stueycow
who thinks the other gta's car damage was a bit simple? i think if you get a chain saw out and stand on the roof and spin round you cut a hole in the roof ect... also if you fire a rpg at a building there ever takes the impact a bit falls of and a few roof tiles fall off (a bit like BF3) also if you want to rob a shop you get them tool where you can cut through glass ect.. post your thoughts and ideas
Frantz Fuchs
GTA 4 had good car damage. And GTA can not have destructible environments like BF3, it's a huge open-world game. Consoles can't handle it.
gtav nut
In IV i loved getting a hummer and ramming the sh*t outta some car to the roof all smashed in and beyond recognition.

I always steal a hummer and ram the sh*t out of people GTA: V won't have desctruble building, never has in the past GTA's but only when in missions. We will have to wait for GTA: VI when it's released on Xbox 720 and PS4.

Agreed. You guys try to expect too much from the game. Imagine the people making the game and having to account for all this. Vehicle damage was fine in GTA 4. It was as realistic as it could be without destroying your car after one crash. But there is only so much the consoles can handle processing, and only so much detail the game developers can put in before it gets to be excessive and not worth their time. Alenko
Gta4 had good damaged modeling, they should just build on that. As for damage buildings, as much as I want it, that would be more of a next gen thing. if they're gonna do it, do it right.
Troll Proof
Actually, in GTA IV, roads and other surfaces could be damaged. So I dont see how that could not be included in V.
theworldfamous
next gen is gonna be all about stuff like that. Right now, IV still does a nice job. They should add some smaller destructible props and cover like most games have.
Microwave
I would like something like the BF3 destruction engine. But a couple hours after the incident there are construction crews repairing it and after a day or two it if restored.
kid23455
The car damage physics are pretty good. They could be improved on, but they're definitely above average. As for building damage physics, f*ck that. Battlefield 3's "physics" of building damage are f*cking lame, not to mention that there are about 3 buildings that can actually collapse in the game. But look at Red Faction Guerilla, for 2008-9, those destruction physics are orgasmic, especially considering the game never skips a beat even as 4 buildings are disintegrating before your eyes. Still, won't happen in GTAV, we're a long way off before all games decide to start including destruction physics. Probably after this stupid "GRAPICS WIT 60 FPS" craze dies down. kid23455
stupid graphics at 60 fps craze?? Where? Uh...have you even played a AAA title besides GTA? Or even gone to basically any gaming news website? I mean people and developers being obsessed with making their game the "best" looking (Involving throwing a bunch of gray or brownish HD textures everywhere), and running at 60 FPS. Crysis. 1 in particular.
Afterburningwheels
Graphics really nice and buildings damagebale? This is not GTA: BattleField.
theworldfamous
no I haven't now shut the f*ck up. most games run at 30 fps, if that. only a couple of racing games and CoD have 60 fps. And that's because developers are obsessed to making their game look as good as possible.. they rather have it look good at run at 30fps than compromise on that shader or texture for 60 fps.
