Margorp Nolispe Posted August 14, 2012 Share Posted August 14, 2012 Si I recently decided to play GTA 4 today. I havn't played it in a few months. I couldn't find anything to do. That's one problem, theres not enough minigames. But thats not what the threads about. Do you think minigames will have more smoothness than the ones in GTA 4 had? Bowling and pool in particular are the worst. They have poor mechanics and sensitivity. I recently play Roman in a game of pool. And in every game, 3 or 4 of my shots just decided to vanish or defy the laws of gravity as it approached the hole. the balls decide to climb up over the pool table and break free. Also, the sensitivity off the holes are poor. Often, The ball would go near the hole,but hit the corner and roll back out but then suddenly decides it wants to stay in the hole. Bowling is also quite silly. I lost a game a few minutes ago when roman took a shot in hope of getting a spare. He got no where near the pin but it decided to fall down anyway. I know all games have glitched but the minigames in GTA 4 are atrocious. This isn't a thread about wanting mini-games, its about me wanting the mini-games to be less glitchy and silly. Bowling is easy yes, but still ridiculous at times. And no I'm not trolling. I can't think of a word that's not offensive to describe the pool. I can pot balls easy enough but at random times the ball decides to have a fit and shake it all about. I was playing Roman earlier and he literally scored a lot of stupid shots, but I had to turn my XBOX off after the ball hit the corner, went about half a foot in the air and landed in the hole. Here's your real problem: You're playing GTA for the crappy minigames. What else am I supposed to do? The storyline is finished, free roam gets boring and the multiplayer is plain lame. I also want some sort of theft minigame. Lastly, I want them to majorly expand on the police computer crimes. Those are very fun, just driving around killing people! Alenko Posted August 14, 2012 Share Posted August 14, 2012 One thing that really annoyed me in gta 4 was the fact that you can never really get drunk by yourself, you always had to have a friend to do so. Now, what they should do in is put mini drinking games like Luis Lopez could do, purhaps even have conversations via Mass Effect style with the locals. You need a softer touch for pool. Don't just go smashing every ball hoping to hit the pockets. It's hard to judge your power, but you can easily over shoot your shots. I used them to bookend missions and I thought it did add something to the story and characters. I didn't like the minigames, but I did like seeing the characters chilling out, getting to know them a little better and how they are outside the missions. But the minigames themselves sucked. I can't see how you find them hard? They're way too easy.... you probably try to line up your shots in pool and bowling. That's wrong. With pool, make the shot the game suggests, you always win. With bowling the trick is: take two steps to the left, pull back 1 second, push forward -> automatic strike. EFLC's were better and RDR's too.. so I guess Rockstar has learned their lesson. But they should take it a step further. Now they're just distractions and one-off. I'd like to see more activities that stay interesting when the story is done. Stuff that's tied into the ingame economy like jacking and customising cars for profit, dealing anything from drugs to to ice cream (you need a cover) and real estate. I just wish I had video footage of the retarded moments in the game of pool. The sensors on the holes are crap and the likes to literally jump into the air. It's like saying you wouldn't play FIFA, madden or NBA because "you can do it in real life" I agree they need to have more "GRAND THEFT AUTO" related mini games, but things like bowling and pool are a nice addition. The sensors on the holes are crap and the likes to literally jump into the air. yeah i've seen some bugs it with it too.. sometimes the collisions just go haywire.
