Finally finished my Vault 88 underground settlement.

No idea why Steam is reducing screenshot size down to 1600x900.

That sh*t looks cool. Is there a proper 'vault' interior or just a more earthy style of settlement?

No, I basically turned the whole main vault space into a single wasteland styled settlement. The secondary spaces I'm starting to build out, including a farming area and bunker.

So "finished" might be overselling it.

I had placed a leaning guard idle animation next to the security office and beside the first aid kit in vault 88 and the guard found the spot and used it

IMP - Invisible Marker Pack by ghzfba mod was set to hidden by mod author at nexusmods site because it was corrupted and he's re-uploading a new fixed version soon this week hopefully

here's a up and coming highly endorsed mod, see link above , I started to use, and it worked, I liked the guard leaning against the wall idle animation marker, the guard is using the ones I had placed

That's a deep level of control. I like.

Would it help solve the 'everyone crowd around one random area' issue my settlements seemed to have?

Vault 88 had abandoned security posts because they were all gaming out by the back door to the power generator

Owe the guard had one of those vault L-shaped security desks and would go between the desk post and the leaning wall guard post near the security Office, I had placed a standing guard idle animation at a hallway T section and found him standing there too with his hands crossed like he had a gun ready, but was holstered by default

just wanted to let you all know that the mod IMP - Invisible Marker Pack by ghzfba is up again at nexusmods, the mod author mentioned he had to re-write the whole scripts for version 2.0 beta

in the first release it show you the default markers (in white) too, like hammering on the building , sitting on the ground and they where white and you where able to scrap them in build mod sense they where revealed by this mod once it was installed, but in that old version a message would pop up on screen halfway across the commonwealth asking what to do with those default files and that was when the mod went hidden at nexusmods site!..

Let's hope the bugs are gone on this one and it runs as intended

New batch of Creation Club content released. Doubt it will win any PC users over, but it's an improvement.

For 600 credits, there's a workshop DLC where you can build a donut shop. Besides new objects, there are new outfits, lore friendly quest, and a bunch of consumables such as donuts, coffee and skyrim sweet roll.

^^seriously considering grabbing this one someday soon. I'm on PS4.

For 300 credits, you get arcade machines and some new decorations and lighting. There was an arcade machine mod before but idk how it's called and how they compare.

For 500 credits, you get the Tunnel Snake outfit and a new classical Fallout pistol, which is somewhat moddable and has a unique variation too. It comes with a small dungeon and a lore friendly quest.

Quite expensive when you go with the cheapest credit pack, but for 13 euros you can get all three and still have 100 credits over for a weapon skin pack, for example.

I'd say it's worth it for 13 euros.

I have my eyes on these creation club packs below and well buy 5500 CC Credits - CDN$ 49.99 at the end of the month and have my eyes set on all these packs, see spoiler tag below, images took over a hour to re-size and organize and add proper bbcodes too

Yeah, I watched some gameplay of all 3 new creations and they all seem to add good content. Especially Coffee&Donuts pack, feels like a proper settlement DLC and by watching some footage I can already tell it's better than contraptions and wasteland workshop (WW was broken). It even adds fully animated workbenches and the new consumables give you stat boosts so your donut shop will be a settlement worth returning to.

I grabbed the military and BoS weapon skin packs while they were free, there are usually discounts and free stuff every weekend. Not tested it yet though, I startup both Skyrim and Fallout every weekend just to see if anything is free or on discount. I plan to return to Fallout once I'm done with NFS Payback.

Modular Backpack is the best dlc I personally played so far. Grabbed it discounted too.

As much as I dislike the creation club, I caved in and bought the modular military backpack. I think it looks great and its exactly the kind of thing I have wanted in fallout since it released. I used to love all the backpack mods when I played New Vegas on PC, but unfortunately my PC wouldn't be good enough to run Fallout 4. Maybe one day though....

Is there a mod that highlights where your power armors are?

Let's say I was a bit careless in where I left them, plus with months between play sessions, things can be forgotten easily...

I only found a map of possibly all the places power armor could be and it was a reddit fan who finished it or the map

I just started using a mod this week from nexusmods called Cheat Terminal by NexusAU gir489 it has 13,006 endorsements there, the move to teleport menu on it is huge and alphabetically organized for different parts of the commonwealth, possibly over 100 or more locations to moveto by the cheat holotape added to your pipboy, I've been using the storage container on it, and the holotape cheat Terminal spawns all the special weapons in it from companions and quests and looting etc

Hmm that's helpful for figuring out the ones I haven't found yet. My issue is that I've found some of them, used them, then got out of them and don't really remember which settlement or location I left them at haha!

I seen this mod last night at nexusmods and might install it despite it's low endorsements there, the residents sleeping on a shelve made me laugh

Update

I made my creation club purchases like I said I would in the spoiler tags of post #9489 above and a additional 3 bundles, see spoiler tag below as to what that was

I purchased the DOOM bundle a while ago on sale. The armor doesn't fit my character too well so I gave it to my follower. The BFG is a good weapon but I often ended up killing myself with it, you really need to keep your distance.

Tunnel Snakes is awesome, it includes my new favorite weapon of the game. It's an unique version of the new 10mm pistol but I won't spoil how it looks because it's beauty is something you need to see for yourself. It looks amazing and it's pretty powerful too.

The dungeon and quest wasn't that long but it's an improvement over the absolutely lazy inventory drops from the last DLCs. The jacket looks great too, especially in the rain. I like wearing a bandana with it or sunglasses and blast diamond city radio on my pipboy lol.

I own almost all power armor and pipboy skins. Bethesda gives them out for free every now and then. I recommend checking the CC on weekends to see if there's anything free or on sale. They also gave out the Military and BoS skins for weapons so I won't bother buying any of the weapon skins either.

Last time I played, I finished the Slocum Joe's quest, it was nothing that good but at least there was a quest and a tiny bit of background. Can't wait to build my first donut shop.

I also played on the Arcade Machines. Never bothered to play them on the pipboy. My donut shop will definetly have some arcade machines in the back. Shame that you can't tell settlers to play on them to earn your money, like those vault tec slots.

Overall, the CC thing is heading in the right direction, especially for PS4 players. The last update had some very good content for a reasonable price.

Grab the Hot Rod skin pack for free, Hellfire is 50% off too if you want it. Discounts like this usually last just a few days.

Ok built my first Slocum's Joe donut shop from the creation kit mini dlc and I also built a arcade from the creation kit arcade machines set too, the arcade dlc only had floor tiles and base set blocks and pictures and two colored chandeliers and a few light projectors and three pictures to it's set

I installed a mod that added the new tube type conduits allowing easy snap of each arcade machine to each other CC Arcade Cabinet moved power connector by MrTroubleMaker they snapped alright, but started to pull away from the wall further the more arcade machines you placed by each other, I just turned off the place everywhere mod snap keys F1/F2 and manually realigned the wall's from the roof

Seeing all these donut shop creations reminds me of when I watched a stream where they made a restaurant on Sancturary's river. It was on stilts and had a little area for boats. I've been meaning to try and replicate it but I've never gotten around to it.

Anyone got any tips for survival mode? Started playing it recently on PS4 and man is it hard. Even those bloodbugs can take me out in just one or maybe two hits.

Geesh someone at Bethesda doesn't know measurements and street view eye level reality and needs to learn how to size sign's 8j943w7.gif

I found the donut sign's and slocum joe's sign size where pitifully to small, so I re-sized them in console to setscale sizes, well include the in game screenshot of the setscale sizes I used to get the sign's bigger

the original size sign's are in the front and outer corners for comparison

Owe found the power conduit connection on the sign and powered up the slocum joe's sign

Just wait until you come across Molotov-happy Raiders and Super Mutants. The speed and precision they throw those things with would make Oddjob blush... and on Survival? At early levels, one landing anywhere near you means instant death, unless you're a power armor/Med-X addict.

Combat becomes noticeably easier in Survival once you've reached level 10, I've noticed. Until then, the odds are terribly against you, so you'll have to be much more cautious with how you approach certain situations, carefully planning how each enemy encounter will play out before they happen.

I remember my first Survival death was caused by me brushing up against a wrecked car, which I obviously didn't see coming.

Yeah I know what you mean about the molotovs, half the time I didn't even realise they had them until one lands square on my head and kills me. Glad to hear that it seems to get a bit easier at level 10, I'm at level 8 so nearly there. Really enjoying the added difficulty of survival mode though, it means you really have to put a lot of thought into where you are heading and what you are doing. Instead of just rolling in and shooting up buildings.

Could use a bit of help here..

I decided to do a second playthrough after being bored of duping cars in gta online, so I started a new game with mods [PS4]. Everything was fine until When Freedom Calls. After killing the first three Raiders I went to the locked door where Preston and the settlers would be. The game says kill the remaining 4 but they aren't spawning, even after loading the game and quitting and restarting.

Are mods the reason why this is happening?

I don't know much about mods but any major bugs I have had like that, it has been down to the mods. Sorry I can't be of more help.

For the dlc missions, is there a certain level I need to be to play them? Or can I go at level 10?

I learned how to build a second build kit from the Snappy HouseKit by robboten and co-author KKthebeast build mod, it is the high-tech build kit, see spoiler tags below for in game screenshots and the building it well replace!..

I'm tired of Bethesda's warehouse and barn build set, there to big and fuggly and none of the stairs fit and reach properly within the building's, once there built!,,

I think I found my problem regarding When Freedom Calls. Turns out I was using the Nuka World Quantum X01 power armour from the cheat room, before being introduced to the T45 from the crashed Vertibird.

I'm doing a pro-Institute playthrough for the first time... between the underground base, the scientists, obsession with eugenics, loathing of wastelanders, and the overall pre-War theme they have going on, they certainly do remind me of the Enclave. The fact that power-armored Coursers added by FCOM wear X-01 doesn't help, either... I dig it.

Automatron's questline is the only one that requires you to be a certain level. Otherwise, you can start the other questlines early by going to areas added by the DLC (e.g. the Nuka-World transit center for Nuka-World's questline).

Hell, I had "Far From Home" (Far Harbor's first quest) added to my quest log after reaching a certain point in the main storyline, and I have my character's level capped at 1.

Thanks man, might check it out now then.

One thing that really annoys me about this game is mines. They seem to be randomly spread everywhere! I have to walk around tapping L1 to check if VATs locks onto any, its a pain in the ass. Especially when playing survival and have been travelling for a while then suddenly I step on a random mine and die.
