Who the hell is that anyway?

What probably a spambot They come en goes Well i hope for something today

Possibly. I was actually talking about the shirtless guy in the picture. I hate it when mods remove the funniest things that trolls do. I've been laughing out my chair today at all these shenanigans.

Today we'll probably get a story about a limited offer or something. I don't think we'll get any news while the world is focused on Gamescom, they need a moment where no competitor or event is craving for attention.

Actually if they release info on GTA V, GamesCom is going to be a complete madness (panic.gif); all of them geeks, websites and gamers equally will go nuts and be like: "OMG!!! Get off that fuggin' ACIII demo and watch R*'s website, they released GTA V info lololol Geezz!!"

Everybody wiill feel the need of see the new GTA V info.

I don't think so. GTA V isn't as big as we think here on GTAForums. ACIII is probably more anticipated right now.

Agreed, AC III is more anticipated because you can play a demo of it at GamesCom or E3, you know when it's coming, you know it's the better AC ever, but I do think GTA is as much as big as I think, I mean, R* releases 2 old screenshots and it's enough for most of videogames-dedicated websites to make a whole article.

If R* wants, they can take away the whole GamesCom storm to their Newswire.

No matter which is the most popular, I don't see what any publisher would gain by stealing attention from another publisher or exhibition. All the AAA titles being highlighted at Gamescom have the potential to boost the sales of gaming consoles, thus providing a greater consumer base for GTA V (especially pre-orders). Furthermore, the competition which arises from shifting exposure between different games facilitates further innovation and progression within the industry. Finally, stealing attention is a cheap and cowardly move and Rockstar is too good for that, no need to gamble with reputation. Hegemony is bad for business and will only harm the quality we pay for.

Gamescom means a lot of people are paying attention to gaming news. It's not about "stealing", but a publisher could take advantage of that increased traffic to gaming/tech websites.

Looks like it's not happening. It's 12:00p.m PST, and they hardly ever post past this time, for things like this.

This forum is mental honestly. Every day a group of people start a thread and claim new info is coming in the next few days. Yeah that doesn't happen. Just relax and ignore all of this until GTAV does pop up. The surprise will be better that way too.

And it would be odd if Rockstar took that "advantage", don't you think? Gaming exhibitions welcome publishers to come and present their products, they don't encourage them to start their own shows.

Would you really want GTA to turn into an annual franchise like Assassins Creed? It would kill it. I don't see why Rockstar have to follow the crowd. Valve are one of the most frustrating game developer's ever, but when they release a game, nine times out of ten it's gold.

Look, you're going to buy the game. I'm going to buy the game. People who said the GTA franchise was dead to them after IV are going to buy the game, we all would even if they didn't say another word about the game until its release. When they need to remind everyone else in the world who don't frequent gaming sites, they will spend a lot of money doing so. You won't be able to turn a TV on without seeing an advert for it.

Rockstar seem to only concentrate their efforts on marketing the game they released last, even if it didn't meet their sales expectations. They don't just drop it like a hot potato & move onto their more bankable cash cows (GTA/RDR).

Everyone is always saying, "Just wait, these next few days there'll be info, watch!" and after those days come and go, the process repeats with the next few days. So on and so forth until we actually do get news. Then people will claim, "See? Told you today would be the day we got news!" even though they just spent the past month plus claiming "today will be the day". Get over yourselves, the more you want info to be released, no matter how much you want to believe that today, or the next day, or the next day there will be info, you're only disappointing yourself every time. Just give it a rest for a little while, join in on other, worthy discussions on this forum and forget about 'when' we will get info. Just go along with the ride until you wake up one day and are surprised by new info. Trust me, it's better this way. Less disappointment, and more excitement when something is actually revealed.

I don't have a problem with the waiting but it's frustrating to see Max Payne 3 articles, exclusives and all this sh*t EVERY GOD DAMN DAY and sometimes even A FEW TIMES PER DAY!! At all a game that I don't play. Maybe I'll buy it but if I buy it then it's coincidence because I was in the near of a gamestore or whatever.

It could only help R*, it wouldn't hurt Gamescom. Anyways, it costs time and money to show at a convention. I don't think R* will do anything, but I could understand if they did.

I agree.

I'm not even getting my hopes up anymore. Every time we pick out a day for new info that date comes and goes with nothing new happening. #FACT is that we can't predict what they will do. It's obvious Rockstar aren't willing to talk about V just yet and they won't until they are ready. They've already told us this many times. Nothing we do will change their mind.

It is frustrating this silence but, again as they have told us many times, they are only doing it to make the game better for us! If they were putting out info on a regular basis then we'd be over saturated with info on the game. By the time we actually get to play the game we'll already know parts of the story, the character's names, missions, map locations, gameplay etc. Why do they need to tell us anyway? We know what a GTA game consists of. If I'm being told a story then I don't want to hear SOME of it then have to wait months to get the rest. I want to experience it all on my own.

I believe the game will be out by June 2013 at the latest. You'd be amazed at how fast that time will go in. I remember when the trailer was revealed in November. I watched it a few times and thought "Alright, I doubt this will even be out until at least October next year. I'm not gonna bother waiting on info." It was May 2012 before I really started looking for info again. I couldn't believe it had been 6 months already! I think I'll be doing that again. Just gonna try forget about it and go play other games.

This. Exactly both your posts.

I already joked a while ago that if we keep guessing like this, eventually someone will be right. But we've all already been wrong so many times that I have personally stopped putting any real weight behind these theories. They're fun and all to speculate about, but I am done expecting anything. I'll let R* surprise me! Whether it be tomorrow, next month or another year from now.

I'm not frustrated at all.. I just enjoy speculating on that stuff. I'm interested in games, gaming industry, PR, advertising, social media also for my work and in all those areas watching R* is watching a master at work. And it just makes a regular work day a little more exciting. I make a post and move on with my day to day. Just because some people like to sit all day on here have difficulty managing their expectations is not my or Rockstar's problem mad.gif

That is true. I understand people (myself included) like to speculate and that is fine, that's what we're all on GTA Forums for, but then to get pissed at R* and bitch because a theory didn't come true is a bit odd. It's not like they told us to expect anything on that date. We made ourselves expect something. Can't blame people for getting frustrated tho. It's been 9 months and we get MP3 shoved down or throats everyday as if the game is still about to be released.

Hopefully not
