I mean, I have morals; even though I don't really like to go to school like most people, I know that skipping a day is something wrong to do, even if it's just a day, and I would feel very guilty after doing so. It's the same with work; you say that "it's just one day", but every day is important. You don't know what could happen on that day. Maybe the boss is planing to promote you on that day, but as you never arrive, he doesn't promote you on that day, nor in any other day, because you skipped. Been lurking for a while but finally decided to sign up... as to the question: Luckily I have a great job that gives me 50 days off a year. I'll be taking 5 of those days starting the day of release. I'll purchase an ounce of nug and spend the days playing the game and the nights out boozing with my friends. I like to call this my "throw away vacation" 'cuz I do absolutely NOTHING productive. And believe me, I already know one of them is a giant dick. Tuesday I have some BS provincial offences lecture with a prof I never had before, but it's not the dick prof I mentioned earlier. So....meh I'll have to see what happens closer to the day. If it's just one lecture, I know I can easily make it up through notes that my friend took. Anything more than that, and I am not skipping. I also have Thursdays off, like you! In that case, I think I'll have the usual Thursday off and skip my Friday lecture which is just a BS elective. I know the prof, he puts up the entire lecture online and he's a really cool guy. Had him last semester. Took the day off for Skyrim and nothing happened. He didn't even notice I was gone. I don't think I'm going to skip anything major like my core courses. You're right bro, it may f*ck you up. I'll have to guage it when I start the semester. Yeah. I think having the usual Thursday off and then skipping just the Friday which is my elective is the way to go? I mean, it's 4 days off and I know for a fact I won't be missing anything major unless it happens to the day of any exam or some paper being due. Hmmm. I don't want to miss anything major, but hell I never skip lectures and I think I deserve one day off just to enjoy myself. Give them a bd excuse and ask if it's possible to sit in on another class. If the game comes out friday instead of skipping your Friday classes all together you can try and go to other scheduled classes for that course earlier the same week. I only have one class on Friday and that is my elective which is utter BS and an easy credit. I had the prof last year and he truly doesn't care if you do not show up once or twice. He uploads his entire lecture online. I think that is my best bet, and I'll go with it. I don't feel like skipping my core classes even if it's just one day. My grades are more than decent and I know I'll be able to catch up, but it's best not to put myself in that situation to begin with just because of one day. I know this won't happen with the elective because I know the prof well and I know how he runs his class so....that's what I'll do. Instant 4 days of GTA V with the full knowledge I won't have missed anything. First world problems.
