GTA IV had more but always the same. Id like there to be a randomizer to randomly make fat peds, white or black, etc.

So you would rather have Rockstar devote more time on Unique Peds, as opposed to something that actually matters?

They could just make 50 different faces for male civilians, 50 women faces and just randomize their clothing.

I think from the trailer you can tell that the're mostly randomized. However, if you look at the part when the pick up truck picks up unemployed/illegal immigrants at the underpass you can see the same person 3 times. user posted image

 

The first guy to your right sitting down... With the Cargo pants, looks like him again standing up a little later on.

Actually the one sitting is black, while the one standing is white.

Actually the one sitting is black, while the one standing is white.

It doesn't make sense, this is the same as in GTA: IV.

You can notice it on the fat women, they have the same fat shape and they are in black and white versions.

Peds are for killing.

 

Although in V I have a feeling there will be a lot more and doing more than just wandering around.

What is so funny about it? Can you explain it instead of laughing like an annoying kid, kid23455?

Have you ever seen the polycount of the peds? Their faces looked really high-poly.

And GTA: IV doesn't have a real breathing living city like the Times Squares in real life.

They can't do or the game will lag.

Each ped file has many different clothes, hairs and other so the game wouldn't have to suffer from lag.

Yeah there are no limitations with respect to randomizing weight and height and features provided they include in the code similar mechanics to San Andreas. If they do each pedestrian model, then it would be a slight limitation, but if the San Andreas feature system can be integrated with pedestrian models then there should be no problem with psuedo-randomizing them.

 

While we're on the subject, they should also psuedo-randomize the behavior of pedestrians. They already had different types of NPC's/pedestrians (such as violent or non-violent) but they should also include varying degrees. One gangster might be particularly ruthless and charismatic, attracting the assistance/help of other pedestrians during fights. What if this were included as well?

 

It would be cool to be walking down the street, and a very ruthless gangster starts a fight with you when you bump into him. His random pedestrian model happened to be a very tall, fat, black man. It would be very memorable and immersive to nearly get killed by such a unique pedestrian. (The chances of encounter are closer to real life!)

The guy is asking to have more pedestrian skins and/or models in the game. The processing capabilities of an Xbox or PS3 have absolutely nothing to do with that.

 

Rockstar could save 100 billion pedestrian skins into the game, and assuming we could get such a thing to fit on an Xbox or PS3's hard drive, it would have absolutely no effect on the performance. The system does not have every single pedestrian possibility in GTAIV loaded at the same time, it loads them as it needs them.

If the consoles can handle them, then they shoud make the peds do more things than walking around.

Other than that, I never look at the peds.

In IV they did a good job of doing variations of the same character model, like different style/colour hair, different clothes etc. So at a glance it looks like a different NPC & only on close inspection can you tell. It does make you think that the character customization could've been much better than it was.
