Fallout 4

F:NV had annoying limits and practically impossible to save load orders. Load orders would mess up once you had a big list of mods and too many mods ended up with exclamation marks everywhere and flickering textures.

Though it was stable for a very long time for me as well, now I can't play it anymore though, once it broke, it broke big times.

Fallout 4 has been keeping up well so far, I'm on 190 mods exactly, excluding retexture mods.

The only mod I like, but will never get.

Just that one.

Do you think that someone could fix up a jet liner like the ones at Boston airport, an intact one? How cool would it be to see the Minutemen flying around in a [insert Jet Model Here]?

Ok, so a little while ago, the Vault Tec DLC released and I couldn't buy it at the moment, so I instead went to update my mods. One such mod, Settlements Expansion Pack (Xbox Version) or something like that, required the newest DLC to be updated, or it would cause issues in gameplay.

I updated, and then backed out, cancelling it because I needed to do some thing else in the menu. Now you are probably aware that uninstalling it that way will most likely remove my Settlement menu or something.

I can't find the mod anywhere in the Mods section now. Anyone have an idea what this awful game is trying to pull now?

It's still the sequoia. Care to make or link a better one? I looked for three hours straight for a buried one. That was it.

It's a symbol of strength. Long Live The NCR.

...And I missed one.

It could be possible. I mean, the Boomers from NV fixed up a crashed B-29 Bomber from WWII, AND got it to fly. I'd say if some prospector with the right equipment and a lotta free time fixed one of those, the Minutemen would get their jet.

Meh. I don't like the armor's look.

I'm surprised there isn't a unique laser musket in the Castle Armory, or on Mcgann. All the factions have a unique weapon, why not the Minutemen (unless I'm forgetting one). Sure, there's The Last Minute, but it's not the Laser Musket, the signature weapon of the Minutemen. What a missed opportunity.

Going on a quest to stealth kill the CoA in front of the Nucleus for free Marine armor for the Rovers.

In case you don't know, the Rovers are my version of the Rangers, wielding six-crank muskets and (now) marine combat armor. I usually have them stationed in high-risk areas, like all Far Harbor settlements, Somerville Place, Murkwater Construction Site, and The Castle.

EDIT:

With some expansion to Starlight Air Base and a lot of concrete and roleplay, a runway could be created. We could ally with the NCR and drive off the scum. I know that will never be canon, but I like to dream.

I'll put it in spoilers just to be safe, but it probably isn't necessary at this point.

Sturges will give you an automatic laser musket if you complete the last mission with the Minutemen.

I never got it.

Bugs.

And even if I had, is it unique? Is it a basis for the Minutemen elite? No, it's a reward to the General when it's the troops who need the beefing up. I got a Never-Ending Laser Musket, if that's anything. That thing is truly insane.

EDIT: It was a two shot. Excuse my blunder.

Yes it's unique, it's a legendary variant of the laser musket you're given.

So why couldn't they have made it feel like one, and made it be awarded every time. Imagine a minutemen insignia on the stock, or anything to make it feel unique. At the moment, all it is is a regular musket with a unique legendary effect.

To be honest, I don't see how this took 5 years. Perhaps the graphics?

I've been using the ship mod Skyship Welder by Blary for a while now as my base for dropping of misc items, food, junk, magazines, clothes, armors, weapons and Bobbleheads and magazine display, trophy etc point!..

I've built this same room about 50 times now below deck in the area the Skyship Welder that has all the rusted shelves and tires in it when you first board it, and I scrap the shelves and tires and I scrap one tile and make a additional below the deck room that just had shelves and tires in!..

Here's some in game screenshots showing my miner tweaks and build in the Skyship Welder see spoiler tag below

I change out one of the BoS chaingun statues for one T1 statue, there was two chaingun BoS statues here from the mod author

ldsOvLI.jpg

I scrap the teddybear on the sofa and replace the magazine racks, table and TV and desk fan with the pre-war liquor cabinet

O6pyjGf.jpg

I replace the Bobblehead stand with the Prydwen display case from Workshop Request Time by Ethreon

gaGASJA.jpg mod

there was a vault poster perk poster here and stove workbench, I replaced them with a white locker and orange rocket trash can

xSm1X6c.jpg

The rest of these pictures are in the area of Skyship Welder where the rusted shelves and tires used to be!..

I wish there was more lore in the Glowing Sea. There's a few interesting locations, but not much in terms of story. It says on the wiki that this area was a big industrial/military area, so why is there only one military base with little story in it? I expected so much more from it. Still a pretty good level farm, I'll give them that.

Just got Lost Soul: Aldersea Day Spa. The Tesla Rifle ripped through those bastards. I love this thing.

I can honestly say that I have never had a mod break my game, and I've used hundreds of them in multiple games, and have even made a couple of them myself. If the game literally breaks, it means I've f*cked up somewhere. Now I obviously can't say for sure if it was user error in your case or not, but calling mods in general unstable because of one bad experience is taking it a bit far.

Many experiences...

The chance of running into a mod that literally breaks your game is incredibly rare, and even if you did run into one, you'd usually read about it in the comments. If you're the only one experiecing issues with multiple mods, then I think it's pretty safe to say that the issue lies with you.

To be honest, I don't see how this took 5 years. Perhaps the graphics?

Bethesda is a relatively small studio, and you shouldn't underestimate how much work goes into making a game of this scope. They also continued to work on Skyrim until early 2013. Edited by Veroder

I never said it broke my game, if I remember correctly. Broke saves, even saves that were started with the same mods, and none were added.

Huh, just looked that up. Damn. I apologize for that one.

Broken saves and Bethesda games go hand in hand unfortunately, so that doesn't really surprise me. The combination of mods, frequent patches, and a bunch new DLC doesn't help either. After the game's fully patched though, that's when the real fun starts.

Corrupted saves are definitly not limited to PC's though, it's been an issue on pretty much every platform for as long as I can remember. I've never had an issue though, so I guess we've both been lucky so far.

Also, I suppose you've never played a Bethesda game on PS3? *shivers*

I miss the Unique weapons from F3 and new vegas, it was always fun doing a quest that rewards a new weapon that is better than the standard version, with a new look on. I like the way the legendary weapons and armor work in F4, but think the unique weapons like the overseers guardian, righteous authority, kellogg's pistol and ashmaker etc... should all look a little different, (even if its just a different paint job), and have unique legendary effects, maybe even adding a second legendary effect to make it feel more unique and powerful.

Say when you get Righteous authority (Unique laser rifle), it comes with a BoS logo somewhere on the gun, maybe give it a bit of a weathered look to it to show it has seen a lot of action over the years, But instead of getting the gun after helping Danse on the early BoS mission, it should be rewarded later on in the story, maybe after sparing Danse in Blind Betrayal to signify his end as a BoS Soldier. And to make it truly unique, either change the Legendary effect, or add another effect to the already existing one, Like you could keep the current "Lucky" effect but add a new one that does increased damage against gouls, super mutants and synths. Or you could get a bit more complicated and say you only get the dam bonus against those creatures if wearing a complete set of BoS uniform and combat armor (an even bigger bonus if using BoS Power armor as well).

I mean thats just one weapon i've spent 10 minutes thinking about, imagine how much better the unique weapons would be if the devs put a bit of thought into instead of giving them the default look and an already in use legendary effect.

No, I've heard the rumors and stayed the hell away.

Fallout 3: 360

New Vegas: PC

Fallout 4: PS4 & PC

Let us be happy the era of the PS3 is done so it will never happen again.

I have had 1 corrupted save in Fo4 so far, never in New Vegas or Fallout 3, or Skyrim. I play on Xbox One, and played Fo3, NV on the One and the 360, and played Skyrim on the 360

Added a Muzzle Brake to my Combat Rifle to make it look like an Anti-Materiel rifle. Works pretty well, wrecks things with stealth criticals.

Shame how a lot of weapons are useless end-game. Without DLC, you end up rocking at least one combat rifle, heavy combat armor, and a bigass fortress. Then what?

I finally delved into Vault 88, and for me it seems extremely overwhelming building a vault... there's just so much space that I don't even know where to begin or end.

I've literally had zero success with the tesla, modified as much as I can and it does next to no damage

Same applies to radiation effects on guns. Perhaps they do make a difference but before my enemies succumb to radiation, they've either killed me (marine armor and high level notwithstanding) or I've got bored and switched to a better weapon....

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

I did the same with an Explosive Hunting Rifle I decked out. The explosive legendary prefix may seem useless on a bolt-action rifle, but I've found that you can really do a number on multiple of an enemy's limbs per shot if you aim right (e.g., shooting someone's upper chest will deal severe damage to their torso, head and arms... likewise, shooting them in the crotch will likely send them flat on their ass).

Plasma Rifles are really good. Before mods came out, I used a Never Ending Overcharged Plasma Sniper to kill the toughest enemies. It only weighs 7.3 lb, but it does 120 ballistic and 120 energy damage; I could be wrong, but I'm sure it's the strongest weapon under 10 lbs. There's another upgrade called the Flamer Barrel that turns it into a Plasma Flame Thrower. That upgrade is an ammo guzzler, but it's fun to use.

The cats or the crashes?

I've also wondered what people in Diamond City do in their free time. Do they just sit around eating noodles? Getting drunk? I don't see many recreational activities.
