Miro
You most probably messed up the game. I recommend a re-install. Besides, where have you got the game from? Do you have any mods installed? Are you playing with the DVD in the drive? Have you tried removing the gta_sa.set file located in the San Andreas User Files folder? Tried running the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode or any other compatibility mode? Dead (Retired)
iLiR
miromiro's right. You should re-install your game.
Steccky.
I bought my game in a game shop 5 years ago.I was deleting the settings file in the Documents, I was edditing the compability and I also set an exception in the advanced system settings.Only mod that I have are some new and better graphic effects.I installed all those features from the Beta version and that's all. When I am in the Safe House, everything is ok, but when I come out of it it just stops and it says that the game ain't respondin', I can only play for a minute. As I already say when I start a new game it says that again, and the cutscene didn't even start yet. But if I reinstall it, I have to do all the editing again...
Miro
Then the mod is what is messing your game. Tried uninstalling the graphic mod and see if it works without it? Mods are know to mess up the game, and can never be trusted to not do anything badly. Has the game ever worked since you installed that mod? iLiR
But if I reinstall it, I have to do all the editing again... And that's why you should BACKUP your files before installing mods.
Steccky.
Ah well, I guess you're right, I will unistall the game.No other way, I unistalled the graphics mod and it was the same. Later in the evening I will spend 1 hour and 30 minutes for editing the whole game by putting all the features from the Beta version. Thanks for the help, if you come up with something that will be good for me post here. Regards, Steccky
lil weasel
Remember whenever you change the Published Program you are Modifing the Game. The San Andreas Forum is for UN-modded games. What we recommend is to get rid of all Mods/changes. Play the game with a CLEAN install from your DVD. And, play with the DVD in the Drive. Don't crack the game. If you don't have a problem with game play you don't have a problem. You may then install your changes ONE at a time playing the game to be sure the game still works. Then, you may install the next mod/change. And Repeat the game play. When you get to the mod/change that screws the game up don't use it OR go to the Modding Forums for help. Be careful to post in the correct forum topic, as they can get persnickety about that.
Steccky. Miro
It might be happening because of those Beta features you're installing. Try to leave them out and see if it works. If it doesn't, try defragging your hard drive. Dead (Retired)
Steccky.
The game works perfectly without mods, I installed the mods all at once, maybe weasel is right, I should try by testing right after I install one of the features.
