They should be marked on the radar like in GTA IV. If you gain a wanted level, the police cars/helicopters/police on foot become visible on radar. Other than that, they're not visible.

Geralt of Rivia

Putting police on the radar would make the game easier than it already is.

I think we have some cupcakes on this forum turn.gif

It would only work when we have a wanted level

IRL we can use scanners and laser speed trap detection so why not in the game :0 also if we steal a cop car then we should have full access to all this cop information and location :0

maybe the scanners could be part of the customisation of the cars that we are in some having and some not. maybe after completing vigilante type missions we get acces to this upgrade.

also i plan to be breaking the law 99.99999% of the time:)

It's not very realistic, but it would suck dick if you finally managed to get out of a 6 star bubble and BAM, cop car comes out of nowhere.

I think they should add that as a upgrade. You go to a garage and customize your car, then you can also buy the police detector.

This will only happen if GTA V allows customization of cars.

Why are so many people against this?

The amount of people who complained in IV about being wanted after doing even the slightest crime being fixed, this would do it, you want to rob a car or something you could just have a quick look at the radar and see if the cops are nearby

Plus now this is only hypothetically and personally i don't want this feature, but IF they introduced traffic laws it would allow players to speed about without worrying about unexpectadly running into a cop! the exact same system is in the driver series and it works very well!

Best. Idea. Ever.

I nulled my vote because I'd like it if they became visible during police chases only if you are in a police car or have acquired a radio transceiver that can listen in on police radio chatter. Thereby keeping it within a level of realism but giving you that edge later in the game when you might really need it.

EDIT: Just noticed Noid449 and Stinky12 already brought this idea up, that'll teach me to read through the posts before replying lol.

There should be options instead of one choice. I vote for the option to turn it off or on.

Not another option for GTA. Literally every suggestion or idea ends up with people saying "Maybe there could be an option to turn it on or off." The game needs to be made the way it will be made, no options to turn every little detail on or off.

It should be similar to GTA 4, you can't see them on the map, but it would be cool to possibly buy as an upgrade for your car through customization, a radar detector, showing cop cars within a small range around you. And if you get into a police car, all cops on the map should be visible, but a dull color to show that they are not active and after you.

You should be able to have a police detector in your car, then if you see a police car near you, you must slow down and respect the law. Like in real life colgate.gif

No, what is this Driver 4? let's juat keep it classic gta, it's not like gta cops pull you over for speeding or anything.

I like the system they applied in IV, so hopefully it's the same. RDR had a similar system.

What the f*ck are you talking about? There's already an option to turn the HUD off and on so why would they take that out? Besides what kind of moron wouldn't want options in the game?

Same as in IV, but there should be less of them when patroling. It feels more realistic.

I disagree. I think they should make the game more customisable and therefore more suitable to the player which I believe can make the game much better instead of being stuck with/without certain features.

I'd actually kind of rather they weren't marked on the map, ever.

I'm not even a "super realism" fan, but having to keep an eye on the minimap to track cops while escaping always felt a bit stupid.

I don't really care. I'm hoping they fix it so police don't spawn right next to you when trying to get away.

I dont know why people dont want the blips at all. If a police car is running lights and sirens, you are going to know where its comming from anyway. GTA 4's blip system for police were fine, however the police it's self could use an update.

Yes I would like them to appear But only if The police are After you otherwise their Blips should remain invisible!

...well...to be honest i don't want to know exactly where the cops are, id rather prefer it being kept as a secret, so when cops approach me it'd be an unpleasant surprise, however thats not the only reason i don't want their cars being marked! Another is it'd getting on my nerves having to keep track looking at the radar checking if they're approaching me or not, this would be too annoying and distracting...

Yes and ONLY if we are breaking laws and have a two-star wanted level. I loved the IV era wanted level with all those flashing lights and marked cop cars on the radar... cool.gifcool.gif
