Toniblue
What if GTA V was the last Gta title sold? The series has been around for a while and i dont imagine it will be, but what if it was don? Is there anothere game rockstar should expand on, would they have a new main title, or do you think there profits would just drop? I hope the series goes on forever! r0eladn
I am wondering how long R* can 'milk' the gta cow. Maybe its an endless cow.
Kifflom112
I doubt it. While I'm excited for V, I just cannot imagine how a GTA on PS4 and Xbox 720 would look.

Guest
Yeah, I mean it'd be a great business move if Rockstar would abandon their main source of income and get some more epic Max Payne games out, with plenty of DLC!
Official General
This has been spoken about already on here a few times. Anyway, I don't think it will be the last one for a while. There is too much money involved for GTA to just completely fold up. Edited August 12, 2012 by Official General

goh13
I am wondering how long R* can 'milk' the gta cow. Maybe its an endless cow. Not sure if srs....... GTA was never a cash cow to begin with. A cash cow comes nearly every two years with the same old things. Like CoD or AC2:B and AC2:R GTA always had good stories and great gameplay. If this one is the last, I would simply switch to another game. Like Sleeping/Watch Dogs. Although nothing will be like GTA
r0eladn
I understand what you guys are saying about GTA not being a cow. (lol) But there are certain game elements that stay. How long can R* keep doing the same kind of missions, after a while they cant come up with new refreshing missions. Some things will never change, like cars, peds, guns, the missions. Only thing that gets better with maybe a new console are the graphics or how many cars there are etc.
theworldfamous
No it's not the last one.. not as long as Rockstar is 'that GTA developer' to 99% of the people. They'll try to diversify with other franchises, but GTA will be the main course for some time.. there's still too much you can do with that concept creatively and from a technical point of view. You ain't seen sh*t yet. The games might change though.. I suspect they're gonna do much, much more with episodic content, since that's the only way to keep the development affordable. JohnnyBNL
I am wondering how long R* can 'milk' the gta cow. Maybe its an endless cow. I like this cow, keep milking it. but they have to announce & release the milk every 4-5 years not earlier!
Geralt of Rivia
Yeah, R* is just going to stop the franchise that made them who they are and move on to something completely new and take about a 100% hit in income. ...

Johan
Their profits might drop a lot, but they might work on new I.P's like AGENT or sequels to Bully and Manhunt
Spider-Vice
As long as they make new characters, a new city and new features, they can always milk out a new story. I don't see GTA ending any soon in the next 3 years, I believe there'll be a GTA for next-gen, after that maybe another one just like IV and V are and then I don't know. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! Severe
I think they might drop the GTA-moniker at some point, and make independent titles, but I also think they'll definitely keep making games in a similar vein. After all, none the GTA-games are 'true' sequels anyhow, as they all have largely seperate stories and characters. The whole numbering/subtitle business just gets absurd at some point as well. Especially if they do stuff like GTA VI: Vice City II, etc.
SmC12
The Benz said, “Until we’ve simulated the world outside, we’re not going to stop.” This. It's clear they've always been very serious about creating an extremely detailed open-world environment. They push the barrier with every release, but I think we've got alot more to look forward to in the franchise still. We've got to get a revamped Vice City, they can't go back to LC and SA but not re-visit VC. The thing about GTA is that depending on the type of story you have, you could create so many different things. Just look at GTA IV and EFLC. It was the exact same setting, but told from a completely different perspective. They could easily have expanded on EFLC and make a brand new game because when you change some aspects and introduce new characters and new problems, you're basically unlimited in your freedom to continue to create new experiences. wwinterj
R* have quite a few other game series that could make them money and I think it time them series of games could become very profitable for R* without GTA. Red Dead series comes to mind. Also there is a market for Bully and I'd love another Manhunt. It would take a while for the series to reach the level of success GTA has and sell the same amounts though.
Punk-in-Drublic
I think it will go on for a while, it's not like they churn a GTA out every year like Call Of Duty is it? They put quality time into their games and bring them out every few years.
Durden
Well, even though there's a better chance of a Penguin sliding out of my ass, let me unattach from reality for the sake of answering your question. If GTAV were to be R*s last GTA title, I would.... wake up. Sorry, but I can't answer a theoretical question that I know is never gonna happen. mvega0422
As soon as GTA is gone, someone will come and do it even better. I'm not worried; if Rockstar doesn't innovate, others will.
matt_be
No way. I bet Rockstar will continue to evolve the franchise by expanding territory (ex. Multiple states) and adding in new features, while at the core of the game, its always about stealing cars and getting chased by cops!
Andreas
I don't think that Rockstar will give up their biggest gaming series - Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar already had to give up the Midnight Club series, at least almost. Rockstar can't afford to give up a second AAA-franchise especially their biggest. Sure, they could make a new open-world-series but I doubt it. I and many other people here enjoyed every GTA game so why should Rockstar give it up? Loves GTA
I am wondering how long R* can 'milk' the gta cow. Maybe its an endless cow. GTA is not a series that is being milked. CoD is being milked. GTA is not.

GR7
That's where Agent comes in. Here's what I'm thinking the plan is, Agent hopefully recreates the success GTAIII had on PS2 by being an early PS4 game and then it gradually takes over from GTA and to compensate we get one huge GTA before next gen finishes.
