FlavouredMilk
Okay, so Google doesn't want to answer this for me and I'm too lazy to check anywhere else, so I thought I'd ask here. I live in Australia and I want to buy the Red 320GB PS3, but they've stopped selling it here, though there are a few I can buy online from the UK. Am I going to have any issues with it? My major one is I want to do a data transfer from my old 80GB and if it doesn't work then I'm f_cked. Also, will all my games work and what not? Anyone who can answer, I thank you. I really want this console.
Gtaghost22
Ask here, you'll get more answers: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=294247 To answer your question, i don't think anything will f*ck up, PS3 isn't region-locked so your saves and games will work. Freakorama
All you need is an Australian power cable and everything else will work.
LewisMiller
From my experience games will work if they're from a different region, however any DLC you buy for a game from your regional PlayStation Store will not work because it will have a different BLES Code. FlavouredMilk
Would the memory transfer from one console to the other, like, take the settings and stuff with it? Like, so it then thinks that it's an AU console? Or does it kind of just copy the important parts like files and stuff? Not settings and what not. Just the important files, saves, music/movie files .etc Edited August 12, 2012 by Gtaghost22
ccrogers15
You only need a power cord from your country, OR if you plug it in right away it will go boom due to different voltage. Also know that PS3 games are not region locked, but PS1 and PS2 games are even if your playing them via emulation on PS3. Also to the above question, the system transfer i used before. I used it to transfer files from my PS3 fat to slim. It only transfered music, movies, pictures, account info, saves, and PSone classics. Nothing else transfered. All games that are PS3 must be downloaded/installed again. (That i know of as of 2009. It may of changed in an update, but i do not know) Edited August 12, 2012 by ccrogers15
MIKON8ERISBACK
FORGET THIS. I THOUGHT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THE XBOX 360. SORRY. You need an IEC 60320 type C17/C18 power supply cable and an Xbox 360 power transformer that can take in 230 volts alternating current. This is the plug type that you need as far as my knowledge goes. I don't see any reason why the Xbox 360 "power brick" can't take in anything from 100 to 240 volts which covers all of the mains voltages used in the world. BTW: IEC C17 and C18 are the same exact thing. They refer to the male and female connectors. When determining what is male and female; think "penis" and "vagina". MIKON8ERISBACK
OK, you need an IEC 60320 type C13 power cord with a AS 3112 plugtop. Sorry for the sh*t reply.
Finn 7 five 11
No^ i don't think so, the plug that comes with the PS3 is fine, you just need an adapter at the end to plug into the wall socket, they cost maybe $2, Sony was smart enough to put a universal PSU in. PS3 games are not region locked so you can play games from anywhere, i buy all my games from Oz Games Shop because the games at release at about $65 from the UK shipping included, and they are totally reliable. Blu-Ray discs ARE region locked, fortunately for you UK and Australia have the same region code so playback will NOT be an issue. As for DLC, i haven't heard of any DLC issues, half of my games are from the UK and the DLC works fine and i have my account set up in Australia, there is some exceptions i have read and you have to download from the UK store.
