yes, i plan on giving the queens_w update to the beta testers before the public release, i just haven't been on the internet long enough to upload it.

Now that you've finished the first island,you begin with Bohan or Algonquin?

After you finish the BETA 2, obvious

as soon as i can get queens_w packed up.... maybe a week or so, yeah i know, a bit of a wait.... but i will probably have way more lods done by then biggrin.gif

Its a shame that LODS are so difficult.

Theres gonna be pop ups always, but this time you will see lod while real mesh pop ups

Hellya i saw post by yurban on OLD iv2sa by vans and he wrote there that ipl tool is actually gims ipl tool in 3ds max but dont know how to use it tought

I think,it should be create,damn its IV in SA engine so why not ? we should make it as the same as we can like the real IV so,the feature should also be made.i believe hellya will happy with this ! biggrin.gif

I wanted to make a movie, but.... fraps decided i couldn't dozingoff.gif Yeah, 100 fps drops to 1-7 fps.... THANK YOU FRAPS! suicidal.gif

So bascially this is the progress (brook_s)

All lods models (except for the beach models) have been converted

About 85% of the lods are placed in the game already (didn't get time to finishing placing them earlier)

So consider brook_s done.... it will only take me maybe an hour max to finish it....

 

I think i may have found a faster way for me to convert them, idk, it's just so dry and boring to do.....

i get sidetracked... lol.gif But they will get done.

 

Also, i might not have all the props placed like i wanted in beta v0.2 BUT i will try to have all the lods, and the missing textures fixed for sure!

 

One last thing...... Your opinion on something... Should i make a v0.2.5 release? basically i wanted the bronx part of the maps to be included in v0.2 but that wont be possible. So should i work on bronx next, and make it a v0.2.5 or should i move on to v0.3 (manhat) and convert bronx later on?? Want do you want to see? I'm happy either way turn.gif

 

BTW bronx is the small island in the top right corner of the map... for those who don't know

 

EDIT: Fraps actually let me record a few minutes of gameplay, but with some lag.... so be warned.... i'll try to upload it tonight

I'd go for v0.2.5, which would include Bronx, LOD's for it, and possibly missing props that didn't make it in v0.2.0. Would be good little update. smile.gif

In my personal opinion i would like you to think it before doing it

1-Dont go to start a new island before you finish one totally, by this i mean all meshes+lods and fixing any missing texture

2-Once completed, add major props(with these i mean the billboards+electricity poles and lamposts/traffic lights)

 

Once you make sure first island is finished and totally fixed, try moving with another one of same size

Manhat is hell big, go first with jersey(alderney) bronx and bohan, then you can finally finish with manhat

 

Just giving out my personal opinion based on how big manhat is

Nice progress and the LODs are looking so good. I would go with vans suggestion, because it seems to be the best.

Do not work on other big areas, because that's a lot of work then and might be omplicated. But I want to say: Thanks for your hard work, I'm really impressed about this. Such a good progress and motivation is really rare. Good look on continuing!

I would go with v0.2.5 with Bronx for Christmas release (if pssible till then) and now you should focus on LODs and placing props untill 30.10 and after 30.10 , if some props are still missing i reccomend after every ipl change you give it to testers and on Christmas you release Bronx,queens,brook with LODs.

 

But i think you're forgotten nj_05 and i believe that you should finish it and add LODs for it too OR REMOVE IT FROM RELEASE untill whole jersey is converted.

well, i think i have decided to go with the next release as v0.2.5 which will basically bring stuff that was supposed to be in v0.2 but didn't make it. Also, the reason why i keep nj05 in is because i don't see why not, yeah it's not finished, and has some glitches.... but i will get back around to it. i just want to finish bohan & manhat first.

 

Also, here are some new lods screens... brook_s3 lods is done. (HINT* if you looks in the pic below, there will be tree lods too! biggrin.gif)

Also, I added & converted some more props for brook_s. Since i can seem gims & kams script to work with each other, to export wpl as ipl, i have to place props by hand which seems to take forever.... but there are some more props now added. Here are some screens for it:

And if the new private update doesn't work i'm sorry. I have just gotten so busy, and with the v0.2 release just around the corner, im just hoping i get the lods done, heck i might not get that far. Life has just got busy. I have spent the past 2 weeks doing interviews for a job, and now i have got the job, and project liberty in between all of that. It's been exhausting... but when i get free time i still do work on project liberty every chance i get. So don't lose hope! turn.gif

not yet..... i have just saw your post to see that it isn't working a while ago.... i honestly don't know why... i guess from now on i'll just pack everything in... suicidal.gif

 

Also, i dont know if any of the beta testers experienced this glitch, but this happened to me... anyone know what's going on?

 

 

i have also expreinced where just a black spot appears in the middle of the screen.... i guess something in gta3.img must have gotten screwed up.... i'm going to make it where no mod files will be in gta3.img anymore later on to see if it helps idk

 

When this happens, map models wont appear anymore either.... usually leading up to a crash
