I do think the music is VERY important. It gives the game a better feel for the time it's set around. I LOVE Vice City's music (most of it), and i can't stop listening to it, but that's because i'm stuck in the 80's, music wise (damn you Vice City). San Andreas had some pretty good music (Radio X, K-Rose, K-DST).
