Dutchy3010
Sometimes disappointed after downloading a mission? Do you want some more objective info about a mission to decide if its worth downloading? A new feature is added to the DYOM website. When you are logged in, you can go to any mission and click on the link "Mission Blueprint (beta)". Then you can see the objectives with some additional information and texts. The screen below is an example, from the mission No happy ending. What do you think of this feature? Is it a great addition, or do you think it is worthless? IMPORTANT: this is still a beta feature. Of course, when we see that this function is abused, we will get it of the website! DYOM - Create, play, share!
DestaliusDark
It's a great feature. Of course , beginners will have less downloads, since nobody thinks it worth downloading them. Well, i like it. It helps you from wasting bandwidth on missions where you just jump off a cliff and kill a man.
xGhostx
Nah, it's a useful feature, but beginner might not understand it much in the first time.
General Scrotum
One question: how can you abuse the blueprint feature? Upload a big mission you already uploaded and edit it with another mission file (which the mission is one of the worst ever) and still have the first mission's blueprint there instead of the second one which would result in people downloading a 'fake' mission? Anyway, my opinion about this: helpful. It will greatly help people to decide if they should download a mission or not.

That situation should be covered. But since this feature is quite computational intensive, (as the mission file needs to be analysed by the server) and this is still beta functionality, there are some risks. xGhostx
I just tried the feature and it's pretty complicate at the first time, the cutscene is pretty hard to understand because of the numbers location, I can just know that it's a cutscene and what it say. But the spawning part is pretty long and confusing, what if I spawn 100 actors, cars and objects.
AnDReJ98
I agrre with Ghost. This is complicate, plus beginers won't understand this easy.
Lee.
Yep. A little too complicated, but helps me a lot to decide if I want to download the mission or not
PatrickW
We decided on this level of detail, because it also enables more experienced designers to help answer question why certain actors/vehicles/objects don't appear at the expected location at the expected point in time. * If the general opinion is that the level of detail is unusable, we can of course make adjustments. * If you feel there is to much detail, we would appreciate an example of the level of detail that would be better in your opinion. Kratos2000
Nice feature, useful aswell. But one thing which bothers me quite a bit is about the dialogues/checkpoint infos shown in the pic, I'm not sure if it could expose important details which you would like to keep secret till one plays the mission, How much of the mission does it scan? mkthetimelord
But one thing which bothers me quite a bit is about the dialogues/checkpoint infos shown in the pic, I'm not sure if it could expose important details which you would like to keep secret till one plays the mission, That was my problem with it, when looking at the screenshot. What's the point of downloading the mission for the mystery when it has all of it right there?
PatrickW
It scans all of the mission. But that's indeed one of drawbacks. But on the other hand, if you like mystery, you don't have to look at the blueprint, it's not like it's in your face automatically. But this is indeed an important discussion. Darkseller63
Wow! Something new! It's good, that this function is in a separate menu, because it gives spoilers.
helresa
I would love something like this.... I'm trying to make a large total conversion and I use DYOM to test out some of the ideas, to be able to use DYOM to set up the cut scenes and other items, then use the blueprint feature to take those coordinates and then use them in the script code would help a lot, heck I wouldn't mind a desktop exe that would produce the blueprint for a given dyom file. Csabi98
As some of us already said, this ruins the whole mission. It reveals the dialogues, maybe surprises like your best friend dying in a mission-pack. I don't know what to say about this. I think its not worth to have something like this. If you want to download newbie missions to give feedback, download them, if not, don't download. You can see if a mission is poor or not by looking at its topic. The uploaders should be able to choose whether to display the blueprint or not.
xGhostx
Well I think it works like spoiler, if you don't want to spoil the mission, then don't press it I guess.
