Military 5 star instead of Swat?

I have to say I miss the military coming after you so I'd like to see it return in some aspects.

RIP Rockstar Games

What if...

A 7th Star Level?  rolleyes.gif

That makes me think back to a fake Grand Theft Auto San Andreas screenshot where the wanted level stars went up to seven....

It would be quite unrealistic if they add the army at 6 stars. They can add the L.S NOOSE instead. But it's not gonna be like the Noose from IV. More like the UFE from Max Payne 3, hard to kill and with good moves...

I'd rather SWAT. They are cooler looking and more reasonable than sending an army after you. If you went on a military base and got a wanted level, then they can start chasing you around the whole map, but if it is just in normal areas, SWAT all the way.

Well personaly I'd love to see the army back, but I'm thinking with the R* perspective... they want to make GTA (and other games) the most realistic as possible. So, we've got to admit that is quite unlikely that we would see the army back. But with the AI improvements, as we saw in MP3, killing the SWAT would be quite challenging.

And personally, I won't be pissed off and I won't say "Cockstar, leave up the f*cking whiskey", like some poor bustard of here if it is the army or not. I don't care if it is the SWAT, the army, or the "four riders of the apocalypse", I just want to play it the soon as possible, like all hahahaha

I want to play the game too. But I was really disappointed when the army wasn't in GTA IV. The N.O.O.S.E was so easy to kill. In SA sure the army was easy to kill but when they group up on you then your dead. Plus driving on the road with tanks after you was fun. The new Cop system isn't really as fun as the old Cop system.

talking about reality i think its too unrealistic like in gta iv was you could kill over 100 swats without being dead , i think gta v needs that ENEMYS and other AI would be way smarter and stronger , becouze it looks silly then in gta iv swat dude says : im moving in ... (starts runing ...(sees fire on ground (no reaction) ) runs over fire and starts firing , no ones doing anything. It was just and example what i wanted to say i mean there is no need super duper graphics for now just upgrade those stuff like AI , more ,better scripts , more living in city.

I am pretty sure That in real life, The Military won't come out after one person. Their main Job is to protect a Country not to come after a Mafia Boss.

I think R* would add L.A SWAT:

Or a FBI Special force:

They are Armed to the Teeth tounge.gif

But this isn't real life. We shouldn't limit fun factor because of things that happen or don't happen in real life.

I want the military, jets tanks, and everything^^

Agreed completely.

If you're going about making any Grand Theft Auto game with realism as a top or high level priority/aim, you're doing something drastically wrong.

Sure, Grand Theft Auto IV was much more realistic than previous Grand Theft Auto titles, but even that still had plenty of unrealistic sh*t. And that's just how it should be. Somewhat realistic physics, quite unrealistic storyline and overall atmosphere, plus plenty of humour to boot!

Realistic isn't there main priority. They're going for our satisfaction, meaning putting whatever the fans like and throwing it in the game and sprinkling it with some realistic stuff.

If I fly a plane into a building, I expect the military to come after me... just like 9/11.

See. It does happen.

Personally I think the wanted system should be not-so-easy. Beating/stabbing a cop to death and still having a 1-star level? Pfft. 1-star should be for beating peds/slightly hitting police cars. 2-star for beating up cops/shooting guns/ramming hard into police vehicle. The other should remain how it is. A new star after 4-star level should be VERY hard to get. You'd probably have to shoot down 3-4 helicopters, swat teams etc. I liked how it basically was in IV, but it should be modified. And if you're in a house or some building, cops should be realistically surrounding it, blocking exits, shutting down electricity etc. so you won't easily get out, making your actions more tactically planned. Cop chases shouldn't be the cake, it should be hard, making you want not to cause unnessesary trouble in the city.

I want to see the National Guard back as well. I think it would be pretty cool if the Air Force and the Coast Guard could come in at six stars. Then after surviving six stars for awhile, special forces (SEALs, Delta Force, Air Force Pararescue...whatever). I think five stars should be the FBI Special Agents instead of the guys in suits with machine guns we have seen in previous games.

...all they have to do really to increase challenge is just increase difficulty adn balance it, so that getting 6 stars wanted level wouldn't be a walk in the park!...its not necessary have to be army units to increase diffucluty, SWAT difficulty and Ai could be adjusted so they would be not lesser threat than army...they could give them some heavy hard to destroy, bulletproof vehicles after all! SWAT armored car for example!...

Besides, adding riot shield units for assaulting building on 4-star level would be just great, making it really hard for the player to keep it hard. AI should be improved really bad. I remember easy weapon farming in IV. For about 15-20 could get a full stack of glock, MP5, and M4 ammo. You just get to the hospital, go to a nice covered spot, and shoot cops that enter the building. Got shot? No problem, drink a soda. I just hope it won't be that easy anymore.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't national guard actually civilians who are recruited when there is major crisis like natural catastrofies in some region or in whole country? In that case they are amateurs and they are not even compared to regular military unit. They are as Ryder called them ''weekend soldiers''. If there is going to be some kind of military for six star wanted level the best solution is delta force or navy seals since they are branch of military.

Well that just confirms it, they are reserves, they can fulfill their duty fine, but they are just civilians who are part time military and they are not receiving full training and t are not considered professional military personal.

So R* should either keep FIB or add for maximum level some kind of special force that is part of military. They should be hard to kill like in MP3 with full body armor so only headshots would kill them and they should have tactics to flank player if he keep camping in one place for example.

I could say something about the history of the Guard, but I am not sure how people here will respond to political history 101. Anyway....

But I suggest here that the system goes to six stars. And at that point the military is called in, JOINING the fight. So you have the military, Noose, Fib, and local cops. The thing is, up to this point you had a few options. Hide out and wait, like RDR where the law just gives up. Give yourself up, to the law, this being an option up four stars. Running from the police at five stars, getting away and being a free man.

OR....

Letting all hell break loose and get it to six stars. The thing is here at six stars you are the most wanted and even though you may have gotten out of the target area. You are far from free, because with six stars the law does not give up until you are dead.

If spotted it is an instant six stars.

Of course there is a way out. Pay extortion to the big wigs in the government.

I can just imagine how R* would play the seedy underbelly of American politics. In case you are not following real world. They are making the mob look like chumps.

I like this idea. I never understood in Grand Theft Auto that after so many stars that the police doesn't go after you. It was done right in RDR.

I know a lot of people would just commit suicide than pay the million. It's an option. Seeing how long you can stay alive, now that's the challenge.

There is a spot in GTA IV where the Rasta's play pool. To the left and up the street on the left side is a door way. The police, all branches, NEVER come up here. They target you from the nearest buildings. You can hunker down here for hours. The challenge is, if they hadn't got in a lucky shot is to get this full stars, get the warning area as big as possible and then try to get away.

Good times, good times.

With a six star wanted system where you stay wanted, it doesn't matter what the AI is. It's out to get you. The more I think about this the more I LOVE IT.

Getting away from 5 stars was easy in TBoGT. Just go up really high on a helicopter, then jump off with a parachute, and slowly glide down, they can't see you while you're high and not in a heli.

Storming buildings using teargas, flashbangs, riot shields, dogs would be just great. Making police units go inside wave-by-wave, dropping down on ropes from the roof. It's all good. Just to make it hardcore on 4-star+ wanted level.
