Well, enemies actually use them against you now.

Also yes, they are more common than previous games.

I decided not to use that pre-war home mod, I tried to build a wall around the house with those government concrete barbed wire wall pieces from the sssex mod and it was too hard to do , plus once inside the house I kept knocking thing's off the counters and shelves, like the vases and it was to stressful walking through the house trying to watch I don't knock something over!..

In tell there's a lock items down mod, I'll stick with the war version of the home

How the f*ck does a kid survive for more than 200 years while sitting in a irradiated fridge without any food or water?

Makes no f*ckin' sense, as Frankling once said.

The cryo sleep is meant to completely freeze the person in time so it woke up in the exact same state as 200 years ago.

How the hell is Billy still alive?

I collected 6 or 7 fatmans so far. Is it just me or are these things everywhere? Munition also doesn't feel as rare as in the previous games.

Not to mention 'rare' loot respawns over time.

Well now having put almost 100 hours into the game free roaming (still: haven't set foot in Diamond City yet but I'm starting to feel compelled to).

This is a great and fun action RPG. This ain't a so great Fallout game. Fallout is a interesting and wierd franchise. It got taken off the 'original' crew's hands and to a different developer/publisher. They changed the game up yes, but they kept alot of Fallout stuff intact.

However this time around they changed even more. Yes, some core Fallout elements still remain and are well made (that's a massive understatement: they're immaculately crafted). Alot of core Fallout elements have been forgotten or changed so they're not relevant anymore.

Speech checks are really wierd now and because you can save pretty much at the 'exact moment' of trying it's just a matter of trial and error. Also you can make your character more OP fast. Not to mention the only big 'drawbacks' you have is either not having a high enough hack or lockpick skill. The rest doesn't really matter.

What they posted up in a Kotaku article, yesterday I believe, what went on about certain random events that catches someones eye. You go to it to investigate to see at a great distance something really intriguing and funny only for it to be completely destroyed by the fact it's RAIDERS doing that and instantaniously attacking you. And there's enough random things going on that would be real interesting for the player to obeserve without having to result into massive mayhem and combat.

Which I remember in New Vegas not being such a big problem. If you wanted to play a 'grey' character: neutral and having your own affiliations you could. You could actually observe pretty much what was going on and what NPC's were doing, even the ones that had a specific side. Without having to result into carnage and combat.

Also there's no karma I've noticed. If you get caught stealing you get caught stealing. If you don't, well you didn't get caught. In a way that's 'cool'. I mean if you really want to steal something and you can do it unnoticed... no one will know. So there's no huge penalty for that.

Ah well what am I saying: despite 'this issue' the game is still superb. Glad to see they're busy with home restoration. But as Firman said: I'd like to be able to start anew myself. Have the whole house 'pre war' and craft the specific Pre War items myself/decorate it myself.

Hell, maybe even for other homes.

Edit:

Holy sh*t this is the stuff I live for when it comes to Fallout mods.

Man, in a year you'll be able to tune the game to your liking like crazy!

I can't really explain why but ghouls don't need to eat or drink water. Neither do they age or anything like that.

The guy who comes around and tries to buy him says somethings like that.

Are you the person who's making all the dickbutt mods?

The sudden rise in dickbutts is rather alarming.

I wanted to collect bottles initially, but then I couldn't put them in a nuka-cola machine specifically made for nuka-cola bottles.

So I started vendoring them since then, after putting 5 of each on some shelves in my store.

Pretty glad I decided to keep Synth Shaun. The kid makes awesome mods and weapons for you just out of little pieces of junk. I gave him a telephone and he made me a goddamn Wazer Wifle, like holy sh*t.

Ok, started a new game since I already have the platinum thropy, and I'm lvl 67.

So I don't have to waste points on useless perks just to get the awards. (local leader)

Playing on very hard, because survival is ridiculous hard when low level. (I moved to survival when I was about lvl 35 on my other char)

Seriously it seems like a new game now, you know which items are worth looting and which quests are worth completing.

Thing is that it's super hard because you are used to play with a character that's next to invincible.

My other char have 11 base agility (17 agil with cunning, muffeled, shadowed leather armor pieces), max sneak and 8 ranks in us covert op perk. (still looking for those 2 missing)

Which mean that I can pretty much bump into enemies and they still don't see me.

Also with ninja and sandman maxed out I deal 5.3x sneak damage with silenced weapons, which pretty much mean I can kill any legendary enemy with one shot when I have max upgraded weapon with max rifleman.

And maxed out medic, life giver, toughness and lone wanderer, it takes a lot to kill me.

Anyway, now I'm playing with a level 5, wow it's hard as hell, I don't remember the game being this hard when I played it the first time.

It's awesome to start over, really really fun.

The replayability of this game is off the charts, awesome awesome game!!!

oh my god, yes.

I hated that quest with a passion. if not for Piper hating it, I would've sold his stupid ass to that passing slaver.

what a terrible quest design.

completely broke the immersion for me.

Should really put that in a spoiler tag, guys.

Seems Ghouls don't need food or water, they just need radiation to survive.

Get the perk that makes companions not able to hurt you. You can also upgrade that perk 3 times, where you can't damage them and they can carry more.

Has anyone else gotten to the point where the weapons are too Op?

In the beginning of the game I started using one of the assault shotguns as soon as I saw one in Diamond City, since then I've fully upgraded rifleman and I found a legendary assault shotgun to replace my original that has the perk of exploding rounds on impact. The gun does 239 damage, I have it suppressed which I can't recall if that's better or worse for accuracy but this gun just decimates everything, I find myself shooting at the ground/walls to take out enemies using cover because the explosive shells are so effective.

I'm curious if anyone else has found or built themselves a weapon like this, I know the spray and pray (pray and spray?) is powerful as well the overseers rifle that can be found in vault 81.

Seems Ghouls don't need food or water, they just need radiation to survive.

Remember Harland? He's the Ghoul trapped in the Repconn basement in "Come Fly With Me," in New Vegas. If you ask how he survived, he says he ate radroach meat, collected condensation off the pipes to drink, and relieved himself in a corner. Honestly, I think the explanation here is that once again, Bethesda ignored previous game lore. What I find funny is how defensive Pete Hines got when someone asked him about this quest on Twitter; he used some bullsh*t excuse along the lines of "it's a video game, it doesn't have to be realistic!" Anyone who uses that argument is clearly unfamiliar with the term "suspension of disbelief," and their opinions on fiction deserve no credit.

Aaaaanyway, here's an interesting mod for the .44 revolver. I'm not a fan of it in its current state (from what I understand, you automatically ADS when standing still, and fan the weapon when holding the aim button) but it's a really cool animation and I hope he gets it working with a better method. Would've been nice to be able to fan in NV, but even in 4 I still enjoy roleplaying as a gunslinger. Edit: seems to work well with this mod, as seen here:
