I think maybe that Rockstar will update the newswire today with some GTA V infos. As some of you may be aware, Sleeping Dogs is released today in NA. Also, Gamescom starts tomorrow. Do you think that Rockstar might update the newswire with some V news to take the attention away from Sleeping Dogs/Game Informer?

 

Have they done anything like this before? I think it's possible! Do you think they will?

Because they never market V. Not according to predictions, not according to financial crap. Nothing. In fact, I believe they delay the info every time someone predicts something on here. They also probably delay info when they're out of donuts, when they're out of beer, when they're out of soda, when the copier's not working right, when they feel bad, when the wrong song is on the radio, and whenever a full moon happens.

i voted no based on my own assuption, in other words, yes it did come from my AS!! I Believe hat R* does have a marketing strategy and they will not change it based on another Dev's game. It is a stupid strategy but alas it is so.

 

Now dont get me wrong i'd love to have something and i do believe that if so it'd help the forum breathe new air on speculation about new info. New relevant topics and posts.

 

P.S. I also lost hope to hear anything till Nov-Dec and even then who knows. (still have 0.000098% hope you're right)

I've been waiting for Sleeping Dogs for years ever since it started as True Crime Hong Kong.

It will be a shame if they announced more information, because then I will have to divert my focuses onto the new GTA V info and I won't be able to buy Sleeping Dogs!

On the question of have they done something like this before. Well, they released San Andreas on Xbox Live when Saints Row 2 released.

 

That said, I doubt they'll do anything. There's a distinct difference between what Saints Row is doing and this game which, while I probably won't pick it up anytime soon, seems like something quite interesting and well thought out and executed.

 

GTAIII might release, though, on PSN. But that might be a coincidence given how it was originally planned for release a couple of weeks ago but was stopped from happening at the last minute due to a song dispute.

 

We'll see. They did have a little joke on True Crime (which is what Sleeping Dogs formed originally a part of) in San Andreas: http://gta.wikia.com/True_Grime_Street_Cleaners

I've seen the gameplay vids and apart from driving, everything else looks pretty dang sweet.

 

I'll be getting both versions, PS3 and PC. The high res texture pack looks awesome.

It seems like these guys have developed it well for PC aswell as consoles.

 

I guess it's all opinions but I did not find the gameplay videos boring, at all.

The NPC reactions and enviroment is quite spectacular.

Doubt it - Sleeping Dogs has got some pretty bad reviews so far. If it was getting 9's or 10's, then maybe Rockstar would do something. Otherwise, expect more Ass Pain 3 for the next few weeks/months until they are ready to explain more. They likely only did it for SR3 because the game is, quite literally, exactly like GTA with more added 'sillyness'. Sleeping Dogs is an open-world crime fighting game-hybrid.
