Raziel_cN
I've been playing GTA for quite a while now, I have stopped playing for a bit and now I can't run it anymore. It will get to the loading screen once you sign into your windows account and go to GTA4 episodes and click start. While showing the characters and such it will just keep showing them over and over and over. I ctrl+alt+delete and saw that GTA4 was "Not Responding" I went to the process and saw it was running 32 bit and my computer is 64, I'm not sure if it was running this all the time or what. I've bought the game from steam and I never had an issue like this before. Here are my computer specs: 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM (6MB Cache, up to 3.3GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0) Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit 6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz (2DIMMS) 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660M (And a Intel HD4000 graphics onboard) 1000GB5 SATA hard drive (7200RPM) High Capacity 9-cell Lithium Ion (90whr) Does anyone have any suggestions? Miro
Make sure that VSync in game options is off. Besides, do you have any mods installed? Dead (Retired)

Miro
Have you tried deleting your game settings or re-installing the game? You might also consider installing the Games For Windows Live Update if nothing works. Dead (Retired)
Spider-Vice
You say the settings are messed up? Did you happen to downgrade a patch? For example install 1.4 on top of 1.7? let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! I installed the game a month ago. I didn't instal any patches or anything and the settings are "messed up" meaning for some reason I can't change them. It "changes" and go immediately back. jpm1
with steam you don't need to install any update , steam does it automatically . when you change your game settings , you should always stay in green . for example 650 Mo / 1024 . try updating your card drivers and direct x too . your rig should run the game with no problem (and probably with everything on high)
Spider-Vice
If nothing works I think one of the solutions you have is to reinstall the game You won't lose your savegames, the installer prompts you for that. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! I have DirectX 11 and my graphic drivers are updated automatically using a program I made. I'm reinstalling now. I was really hoping it doesn't delete save games. Thank GOD. Now the issue is my internet. it's gonna take 20+ hours to download again.

Problem with the settings you're experiencing is due to the new CPU lineups where GTAIV can't detect the discrete GPU correctly. So you need to use nomemrestrict -> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=458859 You'll also want to try starting a new game as it's possible your savegame was corrupted. It can't be my saved game, because the issue also starts when starting the game. I try going to options then graphics and it's all weird. It won't let me change anything and everything is on the lowest setting. I tried that commandline switch thing, I don't know if I did it right but it still didn't work. I'm getting REALLY pissed at this thing.
