Woman_Penis
I'm going to purchase SA at Rock star Warehouse for $10 (should I get physical or download version?). The GTA SA is version 2 apparently, and the SAMP website has a link to downgrade version 2 to version 1. I really want GTA SA for the opportunity to mod, play LS RP, and other fun servers. Plus, this can be a good way to start PC gaming. So, my question is, after buying GTA SA V.2 from R* Warehouse and downgrade it to V.1 with this patch (third-party patch), will I be able to play SAMP? I have a dell studio 540 (i think). It has a dual processor and enough memory, but integrated video card. It is on windows 7. Will I get ok gameplay (LS RP servers typically over 100+ people)? lil weasel
DON'T buy the Download (V3) is NOT compatable for modding or Multi-Player. BUY the Disc (V2) then downgrade (we don't discuss downgrading on these forums). Take note that Downgrading does not make your V2 a V1. all the downgrade does is remove the programming that would block modding. Your Saves and any saves you might want to download must be V2. Woman_Penis
so that means I can't play the hot coffee mod? XD just kidding I don't mind. SAMP all the way! Could you explain what you mean by saves? Do you mean like if I want to download a 100% save, it has to be version 2? Also, is there a place I can just buy Version 1? I can't seem to find any legit ones. Thanks for the fast and informative reply BTW. I appreciate you pointing out that the download version is v3. Saved me alot of stress if I bought it, high five. will I be able to play the physical copy on multiple computers or not? I have a laptop and desktop I switch between regularly. lil weasel
Yes, the Save Games have flags that id the V2. you can get more information in the “mission help” forum Chain Game Topic. Using the wrong version will either start the game at the beginning or crash to desk top. V1 game may be found rarely by E-bay, used game shops, flea markets, but you need to be careful about Pirated copies. They haven’t been retailed since 2006. Details on the MP game play might be found by a visit to the Official SA-MP Forums.
CheatingSoi
I don't think anyone answered the second part of your question But yes. Your game should run perfectly. It's an older game and it sounds like you have newer hardware. It runs well even on a really old computer I have.
Woman_Penis
I received San Andreas in the mail yesterday! Had to reinstall it since ai tried to put all files under "my documents.". I found it easier to keep them in programs. After installing the downgrader, I started up SAMP with ease (sorta, had to remove parent controls). Played on a free roam Malasyia server as HeyJude. Funniest I've ever had! I recall vs a tank with a garbage truck, (trying to) fly a helicopter and parachute, monster tricks with two other players, swat water battles, and more! Plus the game runs almost flawless! Even on my integrated graphics (it can run on the highest resolution in buildings)! I'll think about posting a video with my itouch about it I suppose. I'm very happy, and just those few minutes of chaos on samp blew my console gaming love away. Shoutout to Dakota and Shooter for helping me have a wonderful time! How can I add players on SAMP (I'm sorry, any more Samp questions will be asked in the samp forum. This is just my last one for this thread. Also, thanks for helping me guys, I really appreciate it. Everything is going smooth, and I hope to play some SAMP with you all!
ccrogers15
Just go on ebay and buy a version 1 copy. Version 1 copies dont say the version number on the disk. So its pretty easy to find a V1. Heres a V1: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grand-Theft-Auto-S...#ht_1290wt_1267
bluetops
How can I add players on SAMP (I'm sorry, any more Samp questions will be asked in the samp forum. This is just my last one for this thread. SA-MP ain't some kind of "Facebook" where you can add friends in a friends list. But I heard somewhere that some guy made a modification in SA-MP where you can do voice chats, add friends and other 'social-networking' stuff without leaving SA-MP. Problem is, I forgot the name of that application. Last time I heard, it's in beta stages and that was last year!
