I for one, simply haven't seen any reason to believe that Rockstar is going to do a complete 180* turn in the way they've promoted and released in the past. They historically take very long with everything they do. It's already mid August, and we have ZERO confirmation on anything concerning GTAV'S status or projected release date. In order to buy the theory that Rockstar is releasing it in 2012, you would have to rely on nothing but wishful thinking, in my opinion. The biggest claim that's been promoted so far, is the projection for Take Two's stock this fiscal year. The stock price was followed more closely than during the financial crisis of 2008. Even after all the panic over Take Two's falling stock, NOTHING HAPPENED. Game Informer has played THEIR part as well. Every new cover will be met with similar, unsubstantiated speculation. It is wishful thinking indeed, because i really want a new Grand Theft Auto. Whoever else posted pointed out they weren't Triple AAA titles, and that is true, but R* are becoming bigger more prominent developers making more money, so with that comes more games in a closer to each other time-frame. I don't know if it sold well, but it was definitely something they worked on hard. If only sh*tty max payne 3 wasn't their plan, it would've been Bully 2. I think we would've already a few more titles if GTA IV wouldn't have been delayed by 6 months, Red Dead Redemption's mismanagement wouldn't have been that huge, Midnight Club Los Angeles wouldn't have been delayed by 7 months, L.A. Noire wouldn't have been delayed before the first trailer and Max Payne 3 wouldn't have been delayed by 3 years. If all that wouldn't have happened we would've been already played GTA V, Bully 2 and Red Dead 3. Now we can see that Rockstar clearly have some management problems. Yeah but for the most part, you can't argue with the results. I must admit MP3's development time was inexplicably long & when I completed it, I expected the credits to show that not many people had worked on it. The game mechanics were very solid, the scenery & level design was unbelievably intricate but 5+ years worth? It was a very linear game & it was all shoot this, shoot that & blow up a couple of things. GTA V will have so many things in it & they all need to work seamlessly together & all in their "biggest open world game they've ever created". It doesn't matter to me how much longer I have to wait because this is my (and probably a lot of yours) most anticipated game ever. I'd rather wait another year if that's what it takes.
