Turn signals/indicators on GTV cars.

Recommended Posts

In my opinion it's a must have, adding turn signals would further increase realism especially if there are some drivers that don't ever use the signals, at least we would know before hand when the AI would decide to change lanes thus improving traffic, hopefully we won't need to worry about that, R* must have solved those problems already.

There are mods for previous GTAs but none of them permitted the full use of turn signals.

They were in gta4, no? I can't remember now. If they weren't, they should be.

Definitely not a must, but would be a nice addition

In GTA 4, I only noticed them when people were about to turn onto another road. AI needs signals for when they're switching lanes, I didn't like how in IV some guy decided to cut me off and I hit him. It's not a big problem.

And for me using them, I think it would be a bit useless, but a nice touch I guess.

On PC there should. On consoles I just think it would be a waste of buttons.

NPCs did have them in GTA:IV, but only used them for turns at intersections. They did not use them for changing lanes. I'd like Rockstar to completely overhaul NPC multilane highway driving anyway, because it was a mess in GTA:IV. One game that gets freeway traffic right is (astonishingly) SR2 (most of the rest of that game is still cack though). So, yes, a sort out of GTA's multilane driving should include the use of indicators.

As for the use of turn signals by the player, I'm not sure what purpose they would serve. I'm struggling to think of a situation in GTA's driving when telling the AI drivers which way you're going to go will help.

Convertible tops look likely to be in hopefully for us to use.

I think controls could be limited but they could switch the radio stations to up and down on d-pad and leave left and right for the corresponding indicator.

Obviously not a needed feature and there's stuff higher up the list, but would be a nice addition

I have wanted to be able to control to the indicators for a while now but for consoles which buttons would you use? If there are some extra buttons available I would welcome the chnage but PC users should definitely be able to use this feature.

The up and down buttons are used for your phone though, so I can't see a way R* could implement a fluid and quick way to use the indicators

Maybe they could become activated if a player has set a waypoint on the map, then the indicators would come on automatically to indicate to the players which way to go, same idea as gps in IV, this could be a good tool for players who wish to play without a map/hud, but don't want a gps voice constanly talking over the radio.

And as others have said, NPC's did use indicators in IV, so I doubt they would be removed in V

Small note, some cars in gtaIV did not have front indicators, e.g sultan, stallion and dukes, hopefully R* will incorprate all vehicles in V with proper front/rear indicators and reverseing tail lights, just to up the detail and believabilty of cars icon14.gif

Why? Just why do you want to use this feature? You would never use it anyway. So let the AI have it and that is it.

Yeah your right! convertibles, they hinted that you could do that on the trailer, that's probably going to be my favourite detail.

It would be a nice feature but unimportant. It would be nice to see it attached to full wheel lock left and right for the main character, but it would get annoying at high speeds, so have it act like hydraulics settling in SA and only work when cars at a stand still

Definitely not a necessity, I have always wanted them in GTA, but after playing apb, its like...its not THAT cool and after a few turns I quickly got over it and stopped using them.

NPC drivers could use them, the player could not.

It's pointless anyway. Adds absolutely nothing worthwhile to the game, kind of like filling up your car with gas, yet many people are clamoring for that to be implemented.

no, no turn signals but i would really like emergency flashers (2 turn signals flash together) to make the npc drivers avoid you when you are stopped.

Doesn't need to be on player's car. But on other cars, used when turning/changing lanes is necessary. Also, I'd like to see more front strobe lights behind the windshield/front grills on FIB, or other "special" cop cars.
