brandon236
The reason is because I got a mod called trafficload. I downloaded a texture mod that changes the police cars LCPD to NYPD. What that did is it made all the cars taxis. There were taxis and police cars everywhere and almost no other cars. So I got trafficload and it fixed the taxi bug however now my game crashes after I play it for awhile. How do I make it stop. I don't have any other mods besides that one. I also have dsound.dll, xlive.dll, ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi, msvcr100d.dll, and the trafficload files in my GTA IV folder. Could any of those files be causing the problem. I have a windows xp 32 bit duel core i3 processor, 4gb of ram. Also all my settings are on high (it doesn't lag when I play).

I was getting the same problem for a while and about the best I can do is guess at the cause. I think its a video memory issue. When you modify vehicles and textures that are what the game deems to be beyond its ability to reproduce in mass quantity on screen it basically f*cks itself. I don't find that the software uses video memory very accurately. What seems to have fixed it for me is a commandline that I included in my GTAIV root. (to be fair I discovered this by accident. The original command line came from this mod) I have added a few things to it for my own ENB setup, but it seems dictating to the game how much video memory there is and how to use it stops it from shooting itself in the foot so often. I'd suggest you give the mod I linked to a download and see if it doesn't help.
