My settlement was attacked and it turned out, one of my people was a synth. The worst part ist, he grabbed my x-01 power armor. The other 19 settlers were just shooting him until some parts broke and he died right in front of me. That son of a bitch.

Now I grabbed the remains of my armor but can't figure out how to ressurect it?

So how are you guys employing your settlements ?

I've just decided to put all of my eggs in Sanctuary with all the others acting as artillery positions. I might expand when I'm fully satisfied with Sanctuary.

Also, is there a fixed EXP requirement for levels after a certain number ? I feel like I'm hitting about a level per hour at this point.

In trying to build them all up (as much as resources allow anyway) instead of just focusing on one. I've been working mainly on sanctuary, ten pines bluff, sunshine riding co-op, overland station, starlight drive in, hangmans alley and the castle at the moment. Been trying to give each one its own feel. Particularly happy with how the drive in turned out and how sunshine tidings and hangmans alley are coming along. Pics in spoiler

I've been thinking about how some people brought up Kellogg being from the NCR and how was it possible. Not sure what Bethesda was going for but it seems to me that its a nod to FNV and that they consider it part of their lore

Well, the Brotherhood can't be the only people to have have ever made that trek.

I saw it as a nod to the first two Fallout games more so than New Vegas.

What I really want to know is; was the Golden Gate Bridge meant to be some sort of hint ?

yes the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco where I live is a nod to Kellogg being from there,I gather also fallout 5 or the spin off could be set there(yes the "classic" fallouts allowed you to go there) Edited by Vaulttec

Yeah, you should take the cores out when you aren't using the suits.

Also, I have yet to complete a suit of X-01. I'm missing a right leg...

Damn, alot of you guys talking sh*t about my minutemen. Say it to m'face !

The minutemen are total sh*t.

You can find the whole x-01 suit after a certain level in an unmarked location building somewhere near goodneighbor. But you have to go trough a legendary senty bot..

edit: it's also the one I'm trying to repair now. I have the armor pieces in my inventory but how do I put them together?

When pieces are damaged and break off I believe you can just repair them with the Power Armor stand. That's how I always fix my armor when it breaks off.

Tell Preston to give my freaking loots back that he carried before he moved to the castle harbor. Now all he talk is fighting the softshell crabs and my strength is still too low to handle it. lol

Followers don't consume Power cores. They can actually use them without any in the suit.

But I'm guessing they go through fusion cores when they use the gatling laser, correct?I gave my follower a core and the gun and she didn't use it. Guess the A.I. can't put the two together. Edited by Tali vas Normandy

Figured it out already, I had to find a new 'skeleton' and attach the broken parts before I could repair and wear them again.

It's an open role playing game. If you want to play the role of a psychopathic killer (or jet cartel boss) you can. That's one of the things that makes it such a good game.

Also the super friendly synths.

The settlements are beginning to get annoying.

Yesterday happiness in Sanctuary fell to 58% it's back up to 76% anything can cause it to go down from having a jukebox or televisions in houses to fast travelling from within Sanctuary so i scrapped the only jukebox that i had, there were no televisions to scrap i got rid of them the last time happiness fell and i no longer fast travel from within Sanctuary, interacting with a workshop appears to get happiness to go back up.

The day before that my food dropped to zero after i had planted several types of food, installed lots of water pumps and raised defences past 100, instant reload food is more important than water pumps and defences.

Other potential fixes for happiness that i read somewhere included removing and rebuilding all beds, i won't be doing that i've got 38 beds in Sanctuary, removing and rebuilding all 38 beds would take too long.

The max number of settlers you can have is a base of 10 plus your charisma level plus one if you maxed your CHR and got the bobblehead, so 21 at the most. Having 38 beds is a waste as most will never get used. You should try getting rid of the additional beds and spacing the remaining ones out to no more than four per room. Your settlers are probably tired because even if a bed is assigned, sometimes it won't get used if it's not spaced correctly.

P.S. I have found the sleeping bag and the caravan and the compound I have also hacked Jacobs terminal

P.S.S. I have two different saves one I have did all the a above the other is where I have not discovered the compound

What I love about Fallout 4, and all the recent Bethesda openworld games in the last decade or so, is the dynamic chaos that can occur. Things that happen seemingly at coincidence, that are different when you add all the factors of where you are, who you're with, how you're playing, who you're friends with, and other random factors. Just now, within the last 20 minutes of playing, I had a really enjoyable experience.

I started out at Sanctuary Hills, in my bar. The whole settlement was hanging out, but I had to get to Diamond City to finish off the "Confidence Man" quest. So I found a clear wide open area and popped a vertibird flare. The ship landed and as I got on, I realized I left Piper at Oberland Station for one reason or another. So that's where I set the vertibird's destination. As I flew over the Commonwealth, I was receiving small arms fire from the ground, presumably from Gunners or Raiders. Nothing to worry about, with a minigun at hand. We made it to Oberland with little issue.

I landed and Piper seemed to know I was there to collect her, and approached. I said, "let's go" and we set out. Not far from Oberland, we came across the wreckage of what seemed to be a flying saucer. I assumed it was there for a while, since seeing the ship take on smoke flying over Sanctuary days earlier. And having my search for the ship end just short of Oberland Station. I looked around for a while, trying to find an alien or disintegration gun, but was interrupted by the sound of nearby gunfire. I ran toward the sounds to come across a provisioner from Hangman's alley being attacked by a Super Mutant. Piper and I, opened fire, cutting the Mutant down. We found ourselves on the road that led directly to Hangman's Alley and the riverfront.

I decided to forget about the crash site for the time being, and head to Diamond City. As I did, I heard the distinct sound of vertibirds. Two of them appeared over the skyline of Boston, as I got close, I noticed a figure on the ground. It's headlamp lit up, and I realized we were safe, because it was a fellow Knight of the Brotherhood of Steel. As we entered the neighborhood, I saw that there were powerarmored Knights all around. At least four. That and with the vertibirds, I assumed, we were in for an easy walk to Diamond City. But the vertibirds peeled off and headed east. Raining 5mm rounds on an unseen enemy, near what looked like Hangman's Alley. I ran to see what was up, and saw the tracers of the automated machine guns I'd set up in defense, firing from around a corner, as well as two Super Mutants in cover firing at the settlement. Piper and I easily took them out as we had them out flanked. We ran into the alley, where two more Super Mutants were harassing the guards. After they'd been dealt with, I ran out of the alley to hear an explosion. One of the vertibirds had been taken down by an unknown enemy, as the other flew off after them. The settlers of Hangman's Alley ran out to fight as well, but were knocked down by a blast from a nearby car that had been damaged by the crash. That ended the conflict as the enemy was either killed or escaped.

We proceeded to Diamond City. On the way we heard more gunfire, but the only action we saw was the corpse of a Super Mutant who was taken down by guards. I looted his caps and ammo. Piper liked this enough that she started to admire me, and said something about how much trouble we get in. We entered the city.

All of this, not one load screen, off-quest, and completely at random. A dynamic chaos.

Nice spoiler meme there mate, lol.

Yeah I realize that my question might bring a few spoilers, but the game been out for some time now and I think a lot of people finished it by now.

The games only been out for like 400 hours.

I reckon even if you didn't need to sleep or eat and just played 24 hours a day since release there wouldn't have been enough time to finish it. I'm level 35 or something and have only just got valentine.

400 is a large number, though.

Cracks me up how killing these coursers is so easy cause I'm part of the Institute, they don't even fight back when I shoot them.

Can we not do stuff like this? Reminds me of the leg sweep from new Vegas which was pretty useful. Maybe it's apart of the unarmed perk, which I haven't paid any attention too

How f*cked up this game is, I murdered an entire farm stead and didn't get punished for it

I snuck up on an encampment I had to clear for the Bro'hood one time, and it was only after tentatively killing a half dozen human beings in their sleep, that I realized I was at the wrong address, and just ended a score of poor farmhands.

I only recently discovered that you can do special melee takedowns on nearly dead human enemies by holding R1 near them while equipped with a melee weapon. I haven't seen that animation befote though.

I can't survive Quincy Ruins cause the Gunners there use some kind of explosive that kills me in two hits.

E: Was some douche canoe in Power Armor with a Fat Man. Managed to dodge all his mini nukes then took him down when he had no more.

Quincy Ruins is rough as hell, as soon as I got there all hell broke loose. A group of Super Mutants got there before me... there was green body parts everywhere.
