mrawoodcock
I'm upgrading my PC very soon. I have an.. AMD Athlon II X2 220 2.8GHz (Fine for gaming) nVidia GeForce 9200 256mb (Horrible for gaming) 3GB DDR3 (OK for gaming, upgrading maybe soon to 6gb) My computer is an Acer Aspire AX3400. I'm going to get the Ati Radeon HD 5450 512MB for my PC since I'm limited due to my power supply (220w) I know the 5450 will work on my PC since it doesn't require a lot of power, but would it play GTA 4 on LOWEST resolution, settings ect.. But with shadows on low/medium? I don't know if this video is real or fake but it seems to work perfect for this guy... Prometheus
Lowest Settings, barely playable. And don't even think about getting the 5450, it won't make any difference. What's your budget? Are you willing to buy from an e-Retailer?
mrawoodcock
About £40-£50, and ebay.co.uk is the site I want to buy from. But the graphics card you suggest must fit in my PC and run on my 220w power supply.. Do you have any suggestions? EDIT: would getting the 1gb 5450 work on my PC and would it make a difference to the 512mb? would the NVIDIA GeForce-GT 430 1GB work? luceberg
According to this review, the best graphics card you can add is an AMD hd5570, not great but better than a hd 5450. http://computershopper.com/desktops/review...re-ax3400-u2012

I was thinking about GeForce 210. Would that play GTA 4 good?

Another option would be to upgrade the power supply with something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EZCool-Power-Suppl...r/dp/B0056G8L4K. Or move all the components to a bigger box and use a standard psu.
SPEEDARTADDICT
i had this card please save yourself the time and dont waste your money it makes gta 4 look like sanandreas seriously and at best you get 20fps draw distance is literally 2ft in front of your character i could go on its just a bad card.. mrawoodcock
Well do you have any suggestions? One that would deffo work on a 220w psu? With low settings but shadows on low/medium? Perhaps the 6570? Edited August 14, 2012 by mrawoodcock
monster875.
not even the 6570 will cut it, u have to go with atleast a 6950 to get a GPU that can play it on great FPS. also change the PSU, it's way too weak for a rig capable of playing IV on playable FPS. and yes, more than 4GB RAM is good;) i'd recommend u getting a bigger budget, maybe atleast 700£. i did read what u said in the whole thread, but i still do recommend u build a completely new PC, or else buy a DECENT PC from a store that can play IV at low-med settings on playable FPS. luceberg
@monster875 You are right, but my guess is that he doesn't have the money for a better system. @mrawoodcock Use this site to calculate your power requirements: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp I used it guessing some of your pc parts and with a 5570 and it came to 172watt recommending 222watt psu. It is cutting it a bit close but you dont have much choice. You can get an inline power meter to show what wattage is being pulled from the mains( I got one from lidl!). My guess is that you would rarely exceed 150watts. If you find that I am wrong and it is pulling more, like 200watts, then you should replace the psu with something better. The 6570 uses more power than the 5570. http://www.hwcompare.com/10436/radeon-hd-5...d-6570-oem-1gb/
mrawoodcock
Will the ATI 6450 1GB run it smoothly on lowest settings?
Prometheus
Will the ATI 6450 1GB run it smoothly on lowest settings? Probably, but it's not worth it at all.

SlaveZer0
your computer on its best day was not meant for gaming, accept that you need a new system and make all of our lives easier by not wasting our time on futility...

Prometheus
OK I'm going to try the HD6570 Don't waste your money, really. You could save up and get a new build, the margin isn't really big, also I'm not completely sure if that will work properly, considering that you have a 220W PSU. monster875.
Don't waste your money, really. ^ this save money till u have atleast 700 or 800, then go buy some sick gaming stuff. it's worth it

Again the main reason not to get that GPU, is because that there are no guarantees that it will work on your 220W PSU.

unc13bud
get a $20 PC case and use a full size video card - i think that is full size atx power input on the motherboard? http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/pro...-103-267-07.jpg there doesn't seem to be much clearance, you would be baking the card - unless you modded the case ala silverstone raven, etc.
dansgas1000
No maybe get a radeon 6670 if you have a good 300-350w PSU. it's maybe medium settings oops i forgot i have already posted here
