Fallout 4

I installed my first texture mod to change my pipboy color to a different color then tan

See spoiler tag for the color I used

It is now grey, there are pink, black and a red pipboy texture mods at nexusmods site too for Fallout4

The mod tell's you to alter the Fallout4.ini text file with this line sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\ located in C:\Users\username\Documents\Fallout4 and that helped change the pipboy color and of course installing the desired mod with the color available at nexusmod site helps too

Also living in your pre-war house I see? Yeah, I really REALLY hope the game (or DLC) offers the ability to restore houses or build houses in 'old pre war glory'. Or well, hopefully soon enough MODS will allow that sh*t.

Anyways... am I the only f*cker here collecting power armour? I'm 21-ish level and I found 4 power armours thus far. Only used Power Armour once (during the 'mission' with Preston Garvey). So far saving up and I still have 23 fusion cores.

Haven't even set foot in Diamon City. Deliberatly. I think I almost found every possible location 'above' Diamon City. The game is amazing thus far. I hear people bitching about it being a terrible RPG/Fallout game... and I can still believe Fallout 1/2 fans being 'mad' about the change in direction and how different the games are comparing Bethesda's to Interplay's Fallout games. But no matter how you turn it... it's a different company with a different take on the same franchise... and they're still more than decent games that are extremely enjoyable.

And yes the current Fallout games are more Action oriented. But that's not at all a bad thing.

I posted in spoiler tags on the previous page all the power armor suits I found

Speaking of Bethesda making stupid decisions, I found my first Assault Rifle earlier and it's left me feeling conflicted; it has great damage output and the ammo is plentiful, but it looks so ugly and reminds me of how very much I miss the R91 and Chinese assault rifles. I know some people like the retro-futuristic weapons more, but I greatly prefer the realistic weapons. I really, really can't wait for weapon mods to start coming out.

I know how you feel. I really don't like the look of the AR. It looks way too much like a water cooled machine gun, just in a smaller package. I'm using a unique version of the Combat Rifle, and I'm just destroying everything with it.( it has the armour piercing mod on it.)

But yeah, I really can't wait until guys like Millenia get their hands on it.

What level are you? I'm starting to worry that Bethesda level locked .44 rounds for some stupid reason. It wouldn't make sense considering I have plenty of every other type, but I wouldn't put any stupid decision past Bethesda.

20, think I was finding them earlier on as well though - just looting everything, really.

On another note, it turns out that when you plant crops they spawn harvestable...and you can plant more with what you harvest. On a completely unrelated note, my farm suddenly expanded a bit.

6 x 10 lot of corn in the back, aw yis

Don't think I have shortage of things to assign new settlers to.

This also means I won't really me running out of adhesives as well, which is nice ;)

You won't be running out of adhesives??? Are you telling me one of the certain types of plants you can actually 'harvest' adhesive from one of their fruits???

Holy sh*t I really need to step up my base building game. I checked out some people's bases/homes and they made some nice looking bases.

But really, it's rather sh*t how you can't always plant everything where you want to plant it. Still needs alot of work the system.

I've only found one complete power armor so far, saw one of those custom power armors but decided not to kill the guy and steal it.

I got some raider parts but haven't found any other power armors. Have been trying to collect them, I did get 4 bobbleheads so far though.

I'm mainly collecting rare misc items, like Coffee Tin (only found 1 of these) and certain toys and ofcourse the Vault-Tech lunchboxes (does anyone know if these are used for anything?).

I decided to start a new game too and I installed my first mods from nexusmods

I hate spending 45 minutes with lock picking or reloading my game to hack 50 times

You know you can you can just exit the minigame before failing, right? I always just pick 3 random passwords and if I don't hit it then close the terminal and re-open it, it takes like half a second. Same with picklocking, picklocking is extremely easy compared to Skyrim (where if you had low skill the bobby pin would break after applying minimal tension)

@Pat

Can you put up a screen or something? I'm really curious how it looks, the CETME Ameli stylized assault rifle(s) were great in F3, NV rifles were even better. I hope they didn't make it TOO futuristic.....

For those of you who don't already know, while hacking if you go through all the character symbols eg. -/:;() etc. You will find ones that highlight the same way when you hover over a potential password, these remove duds and sometimes replenishes your tries.

You're welcome.

With a cooking station, under utilities there's vegetable starch that requires 3 plants (corn, tato and mutfruit) and purified water which is easy to come by, and each one breaks down into 5 adhesive.

Unrelated note, lead pipe breaks down into steel (wat), but pencils do contain lead despite normally having graphite...I just wanna make mentats, dammit.

Note, the things you're highlighting are pairs of brackets - ( ), { }, [ ], and < > - usually with a load of random characters between 'em. Something like [[ ] also gives two, so watch out for those!

Oh, to highlight them you have to highlight the opening bracket I think.

It's really not futuristic, quite the opposite with the Vickers barrel, but I still think it looks ridiculous. As for the R91, it's more of a CETME model C than an Ameli. I should know; I own one myself.

pro
+map is larger,has more content than 3
+graphics/animations are a massive improvement.(still outdated though)
+The voiced protagonist is a nice addition imo, however i do wish we had more options.
+The shooting is way better. There's no comparison here.
+base building is madly addictive
+great weapon /armor crafting system
+no more repair BS,no need to carry around 20 hunting rifles and 3 sets of power armor
+speaking of power armor i love what they done with it.You feel like a true badass in it.
they shouldn't have given you a full set within the first 20 minutes though.
+they really nailed the atmosphere+aesthetics of Fallout here
+excellent soundtrack
+i like the new perk system too, your SPECIAL matters
+excellent PC port, runs great even on low end PCs
+ZERO crashes and NO major bugs so far

con
-outdated visuals as mentioned above
-lack of multiple dialogue options
-Big one,no weapon holster.I don't get why they didn't do it.Supposedly there were a lot of clipping issues with mods/armors/power armor but they could have gotten around it.
it Kills immersion so hopefully a mod will fix it soon.
-horrid UI,does not work properly with M&K
-M&K controls are not good.I rather play with my x1 controller instea

That deezer's lemonade <3

Kinda happy yet upset of the outcome of him after doing the quest in covenant. I had to slaughter everyone in town and was very delighted to see he didn't turn hostile. Although now it's kinda weird as he just sits there yelling about his lemonade even knowing everyone is dead. Not sure how business will go now but at least he don't have to worry about competition :p.

Would of been neat if we could told him to move to one of our settlements.

Anyway, just found cait. She is pretty great. Her little accent makes fun to be around.

 you guys are going to have to figure out how to better budget your time as you get older.

I might've played Fallout for like 24 hours straight if this game had been released 10 years ago but nowadays I got a job and sh/t.

#Sacrifices #Responsibility #Suicide

lol im only 6 hours into the game all because of vet day, my next chance of playing is tomorow

Ugh just made a metal wall pretty much all the way around my base, apart from probably a final 10/15 wall pieces. Ran out of metal. Now I have to go scavenge. Really don't want to though.

Hoo-lee sh*t.

The leader of The Institute, "Father" is Shaun!? What the f*ck! All this time I thought 10 years had passed, but apparently not. I knew there was no real concept of time in the chamber, but Kellog's age for sure had me convinced ..until I found his life expectancy was increased. It's all so surreal. I never saw this twist coming.

From what I've been reading on Bethesda's official forum, when raiders attack a settlement, they'll spawn inside the perimeter of the settlement, which means the wall I built around Sanctuary is pretty much useless.

Good thing I haven't spent too much time building my perimeter wall. Now I can use resources on other things

I ended up getting frustrated and hit "TGM" because I had gotten tired of dying and to be honest I just didn't feel too immersed into the game. I'm addicted to playing it however, but the constant strive for stimpacks made me use console commands to add caps and just buy a ton from Diamond City. I have already completed the main storyline and there was only one moment that actually surprised me. I do still like the game however. I just feel it's story is a bit too similar to FO3 for my own liking.

Stim packs should be reserved for limb damage. Cooking food removes the radiation penalty, so it is better to hoard up on meat and cook it. Hell, you might even be better off taking the radiation hit.

So i tore down my old sh*t prefab house and built this baby. The metal building infront is where my power generators are that supply the house with power.

And then i put some shelves up inside for the most important collection!

Haha, I know the pain of having to put the bottles up there, so well done.

I spend another 30 minutes getting 6 nuka cola bottles to stand up straight inside on of those wooden crates, time well-spent.

I wonder if you could join the institute , they sound pretty badass. Railroad seems badass too. As a stealth player im naturally drawn to factions who make me feel like I'm in an actual league of assassins. Railroad doesn't seem to have the league of assassins vibe to it ( at least not yet) but the trouble I went through to find them actually impressed me.
