Actually it's more proof that this is not a hoax , the count down is stopping on the 11th of December , VGX is on the 7th of December (this Saturday) , the tweet says that Bethesda won't be at VGX but when someone asked him "Is the survivor website real" , he replied saying "you'll have to wait and see" , I also think his lying so to let people get surprised with the announcement

If Bethesda said "you'll have to wait and see", that means two things - that you'll have to wait and see, and that it's definitely not a hoax.

I thought it to be bullsh*t but up until today none of the copyright stuff was at the bottom...though the song makes me doubtful unless FO4's going to introduce a whole new universe with a whole 70's/80's feel to it. Oh well we only have a couple more days until we find out if this countdown in real.

this doest mean it will be set in the 80s, jsut like fallout 3 and NV were not set in the 30s or 40s

Actually technically New Vegas was set in the 80s and that worked.

 

80s songs are unlikely to be on fallout, without mods. Unless someone scavanged some old 80s records from some ruins in 228x or 229x.

Okay maybe my Batman gif wasn't enough. There's no way that is linked to Bethesda or Fallout 4. Firstly not even Bethesda would do something so monumentally dull as that. 'The 80s' as a cultural movement did not exist in the fallout world as society stagnated culturally in the 50s. Unless Bethesda are content in raping the Fallout lore even further than they did in Fallout 3, they're not going to do something as dumb as this. The only reason they would do something as dumb as this would be to directly attack Wasteland 2 which will have 80s cultural references. Secondly that site has its registration name and address covered, why would Bethesda do such a thing when they apparently happily registered the other site without any cover. Thirdly Gary Numan? Come on.

Look up your lore, bro. The whole point of the fallout universe is that the culture stagnated in the 1950s hence why the fallout universe has that aesthetic. In fact, what are you talking about, it's mentioned various times, why on earth do you think a civilization three centuries on is still wearing 50s clothes and using 50s culture? On a whim?

 

Even ignoring that, bro, let's address the ridiculous notion that they 'found some instruments and made that music' well no, another point in the lore is that the technology of the pre war era was nuclear based; energy and weapons are vastly superior in that universe, but computer technology is still in the transistor era therefore no digital instrumentation.

 

They're free to do what the want, sure, but if they give two f*cks about the history of the series they wouldn't do something so absurd BRO.

Well firstly Bethesda are terrible at writing and secondly they changed various plot points from the first two games, they ignored the game history, caused plot holes where there previously were none and in general made the story very weak. If you think the stories of Fallout and 2 were bad to begin with then I can't really convince you otherwise, sorry.

I just hope every single enemy isn't a bullet sponge. -_-

If I shoot some f*cker in the head with a shotgun, he should be blown back. That's fun. What isn't fun is running around tapping R1 slowly watching that bar drop down.

 

Raiders and stuff, they should have realistic damage. Headshots should instantly kill them. If they want bullet sponges so bad, leave it to things like super mutants. They should be more rare, like a mini-boss fight. THEN I should be using my assault rifles and miniguns. But for the average survivor, 1 headshot with a pistol should be enough. Two or three shots to the body.

 

The current recoil system is just stupid. If my reticule is on their head, the bullet should hit their f*cking head. Not hit 5m away because my "shooting stat" is low. I'm the one playing the game, I should be the one who determines my f*cking shooting stat.

FO has always had the RPG aspect to its game, its not a shooter, its not based off of your skills to put the reticule between the eyes but rather your characters skills... both 3 and NV you essentially start off as a fresh person in the world (in 3 you was raised in a vault and in NV you lose your memory). Try sneaking up on enemies and capping them in the head, otherwise you must build your shooting skill for accuracy.

The "shooting skill" should just be for people who suck at shooting.

 

So for example if I played and I'm good at shooting, I'd just leave my stat at its lowest. If someone who can't shoot very well plays it, then they can upgrade their shooting skill and start upgrading their VATS, auto targeting or whatever and have the game do the shooting for them.

 

Fairest way to do it imo. Pleases both audiences

 

OR, an even better way, is to have proper recoil (so if the weapon is fired, the reticule would nudge a bit) and things like that. Maybe allow you to hold your breath longer with sniper rifles etc. And have the reticule wobble a bit at the start.

 

That way, upgrading the shooting stat would be useful for everyone.

That's exactly what i've been thinking...well we still had 4 days on the countdown and i'm not giving up until then. I find it strange though. Only a few hours ago Bethesda said on twitter not to believe anything unofficial (for obvious reasons) then a bunch of people started bashing Steve Hines on twitter (Bethesda's PR guy) and then only now thesurvivor2299 changes to the rick roll...very strange indeed. I'm thinking Bethesda is behind all of it so that they think they can throw us off then surprise us with the announcement. Very unlikely but still.

Someone Tweeted back in January that they sat down with Bethesda and spoke to them about a marketing plan and they were blown away by it. So maybe it was about the 2299 site? I'm just a bit pissed by it all and trying to hang onto any little scrap that it might be Bethesda trolling us, again.
