Insurance would you like ...

My Idea is if someone crashes into you can get your phone out type "claim" and then take a photo of the car and send it to a phone number like 0800 467-555-899 and in 2 game day's you get a text saying take your car to "name of garage" to get your car fixed and then you get money from your insurance company

But...

You have to buy your insurance every month it and the price varies between the cars and how safe your driving price varies from $30 to $100 also if you don't have it and you drive past a speed trap when you are speeding the fine you $10

But...

you can get into accidents deliberately and clam also you can get life insurance from "$100 to $200" where if you get ran over get shot at fall of your bike or jump out of your plane/ helicopter or jump of a building you can clam and if it was your fault you say "i was pushed"

Give me your thoughts and reasons why

sorry about the empty poll option i pressed enter on the keyboard making it a option by accident please don't vote for it

You realize 1/5 in the UK are uninsured? I don't know how this compares to the USA. A criminal protagonist in GTA wont give a damn about insurance.

And this claim mentality is a load of bollocks too. suicidal.gif

lol Some retard actually voted for the empty poll option.

Guess it represents bored.gif

Anyways, I voted yes, sure. Why not? It's not like you make a ton of cash in GTA, Insurance is very important, can save you a fortune.

That expensive car you just stole, must insure that because if it gets wrecked, you'll have to walk everywhere.

f*ck me why are so many people on here hellbent on doing inane and mindnumbingly boring tasks on whats meant to be a fun game. Maybe once all you people who want things like insurence and gas in cars are actually old enough to be playing gta you'll realise how sh*t these things are in real life.

huh?

Maybe you need to grow up kid and smell the fumes.

Everyday I look forward to putting gas into my truck, I just can't wait. I get all excited and sh*t.

Insurance is a Godsend! You are always covered, its like they're a charity, such helpful folk.

Medical insurance, well, I died once, thank ING that i had health insurance!

All of these things have brought great excitment to by adult life, how can you say that these tasks are boring and mundane?

i guess it would be a cool feature

Your signature ir f*cking annoying and might be a lie.

OT: It would be a nice feature, bu it should be really expensive for almost destroyed cars. Even for few scratches.

Who is talking about real life here? But, yes, I would like insurance, but only if it's your car, like being able to buy cars and when they get destroyed, they respawn in your garage, without the monthly fee and sh*t. This because in GTA IV, my safehouses all have 2 cars parked in front of them, but I'm too scared to use them... Maybe it could work for stolen cars too, but you have to go to a pay 'n' spray (or tuning garage if they're back) to repaint the car and claim it yours.

I would like to see this on V though i doubt it will happen ( too much realism) because i work in this area, more exactly damage notification, and yes it costs a lot to fix your car even for tiny little things. In my country the insurance doesnt always pay, and if u got a problem its hard to find out whats wrong with the payment. When it comes to give the money back things aren't always smooth.

I wonder if we can write off the premium as tax- deductibles.. panic.gif

Geralt of Rivia

This is why there's something called restaurants, pay n' sprays, and health cheats. Sorry, but this has no place in GTA and is not a great idea

This is one of those ideas which looks as mundane and boring as f*ck. But some people do want a mechanism by which they can get back cars they value which happen to get destroyed. Daft as it may seem, car insurance is a solution straight out of real life. As such I think it's actually a better idea than having a magic menu driven garage such as in the SR series.

But it does need to be simpler than in real life. So to adapt it to GTA I'd do the following:

  1. I'd have it so you can only get insurance on a vehicle you own, so you either have to buy the car, or be gifted it. If it's a car you stole you can't do it.
  2. Then, to take out your insurance, you dial a number. Your insurance premium is taken as a one off payment (just to keep things simple). It could even be calculated as a formula taking into account game stats such as cars destroyed per unit of time and the vehicle you're seeking to insure (so faster and/or more luxury cars cost more.)
  3. When you want to recover a destroyed car, you dial another number. A further small payment is taken (i.e. your deductible aka your excess) and your vehicle spawns at one of a number of locations (i.e. at a suitable dealership or Pay 'n' Spray) on the map to be collected.

Come on when will people draw the line with terrible polls and ideas?? insurance?? you do know the game is Grand THEFT Auto?? you can't get insurance on a STOLEN car!! how did this idea not sound dumb when you taught of it? and then seem even dumber as you were writing it up?? whats your next poll?

Who's the protag?

1. Dog

2. Flying rat

3. Homeless guy

4. A Snail

5. Do you guy's tink my poll is dumb?

I hate dumb poll's and this one might not top the list but its right up there!!

I'd rather have the magical car repairing garage from saints row. f*ck, even mafia II had it. I personally want to take my painted up gorgeous car, drive it off a cliff, then have it respawn for me perfectly fine. Why? Because this is a game. Do you think neo ever walked again to get somewhere in the matrix when he discovered he could f*cking fly like superman? No, he flew everywhere. Do you think anyone in this world would act rational in any way if it had respawns? People would jump off buildings like crazy. I'd personally like to exploit the fact that this is the virtual world and never have to eat or fill up my gas tank. Or get a monthly fee insurance thing for that matter.

You have the worst signature ever!! American football sucks balls its slow boring and should be called Handball as the players rarely use their feet on the ball, plus its the ONLY ''sport'' where someone can be morbidly obese and be of any use! oh and Football is European and played with your feet hence foot-ball, its fast paced and bloody good to watch

Shreddy Krueger

This idea is just full of good, old fashioned stupidity. A criminal, making an insurance claim on a car he's stolen? f*ck it never mind I'm not going to try to rationalize this. You're an idiot, OP. I'm sorry, but this is just a mind-bendingly amount of dumb.

Make it so only pedestrians try to claim insurance, it would be funny due to how ironic it would be when they try to take your registration number down and it also give peds something to do other than getting out the car when you crash into them, stare at you then drive off.

This has nothing to do with the topic, so shut up.

I'm not sure how many criminals take out insurance...something which can be traced back to them.

People need to stop trying to over-complicate things in GTA by adding all of this hyper-realistic stuff.

That sounds really fun!

I bet we could even have cops that arrest us for speeding down the highway! And they could give us traffic tickets, which we could then dispute and have to show up for court a few days later! Then, when we leave the court, we could go buy Clucking Bell, order a soda and a chicken burrito, then actually walk over to the fountain and play a minigame where we pour the soda into the cup, if you overpour, you lose by the way!

Just imagine how much fun all that would be!

Why don't I just steal a new car 2 seconds later?

The game's name is Grand Theft Auto after all.
