If you want the best experience, get it for PC. If you want an inferior experience, get it for console. Pretty simple.

jnzooger and redx165: Why are you arguing over discs?! I don't mind having to insert a separate disc its not that big of a deal -.- as for platform I am probably going to get the Xbox 360 version (assuming it comes out on the 360) because GTA IV was much better imo. Controls were great, game play/story was awesome, the city was alive, and many other things. Hopefully GTA V will be great too.

@everyone saying upgrade my pc: I will in the future (depending on the job pay and what not) but I am going for the 360 version for now anyway. REMEMBER graphics and FPS are not everything tounge.gif - I played GTA IV on a large CRT TV and dealt with jaggies for a while but then I got a small HDTV but I enjoyed both equally I still like to play on the CRT TV (you know the fat ones that can crush you with ease) for the bigger screen.

The reason I was cause he thinks GTA V will be on 1 disc. 8 GB to hold Rockstars Biggest game ever. Yea right.

Hope to god no "PC wins consoles suck" losers come and start flamewars.

OT: I would say PC for modding and maybe better performance, I don't know, always get my GTA's for PS3, just like it that way.

As predicted we've found the first fanboy -.- ...

EDIT: hmm... will I need to beat GTA SA to understand GTA V?

Actually preparing for a PC build next year, and hopefully by the time I build it, GTA V will be out on PC by then.

I'll still get GTA V for the Xbox 360, just to be traditional. But I will play it on the PC as I move into PC gaming..

All I'm doing with that is pointing out that he is using speculation as fact. No one knows how many discs will be involved on any console and thus should not be taken into account.

As far as your original post and the 2nd half of this one, both the PC and 360 versions have the same method of controls as they can both use the 360 controller, the onscreen info even changes when you switch to controller on PC, and you can possibly hook up your PC to the TV. So if those are your only two deciding issues, then you are probably best going with the 360 version since you already have the 360. However if you are looking for the other things I listed in my first reply, you'd be best going the PC route.

@InstantCClassic: I know how you feel about tradition there, I will be getting it for 360, PS3 and PC like I always do, and if it comes to Wii U as well. I have to get every version just to have it.

PS3 isn't the lead console. RAGE was made on 360 so obviously they are going to make it on the console that is most optimized with their engine.

Based on the precedent of GTA releases, chances are we won't see the PC version until 7 months after the console releases, so I would say get the 360 version initially. Then, if you have a decent enough PC by the time the PC version is released, buy the game again for the improved visuals and modding.

So yeah, my opinion is that you buy both versions, unless by outside chance they are released within a couple weeks of each other.

It could happen this time round tho, no?

I mean, MP3 released on PC just 2 weeks after the console version (and that was due to a delay) and the things are already in place to develop it on PC engine wise. MP3 did well on PC and I think R* learned from the GTA IV release.

Man, this is why I'm really hoping we find out the release date and platforms soon. I am hoping for a simultaneous release. If that doesn't happen then I guess I'll buy it for my 360. confused.gif

Previously what ive seen about Max Payne 3 it was a great game and R* actually gave a damn about PC Gamers i think they've learned their lesson from GTA IV at first it was bad as sh*t but they later released patches it was alright later.

and what im experiencing these days about gaming that everyone is actually turning back to PC just look at FIFA what it used to be but FIFA 12 changed it all and look at Crysis 1 it was great but Crytek ruined Crysis 2 it by giving out a Console port for the PC but now Crysis 3 will change everything back and it will be the best FPS it used to be.

so i say for the PC

Sir, please explain how a game or a engine would be developed on a Console, every game is developed on the PC with softwares ofcourse and then it is made available and released for the Console, Consoles are only to play games and some Media IMO you can't make OFFICE Presentaions.

If you're going to get GTA on a console I recommend PS3, it looks nicer and runs smoother. Also I would like to think that Rockstar will make a great version for the PC, but even if it's not that great on the PC, I would still get it because modding is very fun, especially with such an open game like Grand Theft Auto.

Wait what?, Pc games have much better graphics, did you play MP3 at very high settings? It will blow your mind. Xbox is a 6 year old gaming console that was great, back in the day that is like the mcreary family happy.gif

I myself am thinking of giving the 'ole rig a tune up for GTA V. Reserving a copy for PS3 for SP story, then, buying a PC copy for mods and MP mayhem devil.gif

I own all three consoles, yes, even the Wii turn.gif . No handhelds though, Android tablet and emulators all day.

Yeah. I own all 3 consoles, too and I prefer to play on my PC for several different reasons like mods and so on.

I hope R* lurks on this forum, so they can see that the majority of people voted PC. lol.gif

Well I've played since GTA 3 and I loved GTA V (especially TBOGT). I own all of the game on PC but I can't run GTA IV... and I don't have enough money to upgrade it. Good news I recently got a job so I could upgrade in the future.

I've play GTA IV on pc (at my cousins place) and I did not like it very much... the controls ruined it for me... and the crashes too. So I am leaning towards the Xbox 360 version because I enjoyed GTA IV so much more on it.

Note: I don't own a PS3 and don't plan on getting one

Since you don't own a PS3 I say PC. What I heard is for the xbox that you will have to download the game to the hard drive to play it.

This is not true, Microsoft does not allow installs.

If you prefer console, stick to it, and to play on PC you will need a good PC.

wow... I am amazed at how many people are so obsessed with graphics. Just because the game looks good does not make it good - for f*cks sake if you want great graphics so badly go buy a movie on bluray. The majority of people who voted for PC only said that the graphics will be great on it - NO ONE said oh I think that the controls will be better or anything regarding GAMEPLAY.

Anyway for those of you who actually give a f*ck about the gameplay (a small minority according to the poll...) I hope that GTA V will run better on the 360. In GTA IV occasionally I would get some minor lag and that kind of pisses me off - look I love GTA and my Xbox 360 but what kind console can't even run it's own f*cking games properly?! *facepalm*

EDIT...

Lag appears to start when...

*Killing a lot of enemy's (like when cops surround you)

*Driving (mainly when the car goes air bound)

*[This ones my fault devil.gif] When I drive cars into the hospital I sometimes have trouble getting the car to fit and on rare occasions the physics screws up and I glitch inside.

Most of us who play on pc play with a controller any way dude. So gameplay is practically the same or better IMO anyway. I play IV/EFLC with an xbox 360 controller without even owning the console itself. So maybe thats why no one complained about gameplay. smile.gif

Lol I play most games on my PC with my PS3 or 360 controller. The gameplay would be the exact same for all platforms....it's not like R* will design a completely seperate game for the consoles and the PC.

Gameplay is the exact same for the PC as what is shipped to consoles. Why I prefer to play on my PC is because of the graphics, the mods, and the ability to have more freedom in general than I would if I played on a console. And I have. I own GTA IV and Episodes on my 360 and PC. My first playthrough was on the 360 (I never had lag problems btw, so I don't know what you mean) and I got the PC version later on. I prefer the PC version once everything was patched up.

Don't knock it till you legit give it a try. I understand tho that not everyone can afford to own a PC that will run the latest games decently so that is why they prefer consoles. And that's totally okay. I just wish that R* would start releasing for all platforms at the same time. MP3 was a good step in the right direction. icon14.gif

If your PC can't max out GTA V than buy it for Xbox 360. The only thing on PC is modding, Graphics and Fps you need at least 1300$ to Max everything out and get enahancer and put sh*t ton of mods and still get 60fps thats the only reason to buy it on PC.

My oldest brother was able to build a gaming PC for around $800. He can max out all settings in the latest games. Thing is tho, you can only do that if you buy the parts yourself and then assemble it, or get someone else to do it for you. If you buy retail then yeah you're looking in the 1000's for a decent enough PC.

I bought my gaming laptop almost 2 years ago and I can still max out the latest games today. There's pros and cons to every platform but in the end we'll all here to game. icon14.gif

My friend who can build gaming PC's showed me all the parts i need to Max every game out there for at least 2 years the price of all parts cost about 1300$. It had the second best graphic card in it that costs 400bucks the top one costs 1000 it was a beast PC. If you know how to build gaming PC's you can buy all the parts cheaper than already made PC's if i knew how to build one i would, but economy is tough you can pay the rent for one month with that price. I really like PC gaming modding is the best part that interests me into it.
