Jace26
Hey guys well as we all know rockstar has run out of American cities to set their games in, which is why they instead decided to just redo old gta game settings ie, Liberty and San Andreas. The only place other than America where a GTA would work is either UK or Australia as these are the two countries that are most similiar to America. Non-english speaking countries would just ruin the mood, and wouldn't have the same Western feel. I strongly believe GTA 6 will see the series move to either UK or Australia, but I believe it will be set in Australia. It is more than perfect for a GTA, and is unique enough of a location to help turn the series around. There is already evidence for a move to Australia such as comical references to Australia on the radio in San Andreas and GTA 4. As well as rockstar having said that it won't rule out the possibility of the series coming to Australia. !!!!!!!!!
Acehilm
I don't think so. GTA has been based on England, Liberty, Vice and San Andreas. If they were to use Australia as a location, it wouldn't be GTA. IMO, GTA VI will be based in Vice City; but that's just my through.

LA Noire is practically a ripoff of GTA and it was made by an Australian production company, so you can't say there is the talent to make one set in Australia. I HIGHLY doubt GTA 6 will be in Vice City, know why? Because rockstar needs sales, and in order to get sales they need a original game that will interest people, if people see that GTA 6 will be set in vice city then it will take away the hype for it and it will be a massive flop as its been done before. AlexGTAGamer
As much as I would love to wreak havoc on Ramsey Street and in Summer Bay (Easter Eggs right there), I really can't see a GTA game being set in Australia. It would be fun I admit, a Concept Thread might be a wonderful more better idea, but not an actual game.

Algonquin Assassin
Because rockstar needs sales, and in order to get sales they need a original game that will interest people, if people see that GTA 6 will be set in vice city then it will take away the hype for it and it will be a massive flop as its been done before. GTA IV broke sales records and received critical acclaim despite being set in LC for the 3rd time and GTA V is heading back to LS/SA. I guess it's destined to be a flop because no one cares? Your logic doesn't make much sense because if GTA VI is set in VC it'll blow peoples' minds. Face it VC was in high demand for GTA V so it making another appearance would only boost hype if anything. The irony is I bet if R* tried somewhere new people would probably go on how they miss LC, VC and SA or how the said city doesn't fit GTA or whatever. Although I have often thought of a GTA being set in Australia I just don't think it would click with a grander audience. Most wouldn't understand our social standing or have much knowledge on our criminal underworld. The beauty of going back to VC is we feel comfortable with what we're getting. ccrogers15
No they have not ran out of cities. They have yet to do a new gen vice city, and they could also show other cities from the US. They never went to Las venturas or San fierro again... They can and will stay in the US. GTAs main goal is to make fun of the US. Not make fun of mexico. General Scrotum
No they have not ran out of cities. They have yet to do a new gen vice city, [...] This is what I'd love to see. A modern-day incarnation of Vice. Perhaps GTA VI will be a comeback for Vice City. Yet again, if we all remember right, GTA:SA allowed us to make a small trip to Liberty City (in a mission.) Since Los Santos is in San Andreas, maybe one of the mission will allow us to make a small trip to Vice City? I know this is only speculation, but who knows? Rockstar has yet to surprise us. As for the subject of this topic, I doubt very much that we will see a GTA game set in Australia. We've seen England once (I believe) and the other games were set in the United States. It is more likely it will stay that way. If there is a minimal chance they changed country, I'd say England (once again) or Canada. The_Anti-tragedy
Rockstar has always gone with major US coastal cities. New York City was in the North-east, Florida was in the south-east, and Los Angeles was in the south-west. Maybe they'll go with a North-western city in Washington. Or Washington D.C. but that's not really a coastal city. Perhaps Providence but if they were going to a different country I'd say Halifax, London, or Vancouver. If they did Australia, they could do Sydney. We don't know...

Actually they never ran out of cities. Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas were all original cities in Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2. They're just remaking everything as new eras, I guess. GTA 3, LCS and 4 were all set on different parts of the timeline. Same as GTA VC and VCS, and SA and 5.
