I just want to get this off my chest. I gate it when people say this is GTA and not the SIMs. People GTA is every game mixed into one!

 

Back on topic, yes buying houses is a must.

Yes. Though I can see why it wasn't in GTA IV. Niko was an immigrant and the whole theme of the game was revenge. I'm sure the last thing on his mind was buying safehouses.

 

Anyway I think it'll fit into GTA V better.

In GTA TBOGT i was dissapointed when you couldn't buy houses i wish you could go round see a for sale sign ring the number on the sign and buy the house what do you think

Yes, I think you should be able to buy "Safe" Houses in GTA V. I wasn't disappointed with the lack there of in GTA IV: TBOGT. After all, you could still store your vehicles in front of all the Safe Houses from all three games. I was however disappointed with the fact that you couldn't enter them. Granted your first place in GTA V got burnt to the ground and so did the club in TLAD. But you should have been able to use the other Safe Houses.

 

And I don't think that making Minimum Wage in a game like GTA will cut it. After all, who's going to accept getting paid $7.25 an hour when they're running drugs, killing people, stealing boats, cars planes, etc.? Not this guy! I do kind of like the idea of being able to go to the Bank and getting a loan. It'd be funny as sh*t to see the lead character off some douche from the Bank who shows up to repo either his House, Car or whatever else.

Wouldn't it be cool if the buying went down somewhat like this: you drive around an see a for sale sign outside a house, approach the sign and get a message in the upper left corner of the screen saying "If you are interested in buying this house, call the number on the sign". You then call the number and tell the owner what you're about and agree to meet them at the house a few days later. Reminded by your cell phone's organizer you go to the location and see a short skippable cutscene of you buying the house. Of course there'd also be signs outside houses you can't buy but the buyable ones would just be highlighted on the map.

 

I know some of you would like to be able to buy the house then and there with the press of a button but to me the few days waiting would just add to the immersion.

This is really one of the things I missed in IV, so I would definitely like to see it return.
