Base 5
Hi there! I've been reading lots of tutorials for car conversion to SA in 3ds Max, even Puma's one, but never found a complete material section, my doubt is following: How can i assign to my converted car the damaged materials? So when i break the doors/windscreen and crash the car, the broken/grated textures appear. I know these textures come from "vehicle.txd", my question is how to assign them to the car. I already have an "_ok" and a "_dam" part for every breakable object. Here you got an example- This is how it should appear: This is how it gets in my car (Ignore the transparent door): Also if you could send me a link to a good full car material explanation it would be great! Thanks for your help!
Afterburningwheels
This is easy to fix. You have to select the polies you want to have damage, copy these polies and apply the vehiclescratch64 material and UV-Map it if need. That's the way to make the damage working. It's exactley how GTA cars are made to have damageable view. For windscreen you only have to copy the windscreen and apply the vehiclescratch64 material, UV Map it and they will work in the game. Good luck! Edited August 19, 2012 by Afterburningwheels
