I finally got around to using creation clubs TransDogrifier and turned dogmeat into a Husky , I have four dog skins now and  got two for free from creation club, the black labrador and Golden Retriever where free over the last month or so, and I bought the husky and  Border Collie dog skins!..

 

The Husky  dog skin has a light blue glow hue to it for some strange reason

I've seen this error message before and thought nothing of it because it didn't appear all the time, like once every three weeks. Now it appears nearly every 10 minutes, especially when I stop looking at the pip-boy. Now I can't open save files made in the last two hours where a lot of armor and weapons have been crafted.

I think I'll check out the new update today. Hopefully my game will run normally. It's the last time I fixed the 0kb error. I'll never try to fix it again. I'm sick of it.

 

Well they haven't added the new stuff yet. A Noir-type penthouse and talking automated power armor followers are incoming.

It seems to be different for some people, but for me the main problem and cause for 0kb is how many mods/creations are installed (i managed 49 creations just before problems started), so if anyone has started getting 0kb after installing new mods/creations then that right there is probably your problem, either try uninstalling mods, or delete everything and start fresh.

 

You may be able to fix the problems by deleting the entire fallout save folder (after backing up any important not effected saves) and rebuilding the database and unplugging the console for 15 minutes, then starting the game up and creating a new save folder by changing something in the options, then getting your backed up save from usb (one that was from before the recent 0kb error if possible). 

 

Another important thing i can say is that if you have like 40+ mods/creations, be very careful with newly released creations, only get ones you really want, or else you will encounter the 0kb error again. Skin bundles should be avoided if you have a large amount of creations already, as each individual skin counts towards your total amount (even when in a bundle). To make matters worse bethesda have done away with selling the skins individually, so they are going to lose out big time when people stop buying them because of trying to avoid 0kb. 

The first time i had 0kb was when the weapon skins released, which forced me to revert to a non modded character, same again with armor skins, but now i can't live without them, so i am limited with how many new creations i can get.

 

I'm not surprised with all the people who are getting 0kb, as all the bundles and skins are just making everything worse. Which sucks, as for me skins are very appealing, and i've had to miss out on the new (and alot of old) power armor paints and pip boy skins (pip boy skins i can do without, i only use onyx anyway) because i have too many creations .

They usually release new creations on a Thursday even if they update on a Wednesday, but there was at least one occasion where they released the same day as the update, so you never know.

  

I feel the same about 0kb, i'm done trying to fix it, i just hope getting the automated power armor doesn't mess up my game again (combined i think i have 48 creations/mods, so 1 more and i may have reached my limit), as i have 2 new player homes i barely use, i wont get the penthouse yet, maybe sometime in the future if they fix the problems. Another reason not to get the penthouse yet is because i can't have a supply line set up to them, so i have to either carry all my junk to my player home, or craft things at sanctuary, so until i get bored of the condo and nu cafe ola, i'll save my credits for new weapons/armor and other unique creations.

 

After the Automated Power Armor thing I'll pretty much only risk messing my game up again and starting fresh if something like the Service Rifle/Marksman Carbine or the NCR Veteran Ranger/Desert Ranger armor from New Vegas gets released (hopefully the guy who created the Anti Material Rifle is hard at work on one or both of those things).

I too have the husky and collie skins for my next 2 playthroughs; each fit my planned characters well. Not a bad creation

I'm still holding out for pugmeat to get approved* for the xone.  I have him on my pc but I've grown used to couch gaming...don't shoot me.

 

Thing I like about pugmeat is you can have him and dogmeat together.  2 dogs!  Yay!

 

*he's tagged as adult because of his penis.  Totally crazy.

I think the Husky would fit in at Longfellow's cabin, hopefully he can be sent there!..

 

Owe I bought the Nuka-Cola Collector Workshop and the Charlestown Condo earlier on this month and installed a mod that cleaned up Charlestown condo and made the workbench a full working version Cleaner Charlestown Condo (Requires Creation Club Mod)  with this mod you can change out the floors and walls  if you'd like, I tried already and did it with the diner part of the condo!..

I didn't buy the noir apartment for now. A player reported the apartment is right inside a supermutant nest downtown with no fast travel point.

 

The sentinel PA is pretty cool though, especially since you can make them follow you while keeping your followers. It comes with small extras, like a few new pipboy/PA paintjobs but I only found one magazine so far.

 

Do the misc quest. You'll get a new personality module. The standard ones are just sentinel, mr gutsy and aggresotron.

The noir apartment is in the 

Hub 360 building

and your right it has no fast travel point, but I know a mod author at nexusmods well make it a full workbench so you can send settlers and followers to the penthouse

 

I use  two teleport mods and so I set one of the marker/recalls or home marker to  teleport holotape  markers etc 

 

I couldn't figure out how to get the misc quest for the  personality module or The sentinel PA??? I did have three robot voices to choose from and one  empty spot

I'm on PS4 and I'm not using free mods anymore, all thanks to the 0kb error. The Noir apartment looks the best to me, but the location and no direct fast travel kills it. Hope they'll patch it.

 

As for the misc quest, I think one of the sentinel mission logs triggers it. Otherwise, head up the hill from the place where you hacked the PA suit, to the nearest antenna. There will be one more PA for you to fight. 

 

It's very close to that fireworks easter egg.

 

I won't spoil the hidden voice, but I promise it's the only one you'll ever use.

 

Edit: forget what I said! The main quest happens at different locations. Yours might have happened somewhere else. The last guy you kill has a holotape that triggers the misc quest.

Well, it looks like the 1.26 update has made the 0kb bug literally disappear. I played for more than an hour and haven't seen it even when hard saving every 5-6 minutes. Still, I'm being cautious, this is a Bethesda game after all, I'm still backing up my saves and disabling all forms of autosaving.

i would love to hear country roads in game. as well anyone can game a alt intro replacing the pip boy intro with this?

 

 i would like to remove the xbox logo cause doesnt make sense on pc.

 

edit so I tried doing it myself only problem is I don't get audio in game but in bink program I get vid and audio.

If you want to request Fallout mods, you would probably have a lot better luck on the Fallout Nexus forums.

 

As for my own Lone Wanderer, I recently finished building out Sanctuary on my latest playthrough. As I've said before I really admire the kind of time and attention to detail some people pour into their settlements, but I like to make it quick and simple. And while my game is loaded with over 120 mods they're mostly focused on gameplay, weapons, armor, and graphics. I don't really use any settlement mods because I actually kind of enjoy the vanilla aesthetic with the rusty boards and barbed wire. Some people go crazy and use all those fancy pre-war-restored items and objects which look great but don't feel right. They don't exactly fit into the theme of a ruined / scavenged post-apocalypse landscape. Next I'm gonna' build out The Castle but for now lets tour the main homestead.

I was watching Oxhorn's video last night about the settlement ambush kit and it's unbelievably bugged. "Looking" at the surveillance monitor then backing out seems to add several hundred days to your current month and several hours to the day.

 

And available to purchase 900 credits lul.

The guy on the right just finished  using the range, they only shoot for a minute or so and then leave

 

Settlers  do use it but well revert back to there old clothing when they  start shooting there guns at the range, I made a huge shooting range in Sanctuary, any  custom clothes you gave them have to be re-dressed or re-applied from there inventory 

 

 

only the shooting range from the Settlement Ambush Kit is working properly and the  fake  beacon tower with the  attacks and flags,  seen the oxford video and he mentioned the bugged camera's only

So I started a new game. Thought I'd try survival. But 2 things piss me off with survival:

1) you can't save or quicksave 

 

If I'm mid session, say infiltrating an enemy location, but then I gotta go to work or do something, I wanna be able to save. It's a basic thing that shouldn't ever be disabled. 

 

2) no fast travel. I get it. But who got time to run from sanctuary to sentinel island (or whatever it's called). Ties in with the above; if I got work in 1 hour, and want a gaming session , most of it is spent f*cking commuting!

 

 

So I downloaded a survival save mod and travel one. Seemed to work ok. Activate an item in pipboy and it saved.

 

 

Then came the infamous 0kb. So I followed a guide to troubleshoot it. Tried an old save (the saves I made with the mod did not load), turned off survival. Saved. Reloaded and saved with the mod. Seems to work.

 

For now.  

 

Is survival worth it or should I stick to regular and just pretend I need water?

You could install one of the "selective survival" mods, which let you turn on certain bits of functionality.

I'm using one, which has reenabled autosaving (but not quicksaving) and saves every 10 minutes, permits fast travel and has 2x damage multipliers and 0.75x health multipliers for everyone and everything, but is otherwise the same as normal Survival.

Also, as far as I know, the game will always save upon quitting. So you could do that when you have to go run some errands.

Ps4, mind. 

 

Thought I'd got rid of it but the 0kb is back. So it's not the survival save mod that did it. I'm beginning to wonder if mods are worth it at all. Just lost an hour settlement building because of it. 

 

Edit: it seems saving very frequently is - so far - holding the error at bay... hmmm

 

 

I found a mod - simple survival that adds thirst hunger and tiredness without the other crap  let's see how that works...

In a couple of months i'l be upgrading to PS4, I was thinking of getting FO4 but i've heard conflicting opinions about it, the only other Fallout i've played is New Vegas which I loved, but I hear that 4 is dumbed down somewhat, is it worth a buy?

It's a good game, people mostly hate settlement building and the fact that your character has a voice now which does dumb down the dialogue system a bit.

Fallout 4 is a great game but it's not like nv at all. Exactly as 1972 said. It's a game worth having if you like fallout. 

 

Don't be put off by the errors or bugs (4 is more stable than nv and 3 but bethesda simply aren't that good at quality (in terms of game stability)). 3 and nv taught me to save often (a tactic which seems to be working with my current problem)

 

Talking of which:

After the last occurrence of our friend 0kb, which occurred after I was settlement building and resource cloning (don't judge me), I reloaded and built again, this time quiting workshop node every five mins or so and manually saving (autosave is off and I've abandoned survival mode following sivispacm's advice). So far so good. The error had happened after ditching survival mode and thus the survival saving mod, so I do t think it was exclusively that. My current theory is 2 fold.

 

 

I think I'm leaving it too long between saving and doing too much in the interim. Thus the game is failing to save all the changes I've done. The cause of that is still beyond me but I at least have a theory. 

 

I believe it's being caused or exasperated by mods. Maybe I have too many installed (tried trimming the fat but I can't ditch any because I want them all haha) or maybe it's mods like USO which is simply providing too much data for the game to save correctly, thus causing the error or making it more likely. My previous play through (very heavy settlement building but with no mods, very long sessions, some with a while between saves and overwriting/auto/quicksaving a lot) was very bug free. So I'm sure it's mod related. 

 

My theory simply is too much data to save in one go, the game can't store it so assumes I'm out of space, triggering the "free up space" prompt but as I DO have space, I need to free up 0kb. 

 

Well see going forward how this pans out. Going to build a simple settlement as a home base for my asshole character (I know) then just wander and do random stuff, leaving most quests for a week or two to see if the game is playable. That way should I need to start from scratch, I won't lose too much progress. 

 

The error had put me on edge with me saving more frequently, more worried about the error (which wastes more time) and is really breaking my immersion. Hopefully my theory is correct and I can just play the damned game.
