What to be on the lookout for

Okay, first of all I would like to say hi. This is one of my first posts so I hope it doesn't get locked!

 

Now, when major companies upload new trailers they want them to be viewed in the highest quality possible. They will upload the video under unlisted, then wait for it to buffer and make any last minute changes like tags, title, and description. It could take anywhere from 2 hours of preparation to 10 minutes, we don't know for sure but HD videos with copy written music do need to go through a bit before being viewed. So to cut to the chase, if Rockstar uploads anything that's not listed they think we can't see it but we actually can by looking at their latest activity, we could get a small pre-warning before the trailer.

So that's one of the things we should take note of. Also they stopped uploading MP3 videos, that could be a good sign!

It didn't work like this for the first trailer. The video was uploaded directly after the countdown reached 0, proven by how we had to refresh afterwords because the video "didn't exist".

But just for the sake of this thread, someone (Dinkleberg lolololol) posted a month or so ago that he "saw" activity on R*'s youtube feed of a second trailer and then when he went to post it here, it disappeared.

 

They could upload sh*t and then make it private or whatever and make it public the moment it's to be released.

I would think that they'd upload it to their own site before they put it on YouTube. Also, they're likely to put another countdown on their site as well, since the wait has been so long. We always knew when the latest GTA 4 trailer was going up.

Okay thank you. I'm new to this, I mean I have seen the trailer the day it came out along with the 2 screenshots. I'm just shocked it's been 9 months, maybe their using it as symbolism for GTA V being their baby

I had the same idea as you I mean, to check their YouTube for activity.

 

There is another thing you could do but probably impossible. If you go to the GTA V trailer page on R*'s website and view the source code you can find the direct link to the the trailer.

I'm assuming that all videos uploaded will generate a link like this. I played about with the numbers for a bit and found different versions of the trailers for V/LA Noire/Max Payne 3. Mostly they were just the same videos with different language voice over/subtitles. I don't even know if unlisted videos show up. You'd be there forever looking for the right number. You might go to a number today and see nothing but tomorrow it could have the V trailer. It's very unlikely you'll find anything and a big waste of time.
