to hang out with the Raiders. I know they in-fight and all that. But shunning society then shacking up in Rivet City was a bit weird. That we can build our own little home now is great - he can now live in the middle of nowhere on his own.

But will the quests/factions support that kind of thing - if you know what i mean. I've always felt the Raiders could be semi-useful.

I am pretty damn excited for the settlement building. That portion of the E3 reveal is what made my hype go through the roof.

 

It's funny that this is what made my hype go overboard for a game in the Fallout series, but I've always wanted to start my own settlement, farm crops, build defences, etc, etc. We can finally do that in the base game without mods. Going to be fun to make multiple settlements and trade between them.

 

I hope we hear about the settlement building soon. Todd Howard has said in interviews during E3 that it was "inspired" by Minecraft and the open world in FO4 was "inspired" by GTAV. I also read that if you need certain ingredients for a formula in FO4, you can ask the game to mark them on your map so you don't miss them when you come across them. Not sure if I am recalling correctly. Actually, here is the link:

So, if there's a recipe you have your heart set on you can select it so that "anything that fulfills the requirement gets flagged in the world: 'this thing will give you something that you’re looking for'".

I am sure there will be at least another trailer or two, if not more. They've only just unveiled the game and still have loads to show off. We just won't hear of it all at once, obviously. I am guessing closer to/around Gamescom in August is when we will hear more about FO4? Substantial information, in any case.

Really can't wait to see more about this game, and I'm glad I already have it pre-ordered.

I'm interested in the settlement building. If I'm playing as my now standard good girl/bad guy character, I wonder if that can be reflected in it?

 

Can i build a settlement to be lived in by mercenaries, with defenses that will stop any bounty hunters in their tracks? Could I build a huge sheltered settlement for the poor and homeless wanderers? Can I charge exorbitant rent for people living in my settlement, or let them do so for free? How will factions impact them?

 

I simply think it'll be quite passive - you build it, and people will come if you have the right things, with no character to speak of.

Considering the PR they are going to get/are getting from this, it's well worth one copy of the game. But I am really glad they did this, they didn't have to. And the guy deserves it after putting in all that effort and time.

 

I've been on a New Vegas binge today; almost at the end point. It's really hyping me up for FO4. I'm going to go to FO3 next. It's been years since I played 3.

My bottle caps number around a hundred i guess

 

Nothing to do with fallout, I open Beers and just leave the caps on my desk.

 

 

Goddammit though. I decided to stick with fallout shelter, and my vault recovered. Hit 25 dwellers, and had 3,000 caps. So I build one room - one room - and now I'm out of power - three power stations snd three water rooms l

 

Worst of all is the random Radroach infestations, that hit for NO REASON. And kill everyone. I had level 20 get killed despite armour and being armed.

 

They need to fix that, though I don't expect them to.

 

Have a gal coming back from deploring for 14 hours with about 6 outfits and 7 guns - nothing exciting, rusty pistols and military fatigues.
